  • Source Control icons have disappeared in Visual Studio 2010

    Today I installed Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate - RTM. One item that I noticed that is different is that files listed in the Solution Explorer window not longer display the source control icons beside each file (the lock, unlocked, plus sign for new files, etc.). Is there a setting that I am overlooking to display these icons? I have setup Visual Studio 2010 to use my source control client correctly (SourceGear Vault), and it does appear to be working OK -- I'm just used to seeing the little icons by each file. Anyone out there experiencing this problem? Is there something I can do to get the icons back?

  • object_getInstanceVariable works for float, int, bool, but not for double?

    I've got object_getInstanceVariable to work as here however it seems to only work for floats, bools and ints not doubles. I do suspect I'm doing something wrong but I've been going in circles with this. float myFloatValue; float someFloat = 2.123f; object_getInstanceVariable(self, "someFloat", (void*)&myFloatValue); works, and myFloatValue = 2.123 but when I try double myDoubleValue; double someDouble = 2.123f; object_getInstanceVariable(self, "someDouble", (void*)&myDoubleValue); i get myDoubleValue = 0. If I try to set myDoubleValue before the function eg. double myDoubleValue = 1.2f, the value is unchanged when I read it after the object_getInstanceVariable call. setting myIntValue to some other value before the getinstancevar function above returns 2 as it should, ie. it has been changed. then I tried Ivar tmpIvar = object_getInstanceVariable(self, "someDouble", (void*)&myDoubleValue); if i do ivar_getName(tmpIvar) i get "someDouble", but myDoubuleValue = 0 still! then i try ivar_getTypeEncoding(tmpIvar) and i get "d" as it should be. So to summarize, if typeEncoding = float, it works, if it is a double, the result is not set but it correctly reads the variable and the return value (Ivar) is also correct. I must be doing something basic wrong that I cant see so I'd appreciate if someone could point it out.

  • Looking for a reporting tool that will allow vector graphics in output file (PDF)

    I have been tasked with evaluating our current system that we use for creating and outputing reports. Currently we are using Crystal Reports ver 8, (I know that this is and old version.), which has a custom commandline app that we wrote in C# to execute the report for a given parameter passed through the command line. We like Crystal becuase it's easy to setup and design the report. It's also easy to print and create a PDF file from crystal using our custom commandline program. One of the problems/complaints that we have is that Crystal does does not appear to have a method that will allow us to create a PDF file with a vector images, such as our company logo. Crystal Reports always converts an image into a bitmap. When the PDF is printed, the results are less than flattering, and the PDF file size is increased. Does anyone have any recomendadtions for a reporting product that we should consider?

  • How do I add a condition to all ActiveRecords Queries for a particular model?

    I am using the sentient_user gem to have access to the current_user object in my application. I want to override the default ActiveRecordBase queries to scope them to the current user. For instance, I don't want my users looking at, deleting, modifying other user's orders. I feel like I should be able to override a single (or couple) ActiveRecordBase methods to accomplish this, but I don't know which or how. Thanks in advance.

  • Can't change pivot table's Access data source - bug in Excel 2000 SP3?

    I have a set of Excel 2000 SP3 worksheets that have Pivot Tables that get data from an Access 2000 SP3 database created by a contractor who left our company. Unfortunately, he did all his work on his private area on the company (Novell) network and now that he has left us, the drive spec has been deleted and is invalid. We were able to get the database files restored to our network area by our IT Service Desk people, but we now have to re-link everything to point to our group area instead of the now-nonexistent private area. If I follow the advice given elsewhere on this site (open wizard, click 'Back' to get to 'Step 2 of 3', click 'Get Data...' I get a message that the old filespec is an invalid path and I need to check that the path name is invalid and that I am connected to the server on which the file resides. I then click on OK and get a Login dialog with a 'Database...' button on the right. I click this and get a 'Select Database' dialog which allows me to choose the appropriate database in its correct new location. I then click OK, which takes me back to the 'Login' screen. I can confirm that it has accepted my new location by clicking on 'Database...' as before and the NEW location is still shown. So far so good - but if I then click on OK I get two unhelpful messages - first I get one saying that Excel 'Could not use '|'; file already in use.' - although no other files are in use. Clicking on OK takes me back to the 'Login' dialog. Clicking OK again gives me the same message as before telling me that the OLD filespec is invalid (as if I hadn't changed anything) - but clicking on the 'Database...' button shows that the correct (NEW) database location is still selected. Can anyone tell me a way of using VBA to change the link information without having to spend hours fighting the PivotTable Wizard - preferably similar to this way you update an Access Tabledef:- db.TableDefs(strLinkName).Connect = strNewLink db.TableDefs(strLinkName).RefreshLink Thanks!

    I often write T-SQL loops that look like this While Exists (Select * From #MyTable) Begin Declare @ID int, @Word nvarchar(max) Select Top 1 @ID=ID, @Word=[Word] From #MyTable -- Do something -- Delete #MyTable Where ID=@ID End Works a treat but I noticed the new Delete Top function which would be useful when #MyTable is just a list of strings. In this case, would this work: While Exists (Select * From #MyTable) Begin Declare @Word nvarchar(max) Select Top 1 @Word=[Word] From #MyTable -- Do something -- Delete Top(1) #MyTable End Well yes, it works in my test script but is this safe? I've seen other people's code that does this: writer.AddAttribute(HtmlTextWriterAttribute.Id, this.ID + "_divTest"); That will prevent naming conflicts between instances of my control, but what if I've already created a div elsewhere on the page that coincidentally has the same ID? I've also heard about implementing INamingContainer. Would that apply here? How could I use it?

I need table to start of an IEnumerable type so I can't declare is an object.     Hi there, a little while ago i was reading an article about a series of class that were created that handled the conversion of strings into a generic type. Below is a mock class structure. Basically if you set the StringValue it will perform some conversion into type T public class MyClass<T> { public string StringValue {get;set;} public T Value {get;set;} } I cannot remember the article that i was reading, or the name of the class i was reading about. Is this already implemented in the framework? Or shall i create my own?

    Hi I need to assign a formatted date to a column in a data flow. I have added a Derived Column editor and entered the following expression: "BBD" + SUBSTRING((DT_WSTR,4)DATEADD("Day",30,GETDATE()),1,4) + SUBSTRING((DT_WSTR,2)DATEADD("Day",30,GETDATE()),6,2) + SUBSTRING((DT_WSTR,2)DATEADD("Day",30,GETDATE()),9,2) The problem is that the "Derived Column Transformation Editor" automatically assigns a Data Type of "Unicode string[DT_WSTR]" and a length of "7". Howver, the length of a string is 11, therefore the following exception is thrown each time: [Best Before Date [112]] Error: The "component "Best Before Date" (112)" failed because truncation occurred, and the truncation row disposition on "output column "Comments" (132)" specifies failure on truncation. A truncation error occurred on the specified object of the specified component. Does anyone know why the edit is insisting on a length of 7? I don't seem to be able to change this. Many thanks, Rob.

  • Possible typos in ECMAScript 5 specification?

    Does anybody know why, at the end of section 7.6 of the ECMA-262, 5th Edition specification, the nonterminals UnicodeLetter, UnicodeCombiningMark, UnicodeDigit, UnicodeconnectorPunctuation, and UnicodeEscapeSequence are not followed by two colons? From section 5.1.6: Nonterminal symbols are shown in italic type. The definition of a nonterminal is introduced by the name of the nonterminal being defined followed by one or more colons. (The number of colons indicates to which grammar the production belongs.) Since lexical productions are distinguished by having two colons, and this is under "Lexical Conventions", I'm assuming that they meant to put the colons in. Does that sound right? Just making sure that these really are nonterminals and they really are part of the lexical grammar. EDIT: I noticed there have been votes to close this. Just to make my case about why this is programming-related, it is relevant to anyone wanting to implement an ECMAScript interpreter.

  • Android: How to restore List data when pressing the "back" button?

    Hi there, My question is about restoring complex activity related data when coming back to the activity using the "back" button". Activity A has a ListView which is connected to ArrayAdapter serving as its data source - this happens in onCreate(). By default, if I move to activity B and press "back" to get back to activity A, does my list stay intact with all the data or do I just get visual "copy" of the screen but the data is lost? What can I do when more than activities are involved? Let's say activity A starts activity B which starts activity C and then I press "back" twice to get to A. How do I ensure the integrity of the A's data when it gets back to the foreground? PrefsManager does not seem to handle complex object very intuitively. Thanks, Rob

  • Automated payment notification with php

    I'm about to integrate automated payments into a site. To date, I've successfully used paypal for a number of projects, but these have always been sites which sell physical goods, meaning I can upload the cart contents, user pays, person physically ships goods. This site is a one off payment to enable extra features on a web app. My current thinking is to go down the paypal IPN route to get a notification back and update the users account based on the successful payment. Question is in two parts: 1 - is there a better / simpler way? (any payment processor considered) 2 - does anyone know of a code library or plug in for php which will speed up my integration?     I have a usercontrol in an asp web forms application that I am working on in C#. I am binding to a repeater and outputting a field of information, named "Text", using the following syntax: <%# DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem, "Text") %> I am looking for a method that will allow my to search for a keyword within the string that is returned from above, and replace that string with a hyperlink such as <a href="www.anysite.com/keyword">keyword</a>. I'm not very familer with user controls and getting data back in this manner so I am looking for advice on how this might be best handled. Thanks!

    Hi, We're currently looking at an IT upgrade and I'm after recommendations for a tool which can do some or all of the following. SVN management (authz, web viewer, commit log, diff) Create template projects (1 click e.g. create me a microsite with this name in svn and give these people access) Reporting on code churn, time spent on tasks on a per project basis User story management Basically like Team Foundation Server but that integrates with SVN properly (reason for this - we have a wide range of skill sets and not everyone can use a TFS client). Is there a combination of Trac plugins + something that can create trac instances (a la Dreamhost's admin panel) that can acheive this. On a side note, does anyone have any experience of version controlling designery type files - e.g. PSDs, Illustrator files. Any advice at all appreciated. Cheers, Rob

    Hi I have a SSIS package that copies data from table A to table B and sets a flag in table A so that the same data is not copied subsequently. This works great by using the following as the SQL command text on the ADO Net Source object: update transfer set ProcessDateTimeStamp = GetDate(), LastUpdatedBy = 'legacy processed' output inserted.* where LastUpdatedBy = 'legacy' and ProcessDateTimeStamp is not null The problem I have is that I need to run a similar data copy but from two sources table, joined on a primary / foreign key - select from table A join table B update flag in table A. I don't think I can use the technique above because I don't know where I'd put the join! Is there another way around this problem? Thanks Rob.

  • Consuming WCF from BizTalk 2006r1

    Hi I need to create an Orchestration in BizTalk 2006r1 that will consume a WCF basicHTTP web service. Does anyone have a pointers on how to do this please? The WCF service has been created by another team but I am able to request that they create an additional endpoint with binding configuration set to make calling from BizTalk SOAP adapter possible. I just created a simple test basicHTTP service that runs fine when tested from a command line client. When I got to BizTalk add web reference I am able to browse to the service but then get a message "Failed to add web reference" and it bombs out! Any help gratefully received. Thanks Rob.
