• Storyboards in ResourceDictionary

  So I would like to move my Storyboards into a ResourceDictionary file and I am having trouble doing that. I have looked everywhere and it involves making the "Resource" sharable but how do I do that in silverlight when there is no x:Shared attribute. It only gives me that error when I put in storyboards, nothing else (ex:Styles). I am using Silverlight 3 and not wpf.

  I have a little problem: the Winform control (that contains between others WPF) suddenly stopped to be displayed in Designer.   Before I start I should add I am a musician and not a native programmer, this was undertook to make my life easier. Here is the situation, at work I'm given a new csv file each which contains a list of sound files, their length, and the minimum total amount of time they must be played. I create a playlist of exactly 60 minutes, from this excel file. Each sample played the by the minimum number of instances, but spread out from each other; so there will never be a period where for where one sound is played twice in a row or in close proximity to itself. Secondly, if the minimum instances of each song has been used, and there is still time with in the 60 min, it needs to fill the remaining time using sounds till 60 minutes is reached, while adhering to above. The smallest duration possible is 15 seconds, and then multiples of 15 seconds. Here is what I came up with in python and the problems I'm having with it, and as one user said its buggy due to the random library used in it. So I'm guessing a total rethink is on the table, here is where I need your help. Whats is the best way to solve the issue, I have had a brief look at things like knapsack and bin packing algorithms, while both are relevant neither are appropriate and maybe a bit beyond me.

• How to populate a generic list of objects in C# from SQL database

  I am just learning ASP.NET c# and trying to incorporate best practices into my applications. Everything that I read says to layer my applications into DAL, BLL, UI, etc based on separation of concerns. Instead of passing datatables around, I am thinking about using custom objects so that I am loosely coupled to my data layer and can take advantage of intellisense in VS. I assume these objects would be considered DTOs? First, where do these objects reside in my layers? BLL, DAL, other? Second, when populating from SQL, should I loop through a data reader to populate the list or first fill a data table, then loop through the table to populate the list? I know you should close the database connection as soon as possible, but it seems like even more overhead to populate the data table and then loop through that for the list. Third, everything I see these days says use Linq2SQL. I am planning to learn Linq2SQL, but at this time I am working with a legacy database that doesn't have foreign keys setup and I do not have the ability to fix it atm. Also, I want to learn more about c# before I start getting into ORM solutions like nHibernate. At the same time I don't want to type out all the connection and SQL plumbing for every query. Is it ok to use the Enterprise DAAB for now?

I encountered two problems with this approach. When the ItemsSource of the DataGrid is null or an empty List, the columns won't size to fit the width of the grid but have a fixed width of about 20 pixel. • Using M2Crypto to save and load X509 certs in pem files

  I would expect that if I have a X509 cert as an object in memory, saved it as a pem file, then loaded it back in, I would end up with the same cert I started with. This seems not to be the case however. Let's call the original cert A, and the cert loaded from the pem file B. A.as_text() is identical to B.as_text(), but A.as_pem() differs from B.as_pem(). To say the least, I'm confused by this. As a side note, if A has been signed by another entity C, then A will verify against C's cert, but B will not. I've put together a tiny sample program to demonstrate what I'm seeing. When I run this, the second RuntimeError is raised. • WPF Ignoring ProgressBar Style

  Following a problem in WPF 4 where the default ProgressBar template has an off-white highlight applied causing it to dull the foreground colour, I decided to extract the template and manually edit the values to white. After doing this, I put the template as a style in App.xaml for global use and the Visual Studio designer began to use it right away. However, when I run my app, the default style is still being applied: I then tried setting the style specifically using a key, then even having it as an inline style and finally as a inline template without a wrapping style for the specific progress bar and it is still ignored. What's going wrong?   Hi, I am updating Documents on Sharepoint using List.asmx web service. But problem i am facing is: Fields are not getting Updated as some of required fields are not added. But to fill required fields i have to again Update. "ID" field is compulsary at the time of Update. Which we get only after uploading Document.( we get this id by "ows_id" attriute value) Edit : As said by "Janis Veinbergs" We can't get this ID untill document is actualy saved. So how will i update document as ID field is must for Update. If i don't Put ID Field : Error : 0x8102000aInvalid URL Parameter The URL provided contains an invalid Command or Value. Please check the URL again. If i put Null Value to it: Error :0x81020016Item does not exist The page you selected contains an item that does not exist. It may have been deleted by another user. • Using OLEDB parameters in .NET when connecting to an AS400/DB2

  I have been pulling my hair out trying to figure out what I can't get parameters to work in my query. I have the code written in VB.NET trying to do a query to an AS/400. I have IBM Access for Windows installed and I am able to get queries to work, just not with parameters. Any time I include a parameter in my query (ex. @MyParm) it doesn't work. It's like it doesn't replace the parameter with the value it should be. Here's my code: I get the following error: SQL0206: Column @MyParm not in specified tables Here's my code: Dim da As New OleDbDataAdapter Dim dt As New DataTable da.SelectCommand = New OleDbCommand da.SelectCommand.Connection = con da.SelectCommand.CommandText = "SELECT * FROM MyTable WHERE Col1 = @MyParm" With da.SelectCommand.Parameters .Add("@MyParm", OleDbType.Integer, 9) .Item("@MyParm").Value = 5 End With ' I get the error here of course da.Fill(dt) I can replace @MyParm with a literal of 5 and it works fine. What am I missing here? I do this with SQL Server all the time, but this is the first time I am attempting it on an AS400.

The only way to see the result is to change the code to $Dataset.Tables[$i] | out-string but I do not want strings, I want to have table objects to work with. When I assign what is returned by the Invoke-SQLCommand to a variable, I can see that I have an array of datarow objects but only from the first table. What happened to the second table?   I've little experience with advanced OO practices, and I want to design this properly as an exercise. I'm thinking of implementing the following, and I'm asking if I'm going about this the right way. I have a class PImage that holds the raw data and some information I need for an image file. The trivial/inelegant solution would be to have a lot of messy control flow that identifies the type of image file (.gif, .jpg, .png, etc) and then parse the header accordingly. Instead of using vector<char> data_, I was thinking of having PImage use a class, RawImageStream data_ that inherits from vector<char>. Each type of file I plan to support would then inherit from RawImageStream, e.g. RawGifStream, RawPngStream. Each RawXYZStream would encapsulate the respective header-parsing functions, and PImage would only have to do something like height_ = data_.getHeight();. Am I thinking this through correctly? How would I create the proper RawImageStream subclass for data_ to be in the PImage ctor? Is this where I could use an object factory? Anything I'm forgetting?

  I'm trying to do a seemingly simple webpage layout, but I'm hitting a wall. • Interpolation and Morphing of an image in labview and/or openCV

  I am working on an image manipulation problem. I have an overhead projector that projects onto a screen, and I have a camera that takes pictures of that. I can establish a 1:1 correspondence between a subset of projector coordinates and a subset of camera pixels by projecting dots on the screen and finding the centers of mass of the resulting regions on the camera. I thus have a map proj_x, proj_y <-- cam_x, cam_y for scattered point pairs My original plan was to regularize this map using the Mathscript function griddata. This would work fine in MATLAB, as follows [pgridx, pgridy] = meshgrid(allprojxpts, allprojypts) fitcx = griddata (proj_x, proj_y, cam_x, pgridx, pgridy); fitcy = griddata (proj_x, proj_y, cam_y, pgridx, pgridy); and the reverse for the camera to projector mapping Unfortunately, this code causes Labview to run out of memory on the meshgrid step (the camera is 5 megapixels, which apparently is too much for labview to handle) I then started looking through openCV, and found the cvRemap function. Unfortunately, this function takes as its starting point a regularized pixel-pixel map like the one I was trying to generate above. However, it made me hope that functions for creating such a map might be available in openCV. I couldn't find it in the openCV 1.0 API (I am stuck with 1.0 for legacy reasons), but I was hoping it's there or that someone has an easy trick. So my question is one of the following 1) How can I interpolate from scattered points to a grid in openCV; (i.e., given z = f(x,y) for scattered values of x and y, how to fill an image with f(im_x, im_y) ? 2) How can I perform an image transform that maps image 1 to image 2, given that I know a scattered mapping of points in coordinate system 1 to coordinate system 2. This could be implemented either in Labview or OpenCV. Note: I am tagging this post delaunay, because that's one method of doing a scattered interpolation, but the better tag would be "scattered interpolation"

• iPhone SDK UIScrollView doesn't get touch events after moving it

  Hi! I'm subclassing UIScrollView and on the start I fill this ShowsScrollView with some items. After filling it, I setup frame and contentSize to this ShowsScrollView. Everything works fine for now, i get touches events, scrolling is working.. But after rotation to landscape, I change x and y coordinates of ShowsScrollView frame, to move it from bottom to top right corner. Then I resize it (change width and height of ShowsScrollView frame) and reorder items in this scroll. At the end I setup new contentSize. Now i get touches event only on first 1/4 of scrollview, scrolling also work only on 1/4 of scrollview, but scroll all items in scrollview. After all actions I write a log: NSLog(@"ViewController: setLandscape finished: size: %f, %f content: %f,%f",scrollView.frame.size.width,scrollView.frame.size.height, scrollView.contentSize.width, scrollView.contentSize.height ); Values are correct: ViewController: setLandscape finished: size: 390.000000, 723.000000 content: 390.000000,950.000000 On rotating back to portrait, I move and resize all thing back and everything works fine.. Please help!

• Complex SQL Query similar to a z order problem

  I have a complex SQL problem in MS SQL Server, and in drawing on a piece of paper I realized that I could think of it as a single bar filled with rectangles, each rectangle having segments with different Z orders. In reality it has nothing to do with z order or graphics at all, but more to do with some complex business rules that would be difficult to explain. Howoever, if anyone has ideas on how to solve the below that will give me my solution. I have the following data: ObjectID, PercentOfBar, ZOrder (where smaller is closer) A, 100, 6 B, 50, 5 B, 50, 4 C, 30, 3 C, 70, 6 The result of my query that I want is this, in any order: PercentOfBar, ZOrder 50, 5 20, 4 30, 3 Think of it like this, if I drew rectangle A, it would fill 100% of the bar and have a z order of 6. 66666666666 AAAAAAAAAAA If I then layed out rectangle B, consisting of two segments, both segments would cover up rectangle A resulting in the following rendering: 4444455555 BBBBBBBBBB As a rule of thumb, for a given rectangle, it's segments should be layed out such that the highest z order is to the right of the lower Z orders. Finally rectangle C would cover up only portions of Rectangle B with it's 30% segment that is z order 3, which would be on the left. You can hopefully see how the is represented in the output dataset I listed above: 3334455555 CCCBBBBBBB Now to make things more complicated I actually have a 4th column such that this grouping occurs for each key: Input: SomeKey, ObjectID, PercentOfBar, ZOrder (where smaller is closer) X, A, 100, 6 X, B, 50, 5 X, B, 50, 4 X, C, 30, 3 X, C, 70, 6 Y, A, 100, 6 Z, B, 50, 2 Z, B, 50, 6 Z, C, 100, 5 Output: SomeKey, PercentOfBar, ZOrder X, 50, 5 X, 20, 4 X, 30, 3 Y, 100, 6 Z, 50, 2 Z, 50, 5 Notice in the output, the PercentOfBar for each SomeKey would add up to 100%. This is one I know I'm going to be thinking about when I go to bed tonight. Just to be explicit and have a question: What would be a query that would produce the results described above?

  I'm trying to adopt crispy-forms and bootstrap and use as much of their functionality as possible instead of inventing something over and over again. Is there a way to have inline forms functionality with crispy-forms/bootstrap like django-admin forms have? On the sreenshot below you are able to fill out data for 'Question' object and below that you are able to add data for QuestionOption objects -you are able to click the '+' icon to add as many QuestionOptions as you want. I'm not looking for a way to get the forms auto-generated from models (that's nice but not the most important) - is there a way to construct a form that will let you add 'rows' of data like django-admin does?
