• Loading a Reusable UITableViewCell from a Nib

  I am able to design custom UITableViewCells and load them just fine using the technique described in the thread found at http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=545061. However, using that method no longer allows you to init the cell with a reuseIdentifier which means you have to create whole new instances of each cell at every call. Has anyone figured out a good way to still cache particular cell types for reuses, but still be able to design them in Interface Builder?

• UITableViewCell indentation not in edit mode.

  When you enter editing mode on a grouped-style UITableView, the cells indent to show the editing control (if you aren't sure what I mean, see this picture (editing mode) http://i.imgur.com/GJXvL.png and this (non-editing mode) http://i.imgur.com/ahKYS.png). I am trying to manually indent a cell when the tableView is not in editing mode. I tried the indentationLevel property, but that just moves the text further to the right inside the cell and doesn't actually change the cell. Any ideas?

  This tutorial on mobileorchard.com uses 2 classes (or 2 sets of .h and .m) to implement core location. Can I just use everything there in my existing class? How would I do that? Also, is the - (id) init { self = [super init]; if (self != nil) { self.locationManager = [[[CLLocationManager alloc] init] autorelease]; self.locationManager.delegate = self; // send loc updates to myself } return self; } method the same as the usual initWithNib? • Wanted: How to reliably, consistently select an MKMapView annotation

  After calling MKMapView's setCenterCoordinate:animated: method (without animation), I'd like to call selectAnnotation:animated: (with animation) so that the annotation pops out from the newly-centered pushpin. For now, I simply watch for mapViewDidFinishLoadingMap: and then select the annotation. However, this is problematic. For instance, this method isn't called when there's no need to load additional map data. In those cases, my annotation isn't selected. :( Very well. I could call this immediately after setting the center coordinate instead. Ahh, but in that case it's possible that there is map data to load (but it hasn't finished loading yet). I'd risk calling it too soon, with the animation becoming spotty at best. Thus, if I understand correctly, it's not a matter of knowing if my coordinate is visible, since it's possible to stray almost a screenful of distance and have to load new map data. Rather, it's a matter of knowing if new map data needs to be loaded, and then acting accordingly. Any ideas on how to accomplish this, or how to otherwise (reliably) select an annotation after re-centering the map view on the coordinate where that annotation lives? Clues appreciated - thanks!

  I have a map annotation view that contains a rightcallout button which loads an accessory view which is a UIViewController class. I am using resuable annotations, but am wondering how I can pass updated information to my UIViewController class. Let's say I have 2 string values which map to 2 UILabels on my view. How can I update those values after the initial accessory view has already been loaded into memory as a resusable view? Any help would be appreciated.

When i debug the code it says database path "out of scope" on the break point and it does not compile the statement. • Flipping PDF pages in QuartzDemo application

  I am working on modifying the quartzdemo application so that it can show another page from a multipage pdf on tap screen event. So far I have stripped it down to the point where it displays the PDF on any page as initial page, but I can't seem to get it figured out how to make the quartzview display anything else then the initial page. I'm guessing that the pushViewController has something to do with this. I have setup an event which gets fired up fine on screen tap. The event sits in QuartzView.m and I get a simple alert on screen tap showing that the tap was registered. I would like to use this method to draw a new page instead of showing the alert, page number doesn't matter, I'll work on incrementing (page flipping) later, I need an example of how to call these methods (if its even possible). • Creating a ListView and setting the background color of a view in each row.

• Grouped UITableView Footer Sometimes Hidden On Quick Scroll

  OK, this one is a puzzler. There is one similar post but it's not similar enough to count, so I'm posting this one. :) I've got a grouped UITableView with a header and footer. The footer includes two UIButton views, side-by-side. Nothing major. Now … there is a toggle button in a UIToolbar at the bottom for more/less info in this table view. So I build my index paths to delete/insert with fade row animation, all the usual ingredients, sandwiched between beginUpdates and endUpdates calls on the UITableView … and this works fine! In also happens that my footer can sometimes be pushed off past the bottom of the display. Here's where it gets weird. If I drag my finger up the display, scrolling the view upward, I should see that footer eventually, right? Well … most of the time I do. BUT, if I flick my finger up, for a faster scroll, the footer is missing. Even if you try to tap in that area - no response. However, if I scroll back down again, just to hide that footer (or rather hide the area where the footer would normally be), and then scroll back up, it's there once again! This only happens when inserting rows. If I delete rows, the footer stays put … unless of course it was already hidden and I didn't perform the aforementioned incantation to get it back. :) I am trying to trace through this, but to no avail. I suppose tracing through scroll operations is a bit of a crazy proposition! Perhaps some creative logging … suggestions, anyone? Or is this a known issue in 3.1 where row insert/deletes are concerned? (I don't recall seeing it until 3.1.)

• NSPredicate acting strange in NSFetchedResultsController

  I feel as if this should be very simple, but it's behaving strangely. I have 3 entities, with a relationship as such Entity A <-- Entity B <<-- Entity C I have an NSFetchedResults controller and I'm trying to filter the results of Entity A using the following predicate. [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"NONE entityB.entityC == %@", self.entityC]; When I try and run the app, the output shows no results. I can alter the predicate slightly to: [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"ANY entityB.entityC == %@", self.entityC]; And it shows me only the results that I want it to filter out. Why is this happening?
