I'm looking for some advice on how to go about reading the online documentation of various packages classes and methods for java.
i mean all this stuff: http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/
Hi
I've installed solr-tomcat package on ubuntu lucid (10.04 latest).
It automatically install java and tomcat and hopefully all other dependencies.
I can access tomcat at http://localhost:8080 but not sure where to find the solr web admin
http://localhost:8180 gives me nothing.
Is this package known to work? I've read that on previous ubuntu releases the packages were broken.
Do I need to configure anything after installing the package?
Thanks
I have database migrations (with sqlalchemy-migrate) working well in my dev environment. However, I'm a little stumped about how to integrate this into my deployment process.
I'm using fabric for deployment but having some trouble scripting the migrations part. The path to the to migrations directory in site-packages is dynamic (due to changing egg version number) and I'd rather not hard code my db password into the fabfile.
Does anyone have a fabfile that plays nicely with sqlalchemy-migrate?
For those of us who use standard shared hosting packages, such as GoDaddy or Network Solutions, how do you handle datetime conversions when your hosting server (PHP) and MySQL server are in different time zones?
Also, does anybody have some best practice advice for determining what time zone a visitor to your site is in and manipulating a datetime variable appropriately?
Hi
I am having web application running in JBOSS AS 4.2.2.
Observed that jboss server automatically shuts down, and the following exception is observed in server.log
14:20:38,048 INFO [Server] Runtime shutdown hook called, forceHalt: true
14:20:38,049 INFO [Server] JBoss SHUTDOWN: Undeploying all packages
I want to enable TRACE for org.jboss.system.server.Server in jboss-log4j.xml, to hopefully get some more info when the server shuts down.
Pls let me know how to enable TRACE for org.jboss.system.server.Server in jboss-log4j.xml
Thanks in advance
I wanted to convert some xml to a magazine like pdf document. A lot like what Latext allows you to do however i was not able to find any new books or online tutorials on the subject. Is it worth investing in using this technology or not?
Also, I looked at the Apache XSL-FO project and their last release was in august 2008.
p.s. commercial packages are not an option :(
From what I've read, VS 2008 SP1 and Team Foundation Server SP1 packages are traditional service packs that require you to first install the original versions before you will be able to install the SP.
Is there a way, supported or not, to slipstream the install?
First of all, let me say I'm using LyX, though I have no problem using ERT.
Secondly, what is the most simplest way to draw a simple graph like this in Latex?
I've seen some documents with graphs and I've seen some examples, but I couldn't figure out how to just draw a simple graph - what packages do I need, etc?
Hello,

Hi,
I created a small WPF desktop application. I am thinking about how to make my application internationalized. Is there any Language Class to research (.NET 3.5 based)?
I want to load the my application language from windows region/language configuration automatically.
OR. some method to switch language from my application menu list.( no additional language package installation, assume the windowns system language packages support Chinese/English/Japanese/Korea already).
After reading through this question about Ruby diff packages, I'm still not sure how to generate a unified diff from two text files. I'm not having trouble reading each file into a string (IO.read()), but I'm not finding any package that can generate a unified diff. Does one exist? Is doing a system call to diff even an option I should consider? (I'm thinking no.)
Any help is appreciated! Thanks.
I know the obvious answer is to use virtualenv and virtualenvwrapper, but for various reasons I can't/don't want to do that.
So how do I modify this command:
pip install package_name
to make pip install the package somewhere other than the default site-packages?
Hi all, There is a problem when I used the pylibmc. When I "import pylibmc", then I'll get some error following:
ImportError: /usr/local/python2.6/lib/python2.6/site-packages/_pylibmc.so: undefined symbol: memcached_server_list.
My enviroment are Python 2.6.5, libmemcached 0.39, memcached 1.4.5
So, how can I solve it?
Thanks very much.
When I import webkit on Ubuntu 10.04 I get the following error:

I think all the packages I need are installed. Does anyone have an idea of why this is failing?
I am trying to deploy Pinax bundle of Django framework + and selected applications.
Here is my apache config:
WSGIDaemonProcess ptest python-path=/home/pinax-env/lib/python2.5/site-packages
WSGIProcessGroup ptest
WSGIScriptAlias / /home/ptest/deploy/pinax.wsgi
When I restart apache I get the following error:
Invalid option to WSGI daemon process definition
Any ideas what is wrong? I am pretty sure my virtual environment at /home/pinax-env/ works.
Is any setup required for daemon process outside of apache config?
I've been trying to do some PHP work on my snow leopard machine.. but I've found issues when I need to use PEAR packages (as symfony handles its php plugins with PEAR).
I've found some references that state that snow leopard includes PEAR.. but how come I cant find it?!
Could someone confirm this.. if if so, where is my pear?
I need to send a SOAP message (with Python SUDS) with strings encoded in 'iso-8859-2'.
Does anybody know how to do it?
SUDS raises the following exception when I invoke a method on a client with parameters encoded in 'iso-8859-2':
File "/home/bartek/myenv/lib/python2.5/site-packages/suds/sax/text.py", line 43, in __new__
result = super(Text, cls).__new__(cls, *args, **kwargs)
UnicodeDecodeError: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xc5 in position 10: ordinal not in range(128)
Using the NuGet package manager dialog at the solution level in the normal course of updating a package reference once the process is complete there is a green tick on the item and the update button disappears. However, with certain of my packages the update process completes, as far as I can tell successfully, but no green tick and the update button remains. Press it again and the next dialog shows that no projects require an update for that package.
Am I missing something here or is this a bug?
I'm using Netbeans 6.8 and the finest-grained way to run my JUnit tests from the IDE appears to be to right-click a class under Test Packages and click Test File
In Eclipse it's possible to narrow the scope to testing an individual method in a given test harness. How do I test only one individual test out of a harness in Netbeans?
The OPS4J repository is down at present and I am trying to run pax-provision using a profile for spring-dm. My question is how do I tell maven to locate the profile information from a site other than ops4j.org.
Is this possible? ideally I would like to cache all the packages from the repo especially the spring-dm details which seem never to be cached and are downloaded all the time making coding on the train and times when the site is down impossible.
Thanks
Paul
In Android documentation concerning code signing we can read: "By signing multiple applications with the same certificate and using signature-based permissions checks, your applications can share code and data in a secure manner."
How exactly such code sharing can be done? Is it possible to release main application and multiple exchangeable plugins then discover them at runtime? What does source code looks like and what are advantages over "standard" intents calls from/to different APK packages?
We've been asked to list all the software and licenses used in our organization. Without deciding the value of this request, I'd like to get my Fedora laptop to answer the question easily.
rpm -qa
Gives me a list of packages, but no license data. My next step is to take that output and write a script to query each package's license.
Anyone got an easier idea?
I am new to distutils.. I am trying to include few data files along with the package.. here is my code..
from distutils.core import setup
setup(name='Scrapper',
version='1.0',
description='Scrapper',
packages=['app', 'db', 'model', 'util'],
data_files=[('app', ['app/scrapper.db'])]
)
The zip file created after executing python setup.py sdist does not include the scrapper.db file. I have scrapper.db file in the app directory..
thanks for the help.
