  • Using ExpressionEngine or Joomla templates inside a pre-existing page?

    - by Ethan
Hey SO, So I'm new to both Joomla and Expression Engine, and want to know if I can use it like I'd like. I've already made a full site, and would like to integrate blogging into the site. The site is on CodeIgniter. Is there a way that I could create a form template for submitting a post which would then save to my Joomla/CodeIgniter DB. Then, on a different page, use a different Joomla/CodeIgniter template to display the blog in the form I would like. Note that this wouldn't necessarily be powered by EE or Joomla. From what I understand, and from all the examples I've seen, you have to make the html of the entire page inside of their templates. At worst, if neither work, is there anything I can use to do this? Thanks!

  • Hide editor-label for public property when calling EditorFor(...)?

    - by FreshCode
When calling Html.EditorFor(m => m), where m is a public class with public properties, a hidden input and a label are displayed for properties with the [HiddenInput] attribute. How can I hide the label without making it private or creating an editor template? Example public class User { [HiddenInput] public Guid ID { get; set; } // should not be displayed in editor template public string Name { get; set; } // should be editable } Undesired result for ID property by EditorFor(...) with label <div class="editor-label"> <label for="ID">ID</label> <!-- Why is this here? --> </div> <div class="editor-field"> <input id="ID" name="ID" type="hidden" value=""> </div>

  • Ignoring 'A' and 'The' when sorting with XSLT

    - by ChrisV
I would like to have a list sorted ignoring any initial definite/indefinite articles 'the' and 'a'. For instance: The Comedy of Errors Hamlet A Midsummer Night's Dream Twelfth Night The Winter's Tale I think perhaps in XSLT 2.0 this could be achieved along the lines of: <xsl:template match="/"> <xsl:for-each select="play"/> <xsl:sort select="if (starts-with(title, 'A ')) then substring(title, 2) else if (starts-with(title, 'The ')) then substring(title, 4) else title"/> <p><xsl:value-of select="title"/></p> </xsl:for-each> </xsl:template> However, I want to use in-browser processing, so have to use XSLT 1.0. Is there any way to achieve this in XLST 1.0?

  • Silverlight 4 - authentiation / authorization against custom wcf service

    - by Calanus
I have a wcf service in front of an AzMan store that passes roles and operations to clients using the following interface: [OperationContract] bool AuthenticateUser(string password, string appName); [OperationContract] string[] GetRoles(string storelocation, string appName); [OperationContract] string[] GetOperations(string storeLocation, string appName, string selectedRole); Clients connect to this service using windows authentication (but users must send their password through to reaffirm their identity). Ultimately the service delivers an array of operations that each client can perform based on their selected role. I've opened a new Silverlight Business Application and tried to understand how authentication/authorization works in this template, as well as scoured the web to find examples to how to hook my webservice to the login box already created in the template, but I am completely at a loss as how to do this! Can anyone offer any advice?

  • TreeView inside AutoCompleteBox's popup

    - by Satumba
Hi, Inspired by this post, I'm trying to use a TreeView inside the AutoCompleteBox's popup in order to show hierarchical data. Here's what i did: I Made my own TreeView that implements ISelectionAdapter (not sure it's perfect) Edit AutoCompleteBox template and change the selector to my treeview Try Bind my ViewModel to it Unfortunately this is not working. i checked my new TreeView with the same binding to the same object and it works prefectly when it's outside of a AutoCompleteBox template. Any idea? any special way to implement ISelectionAdapter for treeview? did i missed something? couldn't find any example for it on the web... Thanks.

  • Caching query results in django

    - by Marcio Cruz
I'm trying to find a way to cache the results of a query that won't change with frequency. For example, categories of products from an e-commerce (cellphones, TV, etc). I'm thinking of using the template fragment caching, but in this fragment, I will iterate over a list of these categories. This list is avaliable in any part of the site, so it's in my base.html file. Do I have always to send the list of categories when rendering the templates? Or is there a more dynamic way to do this, making the list always available in the template?

  • Technique for ensuring HTML- and URL-encoding

    - by JW
Has anyone implemented a good template system for ensuring that output is properly HTML-encoded where it makes sense? Maybe even something that recognizes when output should be URL-encoded or JSON-encoded instead? The lazy approach — just encoding all inputs — causes problems when you want to send those inputs to a database, or to a block of JavaScript code. So something a little smarter is needed. The tedious approach — putting the proper encoding function around each piece of data on the template — works, but it's easy for developers to forget to do it. Is there a good approach that makes it easy for developers, and ensures that the right encoding is done? I was listening to one of the SO podcasts, and Joel tossed out an idea about using typed data to enforce a difference between HTML-encoded strings and non-encoded strings. Maybe that could be a starting point. I'm looking more for a strategy than for an implementation in a particular language (although I'd be happy to hear about implementations that already exist and work).

  • In Django-pagination Paginate does not working...

    - by mosg
    Hello. Python 2.6.2 django-pagination 1.0.5 Question: How to force pagination work correctly? The problem is that {% paginate %} does not work, but other {% load pagination_tags %} and {% autopaginate object_list 10 %} works! Error message appeared, when I add {% paginate %} into html page: TemplateSyntaxError at /logging Caught an exception while rendering: pagination/pagination.html What I have done: Install django-pagination without any problems. When I do in python import pagination, it's work well. Added pagination to INSTALLED_APP in settings.py: INSTALLED_APPS = ( # ..., 'pagination', ) Added in settings.py: TEMPLATE_CONTEXT_PROCESSORS = ( "django.core.context_processors.auth", "django.core.context_processors.debug", "django.core.context_processors.i18n", "django.core.context_processors.media", "django.core.context_processors.request" ) Also add to settings.py middleware: MIDDLEWARE_CLASSES = ( # ... 'pagination.middleware.PaginationMiddleware', ) Add to top in views.py: from django.template import RequestContext And finally add to my HTML template page lines: {% load pagination_tags %} ... {% autopaginate item_list 50 %} {% for item in item_list %} ... {% endfor %} {% paginate %} Thanks. PS: some edits required, because I can't django code style work well here :)

  • Deploying Django at Dreamhost

    - by Imran
    I'm trying to get the Poll tutorial working at my Dreamhost account (I don't have any prior experience of deploying Django). I downloaded the script I found here (http://gabrielfalcao.com/2008/12/02/hosting-and-deploying-django-apps-on-dreamhost/) at my home directory and executed it. Now I have Python 2.5 and Django in ~/.myroot/ and my Django projects directory is ~/projects/ Here's the content of ~/projects/ directory (I copied the polls/ and and templates/polls/ directories myself). projects/ |-- admin_media -> /home/imran2140/.myroot/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/django/contrib/admin/media |-- dispatch.fcgi |-- polls | |-- __init__.py | |-- __init__.pyc | |-- admin.py | |-- admin.pyc | |-- models.py | |-- models.pyc | |-- polls.db | |-- urls.py | |-- urls.pyc | |-- views.py | `-- views.pyc |-- script_templates | |-- dispatch.template | `-- htaccess.template `-- templates `-- polls |-- detail.html |-- index.html `-- results.html 5 directories, 17 files Now what should I do to get the Polls app working? Update I finally got a "Hello World" Django app working with Passanger WSGI. It worked fine with both Server's default Python 2.3.5 and my installed Python 2.5.2.   • Changing One Tag Name in an XML File Using XSLT

    - by AlbertoPL
Is it possible for me to have a conditional in XSLT such that I find and replace only the FIRST tag of a particular tag name? For example, I have an XML file with many tags. I would like to replace the first of these tags with . The rest should be left alone. How would I do this in my transform? What I currently have is this: <xsl:template match="title"> <PageTitle> <xsl:apply-templates /> </PageTitle> </xsl:template> which finds all tags and replaces them with PageTitle. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Rails - embedded polymorphic comment list + add comment form - example?

    - by odigity
Hey, all. Working on my first Rails app. I've searched all around - read a bunch of tutorials, articles, and forum posts, watched some screencasts, and I've found a few examples that come close to what I'm trying to do (notably http://railscasts.com/episodes/154-polymorphic-association and ep 196 about nested model forms), but not exactly. I have two models (Podcast and BlogPost) that need to be commentable, and I have a Comment model that is polymorphically related to both. The railscasts above had a very similar example (ep 154), but Ryan used a full set of nested routes, so there were specific templates for adding and editing comments. What I want to do is show the list of comments right on the Podcast or BlogPost page, along with an Add Comment form at the bottom. I don't need a separate add template/route, and I don't need the ability to edit, only delete. This is a pretty common design on the web, but I can't find a Rails example specifically about this pattern. Here's my current understanding: I need routes for the create and delete actions, of course, but there are no templates associated with those. I'm also guessing that the right approach is to create a partial that can be included at the bottom of both the Podcast and BlogPost show template. The logical name for the partial seems to me to be something like _comments.html.haml. I know it's a common convention to have the object passed to the partial be named after the template, but calling the object 'comments' seems to not match my use case, since what I really need to pass is the commentable object (Podcast or BlogPost). So, I guess I'd use the locals option for the render partial call? (:commentable = @podcast). Inside the partial, I could call commentable.comments to get the comments collection, render that with a second partial (this time with the conventional use case, calling the partial _comment.html.haml), then create a form that submits to... what? REST-wise, it should be a POST to the collection, which would be /podcast|blogpost/:id/comments, and I think the helper for that is podcast_comments_path(podcast) if it were a podcast - not sure what to do though, since I'm using polymorphic comments. That would trigger the Comment.create action, which would then need to redirect back to the podcast|blogpost path /podcast|blogpost/:id. It's all a bit overwhelming, which is why I was really hoping to find a screencast or example that specifically implements this design.

  • JAutodoc for Eclipse

    - by bizso09
Hi, I'm trying to generate javadoc with JAutodoc 1.7 for Eclipse 3.5. I've sucessfully created templates for files, classes, methods. However, on parameters and exceptions I get the default @param and @throws tags generated even if I change the template in preferences/JAutodoc/templates/parameters. This is incompatible with the coding standards they have given us. Any help? Btw, I tried to use the default eclipse comment template but I couldn't find any enclosing_method_arguments variable in my version. Any ideas why that might be?

  • What is purpuse of T4 Generator in T4toolbox

    - by Fred Yang
I am using T4toolbox, I am confused what the generator is for. I can run the following public class Generator1 : Generator { protected override void RunCore() { Template1 t = new Template1(); t.Output.File = "t3.txt"; t.Render(); } } or I can run t4 script directly like the following. Template1 t = new Template1(); t.Output.File = "t3.txt"; t.Render(); But I can do the same using t4 script without generator as well. So I mean can do the same thing with two approach "script -- generator -- template" and "script -- template", am I missing something? Thanks

  • Wireframe mock-up software

    - by Dave Jarvis
Requirements Looking for wireframe mock-up software for web apps with the following constraints: Desktop application (supports Linux) (can be online) Export all pages to separate image files (PNG or SVG preferred) Template for all pages Drag and drop standard HTML widgets for <forms> Tabbed panels (that allow content on the different tabs) Shuttle controls Saves in an XML format (XSLT could convert to HTML) Widget alignment and resizing (relative to other widgets) Under $100.00 USD Examples That come close: Cacoo - Not a desktop application; does not have a true tabbed panel widget Pencil - Export feature has serious bugs (missing text); no template? Balsamiq - Installation proved cantankerous on Linux (due to Adobe AIR) Mockingbird - No shuttle controls; no auto-resize of widgets Pencil & paper - Not a good look for a formal document presented to clients Any others that meet the requirements?

  • Web Site in solution where "Rebuild Solution" compile succeeds cannot launch debugger

    - by fordareh
I have a solution that includes a Web Site (created using the web site template not the web app project template - converting isn't an option, btw). When I rebuild all, the compile succeeds, but strangely displays 3 errors, all of which are "Could not get dependencies for project reference 'PROJNAME'". When I try to launch the debugger, I get the "There were build errors." dialogue. Two questions: If I choose the 'Yes' option in the debug error dialogue to run the last successful build, will it run on the code that my Rebuild All just compiled? How do I resolve this issue? I checked this post and am disheartened by my prospects. What is strange, though, is that I added these same projects to a separate web site solution that compiled/debugged fine, removed the test web site and re-added the target website I would like to debug, and it failed in the same manner. Is there a secret web site .proj file for .NET web sites? http://stackoverflow.com/questions/863379/could-not-get-dependencies-for-project-reference

  • Google App Engine (python): TemplateSyntaxError: 'for' statements with five words should end in 'rev

    - by Phil
This is using the web app framework, not Django. The following template code is giving me an TemplateSyntaxError: 'for' statements with five words should end in 'reversed' error when I try to render a dictionary. I don't understand what's causing this error. • Delayed "rendering" of WPF/Silverlight Dependency Properties?

    - by Aardvark
Is there a way to know the first time a Dependency Property is accessed through XAML binding so I can actually "render" the value of the property when needed? I have an object (class derived from Control) that has several PointCollection Dependency Properties that may contain 100's or 1000's of points. Each property may arrange the points differently for use in different types shapes (Polyline, Polygon, etc - its more complicated then this, but you get the idea). Via a Template different XAML objects use TemplateBinding to access these properties. Since my object uses a Template I never know what XAML shapes may be in use for my object - so I never know what Properties they may or may not bind to. I'd like to only fill-in these PointCollections when they are actually needed. Normally in .NET I'd but some logic in the Property's getter, but these are bypassed by XAML data binding. I need a WPF AND Silverlight compatible solution. I'd love a solution that avoids any additional complexities for the users of my object.

  • Django: reverse lookup URL of feeds?

    - by Santa
I am having trouble doing a reverse URL lookup for Django-generated feeds. I have the following setup in urls.py: feeds = { 'latest': LatestEntries, } urlpatterns = patterns('', # ... # enable feeds (RSS) url(r'^feeds/(?P<url>.*)/$', 'django.contrib.syndication.views.feed', {'feed_dict': feeds}, name='feeds_view'), ) I have tried using the following template tag: <a href="{% url feeds_view latest %}">RSS feeds</a> But the resulting link is not what want (http://my.domain.com/feeds//). It should be http://my.domain.com/feeds/latest/. For now, I am using a hack to generate the URL for the template: <a href="http://{{ request.META.HTTP_HOST }}/feeds/latest">RSS feeds</a> But, as you can see, it clearly is not DRY. Is there something I am missing?
