  Is it considered crazy to store common SQL queries for my web app in a database for use in execution? Or is that common practice? Or is it impossible? My thinking is, this way, I avoid hard-coding SQL into my application files, and add another level of abstraction. Is this crazy? Is this what a stored procedure is? Or is that something else?

  I am thinking of using McClim for an application, where can I find a tutorial that covers buttons, keyboard/mouse I/O, drawing images, etc. STFW for mcclim tutorial and clim tutorial didn't help much. • PHP or MySql error; Possible to display an "error page" in browser?

  My classifieds website uses mainly PHP and MySql. On error, (for example if a variable isn't found), I would like to have an error-page to show, is this possible? And I mean for every error to point to the same error-page. I am thinking about htaccess, but maybe there are other ways also? Same with MySql, how is it done there? Thanks

• Suggestions/pointers for Post/Get to an .ASP (or .ASPX) page from a desktop app

  I'm planning to have a desktop app interact with some .ASP or .ASPX pages on a server. I've only done a little bit with .asp pages and I'm thinking I'd just Post or Get a URL with some variables: MySite.com/Functions.asp?FunctionName=?Paramater1=somevalue?Parameter2=... I'm wondering if there is any better way to go about this? Am I missing something? Is there perhaps a better way to go about this?

  In my code, java treeset iteration is the dominant time factor. In looking at the system I believe that it is n*log(n) complexity. Can anyone verify this? I am thinking that by providing links backward from child node to parent node I could improve the performance.

  This question will probably end in a facepalm, but I've tried for a while and am still stuck despite reading through the hyperspec. Basically what I want to do is something like (format t "~{|~{ ~5d~}|~%~}" '((1 23 2 312) (23 456 1 7890))) but instead of hard-coding the 5 it should be calculated from the list (length of longest element from any nested list + 1) to give something like | 1 23 2 312| | 23 456 1 7890| Maybe I'm thinking way too complicated here and there is an easier way to do what I want, but I think I ran myself into a mental corner that I can't get out of.

  What happen untill now is this... Any line happens once, and if i use a while(1) or while (nFlags == MK_LBUTTON) its working as it should but i get a crash... The other problem, or mabye the same one is the delay if i will be able to do it, mabye using while() with Timer()????? I was thinking about Timer() to recall the function with delay but i can't call OnLButtonDown() becouse as i understand it only a messege can call it with the arguments..... 10x

  Is there a way to only show the items that are older than a certain date in a php mysql array? I'm using this query method and sorting by lastpost_cl: $query="SELECT * FROM properties ORDER BY lastpost_cl"; $result=mysql_query($query); $num = mysql_num_rows ($result); mysql_close(); and I was thinking the way of checking the time would be: if (time() <= strtotime($lastpost_cl)) { } How can I combine the two and only show lastpost_cl that are older that the current time?

• Validating event usurps button click on Windows Form

  I have a ComboBox and a Save button on my Windows Form. When I change the selected value in the ComboBox then click the Save button, the ComboBox validating event fires but the button click is lost. When the selected value is valid this results in the user thinking they have saved the change when in fact they have not. Why is the button click lost if the ComboBox is valid? Is there a work around?

The only problem is that, for all the rest, I'm using a Postgres database. Is there a way to link The account controller to a User class defined by me?   Is it possible to change or assign new parent to the Model instance that already in datastore? For example I need something like this task = db.get(db.Key(task_key)) project = db.get(db.Key(project_key)) task.parent = project task.put() but it doesn't works this way because task.parent is built-in method. I was thinking about creating a new Key instance for the task but there is no way to change key as well. Any thoughts?

• Accessing Erlang business layer via REST

  For a college project i'm thinking of implementing the business layer in Erlang and then accessing it via multiple front-ends using REST. I would like to avail of OTP features like distributed applications, etc. My question is how do I expose gen_server calls/casts to other applications? Obviously I could make RPC calls via language specific "bridges" like OTP.net or JInterface, but I want a consistent way to access it like REST.
