• Building error in Eclipse with build.xml

  I am working on a Java project with Eclipse. This project requires a second project (not mine), named sams in its build-path. The sams is provided with a build.xml file and it should generate some code using Apache CXF when building it. • deserialize Json using JavaScriptSerializer Custom Types

  I have a RESTFUL WCF service returning a .NET custom type as json string. I am using .NET 3.5 framework and I am using JavaScriptSerializer for deserializing it in to my custom type. Serialization to json is handled by WCF. using (WebResponse resp = req.GetResponse()) { using (System.IO.StreamReader sreader = new System.IO.StreamReader(resp.GetResponseStream())) { string jsonString = sreader.ReadToEnd(); CustomType myType = new CustomType(); System.Web.Script.Serialization.JavaScriptSerializer serializer = new System.Web.Script.Serialization.JavaScriptSerializer(); myType = serializer.Deserialize<CustomType>(jsonString); return myType; } } The problem is that, I have a property (or element) of the CustomType which is generic list of another custom type ChildObject. They are in different namespaces. When I deserialize using the code above, I get all the properties of the CustomType myType including a list of ChildObject. But all the properties of the ChildObject is null. The string returned from the stream reader has all the values for the ChildObject. the values are lost when deserializing. Can anyone help me with this please?

• Give back full control to a user on a disk from another computer

  I have my friend's hard drive mounted externally. After messing with the permissions with TAKEOWN so I could fix some viruses, I have full control over their drive. The problem is, now it's stuck in a "autochk not found" reboot sequence. I think the problem is that the boot sector is invisible to the drive now. So my question is, How can I use icacls to give back the full ownership, when the user I am giving it to is not on my machine? I ran the TAKEOWN command from my windows 7 laptop, their machine is a windows xp Professional with three partitions, I only altered the one that has the boot sector. • Using Directives, Namespace and Assembly Reference - all jumbled up with StyleCop!

  I like to adhere to StyleCop's formatting rules to make code nice and clear, but I've recently had a problem with one of its warnings: All using directives must be placed inside of the namespace. My problem is that I have using directives, an assembly reference (for mocking file deletion), and a namespace to juggle in one of my test classes: using System; using System.IO; using Microsoft.Moles.Framework; using Microsoft.VisualStudio.TestTools.UnitTesting; [assembly: MoledType(typeof(System.IO.File))] namespace MyNamespace { //Some Code } The above allows tests to be run fine - but StyleCop complains about the using directives not being inside the namespace. Putting the usings inside the namespace gives the error that "MoledType" is not recognised. Putting both the usings and the assembly reference inside the namespace gives the error 'assembly' is not a valid attribute location for this declaration. Valid attribute locations for this declaration are 'type'. All attributes in this block will be ignored. It seems I've tried every layout I can but to no avail - either the solution won't build, the mocking won't work or StyleCop complains! Does anyone know a way to set these out so that everything's happy? Or am I going to have to ignore the StyleCop warning in this case?

All rights reserved. So I know I have the path at least set somewhere. I can run that class from command line and it works.   I am having trouble using serialization in Java. I've searched the web for a solution but haven't found an answer yet. The problem is this - I have a Java library (I have the code and I export it to an archive prior to executing the code) which I need to use with two differents JVMs. One JVM is on the server (Ubuntu, running Java(TM) JRE SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_09-b05)) and the other on Android 2.3.3. I compiled the library in Java 1.6. Now, I am trying to import to the client, an object exported from the server, but I receive this error: java.io.InvalidClassException: [Lweka.classifiers.functions.MultilayerPerceptron$NeuralEnd;; Incompatible class (SUID): [Lweka.classifiers.functions.MultilayerPerceptron$NeuralEnd;: static final long serialVersionUID =-359311387972759020L; but expected [Lweka.classifiers.functions.MultilayerPerceptron$NeuralEnd;: static final long serialVersionUID =1920571045915494592L; I do have an explicit serial version UID declared on the class MultilayerPerceptron$NeuralEnd, like this: protected class NeuralEnd extends NeuralConnection { private static final long serialVersionUID = 7305185603191183338L; } Where NeuralConnection implements the java.io.Serializable interface. Is it possible to get around this class-path size bug?

• Managing lots of callback recursion in Nodejs

  In Nodejs, there are virtually no blocking I/O operations. This means that almost all nodejs IO code involves many callbacks. If I make thousands of individual writes to my key-value store with thousands of callbacks, will my program eventually crash? Am I misunderstanding or underestimating the impact? If not, is there a way to get around this while still using Nodejs' callback coding style?

• Suppress Eclipse compiler errors in in a plug-in

  Hi, I'm currently working on a plug-in for Eclipse that translates some custom Java code (which doesn't necessarily run/compile), to runnable Java code. In particular, the plug-in allows code to be written using classes created or imported during the translation. In general, the pre-translation code runs/compiles fine provided the writer uses import statements at the top of their class files. However, it would be convenient for my users if it was not necessary to import these classes. At the moment, the lack of import statements results in (obvious) compiler errors. Would it be possible to empower my plug-in to either a) suppress/ignore these errors, or b) have Eclipse find these classes automatically, without the use of import statements? I should point out that the translated code would these include the required import statements--but this is not a problem for me. I'm also aware that this could lead to lazy programmers and some bad habits. To clarify, consider the following example of pre-translated code: File f = new File("Somefilename.txt"); which clearly requires the possibly imported class File. Without an import statement (import java.io.File;), Eclipse reports that File can not be resolved to a type. This is the error I'd like to hide in files pertaining to projects created for use with my plug-in. (The translated code would include import java.io.File; so that it would be runnable) In closing, I should point out I'm not necessarily looking for code (though I wouldn't be opposed to it), but rather some links to some relevant tutorials (if they exist), or helpful tips/ideas. Also, as this is my first plug-in, it's entirely possible that what I'd like to do is not possible and that I don't realize it--if this is the case, please let me know, preferably with some justification. • Problems saving a photo to a file

  Man, I am still not able to save a picture when I send an intent asking for a photo to be taken. My onActivityResult() then gets called. But my file doesn't get written. The URI is: file:///data/data/com.droidstogo.boom1/files/parked.jpg I can create thumbnail OK (by not putting the extra into the Intent), and can write that file OK, and later read it back). Can anyone see what simple mistake I am making? Nothing obvious shows up in the logcat - the camera is clearly taking the picture. Thanks, Peter

  I am using Java port of ImageMagick called JMagick .I need to be able to create a new image and write an arbitrary text chunk into it.The docs are very poor and what I managed to get so far is to write text into the image which comes from IO.Also , in all the examples I have found it seems like the very first operation ,before writing new image data , is always loading of an existing image into ImageInfo instance.How do I create an image from scratch with JMagick and then write a text into it?
