    I'm trying to write (or just find an existing) PHP method that can take a link and extract the url. The trick is, it needs to hold under the weight of strange looking domains like: www.champa.kku.ac.th Looking at this one myself with human eyes, I still guessed it incorrectly: thought the domain would be kku.ac.th but that gives a dns error when visiting. So anyone knows of a good way to reliably extract the domain from url: http://site.com/hello.php http://site.com.uk/hello.php http://subdomain.site.com/hello.php http://subdomain.site.com.uk/hello.php http://www.champa.kku.ac.th/hello.php // and even the one I couldn't tell

  • Need a good website URL to test against

    I need a URL to just test basic http connectivity. It needs to be consistent and: Always be up Never change drastically due to IP or user agent. (IE: 301 Location redirect/ huge difference in content... minor would be tolerable) The URL itself has a consistent content-length. (IE: it doesn't vary from by 2kb at most, ever) A few examples, yet none match all 3 criteria: One example of always up: www.google.com (yet it 301 redirects based on IP location). Another good one is http://www.google.com/webhp?hl=en. but the problem there is that based on a given holiday, the content-length can really vary.

    Hi all! I'm having trouble displaying SOME images on my android app. Just normal display image from certain URL. Some images works, some just doesn't work. For instance try displaying this image from URL: http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/7379/tronlegacys7i7wsjf.jpg It doesn't work. Doesn't even work in emulator. Could it be the EXIF info for the image is problematic? Can anyone try to see they are able to display that image on android app, and share the code/method to display that image on screen?   • Need url's to be non secure when moving away from a secured link (without hardcoded url's in html)?

    I have an asp.net site. It has an order form which is accessible at https://secure.example.com/order.aspx. The links on the site do not include the domain name. So for example the home page is 'default.aspx'. The issue is that if I click on a link like the home page from the secure page, the url becomes https://secure.example.com/default.aspx instead of http://www.example.com/default.aspx. What's a good way to handle this? The scheme should automatically work using any domain name based on where it's launched from. So if the site is launched from 'localhost', moving away from the secured page, the url's should be http://localhost/... The navigation links are in a master page.

  • Magento - Checkout URL doesn't refresh

    I'm facing a very strange problem. AS far as I know, Magento changes the URL at the checkout. From step 1 to Step 5/6 the URL changes when you go forward or backward. Or if you use continue or the back button, but.... at our installation it stays with "checkout/onepage/" the whole time... It doesn't change. Does someone has the same problem or does someone got maybe a hint how to solve this problem? Thank you!

I have another ActionResult just like this except taking in an int id as parameter and it works fine with the first url format.

I already have the code working that handles a global Windows hotkey and then checks to see if the foreground IntPtr is from a browser. If so, I am able to obtain the System.Diagnostics.Process objects that maps to the browser. At this point, I would like to obtain the URL(s) from the browser. Thank you, G

    I'm currently in the process of putting up my first website for public use. I am using the codeigniter framework in order to do this, but I am having trouble loading the controllers from the url. I currently have the default codeigniter installment that you download trying to get things to work. The controller welcome is loaded by default, but when I try to load it through the url it doesn't work. I was having the same problem with the site that I had uploaded earlier.   • Having trouble getting GET variables from url.

    Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with this algorithm to extract the get variables from a url and print them each on a new line like: x=y z=hello etc. but instead it prints a seemingly random section of the url with no newlines to the file.     I wanted to know if I can change my open ID url from say: www.abc.com/username to www.pqr.com/username while the relying party still thinks I am the same user? or even say: www.abc.com/something/username to www.abc.com/somethingelse/username I intuitively think that this is not possible since if it were, then it is possible for anyone to spoof anyone else's identity. Also, does Open ID specify which fields the relying party should use to ensure secure determination of the user's identity? For example, I would expect it to club the URL provided with the username/email address sent back by the Open ID server.

    I am building a firefox extension. In this extension, I want to see the URLs of any new webpage that the user visits. The webpage can be in a different tab or window than the current tab that the user is viewing (this should also catch the URL of pop-ups). Is there a way to find when firefox makes a GET or POST request and grab the URL? An alternative that I am trying to avoid is going through all the tabs and manually check to see if they have loaded a new page. Thanks

  • CSS and JQuery: spaces inside image name break code of url()

    Hi, I have a page that is supposed to display a larger version of an image when hovered over a thumbnail. I have a 'div' with an ID and the JQuery code is as following: $(document).ready(function(){ $('img').hover(function() { var src = $("#im" + this.id).attr("src"); $('#viewlarge').css('backgroundImage','url(' + src +')'); return false; }); }); The images I use, are generated by a Ruby script that "generate" an image with a similar, yet different id. However, sometimes, photo's are uploaded that have "spaces" inside. My developer tools tell me that the background-image is not set correctly, yet the image path is correct and the browser don't have problems finding the image. My question is, can I somehow sanitize the url 'src', so spaces won't be a problem? I am aware of doing this server side, yet I would like to know how to do this with JQuery/JS too. Thanks!

    I am new to HTML so this question might sound a bit lame. Anyways I have a saved webpage on my desktop that when i open it in google chrome i want it to show a specific URL instead of its current location. Any ideas how i might get this to work? I tried using the history.pushState but i have no idea why it is not working.
