• XNA: SpriteFont question

  Hi everyone, I need some help with the SpriteFont. I want a different font for my game, other than Kootenay. So, I edit the SpriteFont xml, i.e: <FontName>Kootenay</FontName> or <FontName>Arial</FontName> No problem with Windows fonts, or other XNA redistributable fonts pack. However, I want to use other fonts, that I downloaded and installed already, they are TTF or OTF, both supported by XNA. My problem is, I cant use them, I got this error: The font family "all the fonts i tried" could not be found. Please ensure the requested font is installed, and is a TrueType or OpenType font. So, checking at the windows fonts folder, I check the properties and details of the fonts, I try all the names they have, and but never works. Maybe I need some kind of importing or installing in order to use them, I dont know, and I hope you guys can help me, thanks!

But when I try something like $cclive <url> 2>&1 | zenity --progress But when I execute the command line but it not seems to work. Any idea of how I can do that ? Not exactly same, has a few more features to it too but I can't really get my head around the whole freelancer.com site. I have built a social networking site from scratch which is 70% of Facebook and 20% Google+ in about 5 months with raw PHP, JS, CSS and Ajax. Back at the university, one of my professors used to say that we have to strive to achieve "Low coupling and high cohesion". I understand the meaning of low coupling. It means to keep the code of separate components separately, so that a change in one place does not break the code in another. But what is meant by high cohesion. If it means integrating the various pieces of the same component well with each other, I dont understand how that becomes advantageous. What is meant by high cohesion? Can an example be explained to understand its benefits?

• USB Mouse sleeping after 5 seconds when on battery

  My usb mouse sleeps after 5 seconds of inactivity when running on battery power. It wakes uo again when i press any button on the mouse. This is really annoying. I have made lsusb, and I noticed my mouse is Bus 001 Device 012: ID 04d9:2083 Holtek Semiconductor, Inc. I have checked my /sys/bus/usb/devices/usb1/power/autosuspend but it is already set to 0, and the directory usb1 has many subdirectories which also have autosuspend files, and i dont know how to edit them. Also, I would like a permanent solution, which would work for any mouse, on any of my 3 usb ports. Any ideas? Using: Ubuntu 12.04 64bit

• Folding at home refusing connection?

  I am having a slight problem. I love contributing to folding at home, if some of you dont know what it is, it's a program that downloads work from the stanford university servers, has your computer process it (takes about 12 hours for 1 assignment depending on the processor, and then uploads it back. The problem with mine is that when I run FAHControl in terminal, it says Error 111 connection refused. This doesnt happen when i run folding at home on windows. Can someone tell me how to fix this?   i screwed up big time. i changed the permission of /etc in ubuntu 11.10 by using following command sudo chmod 665 /etc now when ever i try to use sudo it gives the following error: sudo: can't open /etc/sudoers: Permission denied sudo: no valid sudoers sources found, quitting any help will be greatly appreciated because i am new to ubuntu....i have already tried using su but it doesnt even login as root and even i give it the right password it always say Authentication Failure......i dont want to login as root coz its risky and even a newbie in linux like me is not stupid enough to have such control...i just want to use my sudo again......i have tried to go into recovery mode as well but i cant get in to recovery mode......HELP please!!!

  So I have a online portfolio that is available at mervin-ux-portfolio.com but I am planning to change hosts since the current host I am hosting it with is hitting me with a very high yearly renewal rate. When I was inquiring about domain transfers ,,they told me that since I had not initiated the domain transfer within 14 days of the expiry of the domain ,they cannot do it immediately and it would take about two weeks to to release the domain name. Since I dont like the idea of my site being down for like 2 weeks ,I was wondering if I should start afresh with a new domain on a new host and what were the potential dangers of that ( I have the entire site backup,so creating a replica of the site on the new host wont be hard) I also wont be losing any business or work since I work full time currently but I was just wondering about the challenges in terms of getting my domain name back to the top of search results and basically getting it out there assuming I go the new domain name approach. I know this is strictly not an UX question but I was hoping people could give some suggestions on what I should do

  I'm n00ber than any n00b you ever seen, so bear with me... I just downloaded wubi and installed ubuntu 12.10 along with Windows 7 on the same HDD. Linux works fine, but doesnt show files from drive C (on which it is installed). I really need C as it contains all my files. I did df -h in the terminal. It does show the drive. /dev/sda2 577G 220G 358G 38% /host Now I tried to mount the drive sudo mount /dev/sda2 and got the response mount: /dev/sda2 already mounted or /host busy mount: according to mtab, /dev/sda2 is already mounted on /host I dont know what that means. The drive doesnt show up in HOME FOLDER. What am i supposed to do now?

  The Java implementors seem slow to adopt language improvements, for example compare C# with full closures, expression trees, LINQ etc.. to Java, and even the push back of some stuff to Java 8 will still leave it behind the current implementation of C#. However since I dont intend to use either Java or C# that particular language war isnt of interest too much, im more concerned with the JVM vs CLR. Is this lagging-behind also applicable to the JVM? Will Scala, Clojure etc.. will they be able to continue to innovate or score optimal performance in the face of slowly progressing underlying VM such as JVM? Is Clojure/Scala restrained at present by JVM limitations?

I have read up a bunch of stuff on Design patterns J2EE Web services( soap and rest) spring and hibernate Java Concurrency - advanced features like Task and Executors. I would now like to do a project combining this stuff (over my free time of corse) to get a better understanding of these things and to kind of make an end to end software (to learn the best design principles etc + svn, maven). Any good project ideas would be really appreciated. I just wanna build this stuff to learn so I dont really mind re-inventing the wheel. Also, anything related to data mining would be an added bonus (fits with my research) but absolutly not necesary (since this project is more to learn to do large scale software developement)

  Alright... So I have a 15" dell studio xps with a 1080p screen. Everything seems really small with 1080p, in 720 everything is fine but just looks very low res. So I definitely want to get the full resolution the display can give me but dont want everything so small. help?? EDIT: Well yes higher resolution means more pixels.   I installed ubuntu 13.04 alongside windows xp professional. When I tried to upgrade to 13.10 from 13.04, it took some time to download and then it started cleaning the files and then message was displayed that xp cleaned (this msg was seen by my younger brother and then he cut the power off) . Now the computer when starts displays this screen and I dont know how to proceed. To anyone giving solution I would like tell you that I prefer xp over linux(personal reasons). So is there any way to get out of this problem, neithet I can open xp nor linux?

• Fixing Mobility Radeon HD3650 driver in 12.04 LTS

  Okay, I know the subject has been discussed many times, but i dont find any of the instructions working. Most promising guide was here https://launchpad.net/~makson96/+archive/fglrx ive also tried https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BinaryDriverHowto/ATI because since the driver installation was written on other sites as well, this page included a "patch" file, but since im unaware how to patch installations, im out of luck. If i understand correctly, the patch should fix the driver and eliminate constant error messages. My system is 64bit 12.04 LTS and card is Mobility Radeon HD3650. Usual installation of the driver results in weird display resoulution (1100x something, while it should be 1440x900) and even 3d games did not work. Can anyone give me any more pointers? Much appreciated!

  Dear Linux and Ubuntu pros, I have here a company notebook, and because the hdd is full encrypted I cannot install an extra partition for another system that I would like to use in my free time. And I really need another system, because this crap windows here with that much of antivirus, antispyware, anti-whatever on it is sooo slow and anoying. What can I do? I could use an external usb hdd with another system. Because I would like to handle big files and so on, I dont want to use an sub stick. An usb 2.5hdd + ubuntu is what I think the best option. Here are my question: Do I have to note something? Is Ubuntu running well on an external hdd? Do I have big performance problems (because of the usb hdd)? Should I buy a very fast hdd for much money or is it not that important? Any suggestions? Thank you :)
