  At the moment I have the following code which works fine. label = new JLabel(panelLabel,SwingConstants.CENTER); outputPanel.add(label,BorderLayout.CENTER); I get the text in the center of the panel (in terms of the left-right position as well as in terms of the top-bottom). Now I want to set the position to the bottom (and center in terms of "left-right"). I tried to use SOUTH instead of the CENTER in the first line. Compiler does not complains but during the execution i get IllegalArgumentException: HorizontalAlignment. What is that?

  Hi, I am trying to do a Z-Index reordering of videoObjects stored in a vector. The plan is to identify the videoObject which is going to be put on the first position of the vector, erase it and then insert it at the first position. Unfortunately the erase() function always causes bad memory access.   I'm having trouble adding an XmlElement to a non-root element in PowerShell. Basically, given this xml: <clubs> <club name="boca" position="1"> <field>bombonera</field> <field>bombonerita</field> </club> <club name="racing" position="19"> <field>cilindro</field> </club> </clubs> I create an element, $new = $clubs.CreateElement("Barracas") When I try to add this element to a non-root node i.e. $clubs.clubs.club += $new I get Cannot set "club" because only strings can be used as values to set XmlNode properties. • Equal height divs with footer always at bottom of tallest div

  I was wondering if this were possible, and if it is the best way to go about this: example image (since I'm not allowed to post pics yet ^^) So, not only does each column have to be of equal height, but each column also has its own individual footer. I saw this post httx://stackoverflow.com/questions/1347366/div-at-bottom-of-window-and-adaptable-height-div (I also can't post more than one link....) - how could I rework this technique to apply to the bottom of the divs and not the bottom of the window? *edit - each column will have content that will constantly change and be of variable height. I'm thinking I could just figure out the equal height columns first, then just absolute position a footer div within those columns. Does its parent div then have to be position: relative?

• Circular NSSlider with stop (non-continuous)

  I am not sure how to phrase this better as a title but I need to make an NSSlider that functions as a normal volume knob. At the moment it will spin around as many times as I hold the mouse down and move it around the control. I need it to stop at the "0" position and the "100" position, I cannot have it jumping from 0 to 100 when I drag it the other way. I hope I am making this clear. Does anyone know how to do this or have any suggestions?

  I've read that accessing elements by position index can be done in constant time in a STL deque. As far as I know, elements in a deque may be stored in several non-contiguous locations, eliminating safe access through pointer arithmetic. For example: abc-defghi-jkl-mnop The elements of the deque above consists of a single character. The set of characters in one group indicate it is allocated in contiguous memory (e.g. abc is in a single block of memory, defhi is located in another block of memory, etc.). Can anyone explain how accessing by position index can be done in constant time, especially if the element to be accessed is in the second block? Or does a deque have a pointer to the group of blocks? Update: Or is there any other common implementation for a deque?

  I can detect single/double-taps in specific views with: NSSet *myTouches = [event touchesForView:mySpecificView.view]; but I want to detect a double-tap on the button of a slider and can't find any reference to it. Is there a replacement for "touchesForView:" where I can enter the name of my slider? usage: I have three sliders with their default value being directly in the center of the slider. Once the position of the slider has changed, I want a quick way to individually reset each slider to its default position. I currently have each slider's containing view set to respond to a double-tap, updating each slider. It works fine, but doesn't seem natural. ie.I can't double-tap on the slider itself because the slider intercepts the taps and doesn't pass them on to the surrounding view. thanks in advance

I can partially store it in a temp table and store last readed position, so when connection is reestablished I can request continue uploading of file from this position. • How to make windows media player go to previous song in playlist?

  Hi, everyone! I am writing a simple Windows app in c++, that will be able to send commands to windows media player. My problem is that I want my app to move to the previous song in the playlist. IWMPControls::previous() seems to do the job, but its behavior differs from what is written in msdn. In fact this function rewinds current media to the beginning and then (if current position is less than 2-3 seconds) it switches to the previous song. I would like to implement two different buttons (please, don't ask me why :)) - one for rewinding to the beginning, and one - to moving to previous song. Is there any easy way to do this through IWMPControls (or any other WMP-related COM interface)? p.s. I could handle this if I could get the position (index) of the current song in the list. But as far as I read MSDN, it seems to me that there is no easy way to get the current item index from playlist...

  If i have 2 lines on a page as such: e.Graphics.DrawLine(blackPen, w, h, h, w); e.Graphics.DrawLine(blackPen, w2, h2, h2, w2); how would i animate the first line to reach the second line's position? I've looked a lot into XAML (story-boarding) and such - but i want to know how to do this on my own. Any ideas? I know i would need a method which runs in a loop re-drawing the line after moving the position a tid bit. I would have to call Invalidate() in order to make the line appear as though it's moving... but how would i do this? how would i move that line slowly over to the other line? • Firefox can not layout nested tables properly?

  I want to implement a collapsible menu. I plan to use table component to simulate a menu, and nest a sub table into a table cell to simulate a sub menu. Other browsers will calculate the offset base on the level 2 menu, that works as expected. Is it a bug in Firefox? If so how can I work around it? I want my code to have the same behavior in all major browsers.

• jquery easy image slider

  Using easy slider to scroll through Images . It's working occasionally (on a refresh), but more often not. The height of the slide and also the position get screwed up on load for seconds. This style was applied to the style="width: 1308px; height: 70px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;" I'm not sure where it's pulling those values from (height and width) the slide not expanding vertically to reveal the content and the slide being out of position horizontally. I have this style applied to #slider width:538px; height:auto; overflow:hidden; but they're not being passed correctly.

  I'm currently working with extremely large fixed width files, sometimes well over a million lines. I have written a method that can write over the files based on a set of parameters, but I think there has to be a more efficient way to accomplish this. The current code I'm using is: def self.writefiles(file_name, positions, update_value) @file_name = file_name @positions = positions.to_i @update_value = update_value line_number = 0 @file_contents = File.open(@file_name, 'r').readlines while line_number < @file_contents.length @read_file_contents = @file_contents[line_number] @read_file_contents[@positions] = @update_value @file_contents[line_number] = @read_file_contents line_number += 1 end write_over_file = File.new(@file_name, 'w') line_number = 0 while line_number < @file_contents.length write_over_file.write @file_contents[line_number] line_number += 1 end write_over_file.close end For example, if position 25 in the file indicated that it is an original file the value would be set to "O" and if I wanted to replace that value I would use ClassName.writefiles(filename, 140, "X") to change this position on each line.   The problem: I have a few text files (10) with numbers in them on every line. I need to have them split across some threads I create using the pthread library. these threads that are created (worker threads) are to find the largest prime number that gets sent to them (and over all the largest prime from all of the text files). My current thoughts on solutions: I am thinking myself to have two arrays and all of the text files in one array and the other array will contain a binary file that I can read say 1000 lines and send the pointer to the index of that binary file in a struct that contains the id, file pointer, and file position and let it crank through that. a little bit of what I am talking about pthread_create(&threads[index],NULL,calc_sqrt,(void *)threadFields[index]);//Pass struct to each worker Struct: typedef struct threadFields{ int *id, *position; FILE *Fin; }tField; If anyone has any insight or a better solution it would be greatly appreciated Thanks

  Hi, The use case I want to achive is. 1. Fetch XML from a remote URL. 2. Convert it to HTML using XSLT 3. Insert the generated HTML at a position in my ASP.NET web forms page. Alternative on the above, if 1 returns a 404: 2. Generate HTML which display an error message to the user. Only step 3 is left as I've completed 1-2. As there are logic for handling the two execution paths and performing the XSLT-transformation I thought it would be suitable to keep it in the code-behind file. • What's causing this background-image to display "incorrectly" in Opera and Firefox?

  I know this is something I'm probably doing wrong, so please don't incinerate me for the thread title. I'm trying to put together a small personal website using HTML 5/CSS3. I've checked with the w3c validator and the site and CSS file fully conform according to the validator (However the validator has a warning attached that it might not be perfect). I'm not sure how to explain it without a picture, so here's a comparison of Chrome/Opera/Firefox: So, you can sorta see how in Chrome the background image is in one non-repeating piece, whereas in Opera/Firefox the image has, oddly, been broken up and placed slightly differently. I'm confident this is due to an error on my part, but I've had no luck at all figuring out why the image is being mangled in Opera and Firefox.
