• Using ANTLR with Left-Recursive Rules

  Basically Ive written a Parse for a language with just basic arithmetic operators ( +, -, * / ) etc, but for the minus and plus cases, the Abstract Syntax Tree which is generated has parsed them as right associative when they need to be left associative. Having a googled for a solution, i found a tutorial that suggests rewriting the rule from: Expression ::= Expression <operator> Term | Term as Expression ::= Term <operator> Expression*. However in my head this seems to generate the tree the wrong way round. Any pointers on a way to resolve this issue?

• WMF image data validation?

  There is an image capturing device which gives its output in wmf. This output is stored in the database directly. We have cases where at times some of these images do not appear on a web page in IE. But if we right click on the page we are able to save the image on to the hard disk; meaning the image does exist on the page, but does not appear visible. I think this is because of some file corruption issue, but I don't know how to resolve it. We are however able to view such files using MS Picture Viewer (desktop app). Is there anyway we can detect such problematic files?

• Anonymous functions IE issue/problem in Javascript

  Hi guys, I am having a javascript written like this. imageDiv.onclick = function(){xyz.deleteImage(param1, param2);return false;}; Now things are fine in Firefox, Chrome and Safari. But I have a strange issue in Internet Explorer. What happens is, when I click on the imageDiv in my page, the deleteImage() method is getting invoked twice. One being the actual deleteimage() method thats given here and another is the deleteimage() method that I have in the page. How to resolve this issue. Please help.

• How to reference/link another project in grails workspace without using jar files?

  I have a Grails website that references a java core application. I have been successful in adding a .jar dependency to that project; however the java project is in the same workspace as my grails project and I would ultimately like to reference that project directly. I don't want to deal with the added step of creating a new jar file every time that there is a modification to the java project, cleaning and updating my dependencies. I added the java project to my grails' project "Java Build Path" and at first everything seemed to work fine, but when I run grailscompile, the compiler fails to resolve all imports that point to the java project. I am using Spring Source Toolsuite as my IDE.

• Changing UITableViewCell height on a grouped cell doesn't look good

  I have a UITableView with 3 sections. In the first section I have 2 grouped cells. I am modifying the first cell to be larger than the second. Though the first cell resizes, it seems to mess up the cell below it.   I am converting XML children into the element parameters and have a dirty regex script I used in Textmate. I know that dot (.) doesn't search for newlines, so this is how I got it to resolve. Search language="(.*)" (.*)<education>(.*)(\n)?(.*)?(\n)?(.*)?(\n)?(.*)?</education> (.*)<years>(.*)</years> (.*)<grade>(.*)</grade> Replace grade="$13" language="$1" years="$11"> <education>$3$4$5$6$7$8$9</education> I know there's a better way to do this. • mysql query takes 145 seconds

  I have a a mysql db with myisam engine. Along with many other table I have this table "et" which has around 8137037 records. I have created indexes (individual index of column hname and pnum, it did not help much later created joint index of hname and pnum and it help execute within a second)such that queries like "select st from et where hname='name' and pnum='1' limit 1;" execute fast (with in a second) but the problem is I must execute this query "select st from et where hname='name' and pnum='1' order by id limit 1" where id is the primary key of the table and this query sometimes take 145 seconds :( how can i resolve this issue?

• PHP strtotime() setting date to default

  I have a script which is reading values from an excel sheet and inserting them into an sql table. My problem is when the script reads in some of the date fields it is setting them to a default value : 1970-01-01 01:00:00 I have noticed that this is happening when it comes across a date where the 'day' is greater than 12 : 13/05/2012 18:52:33 (dd-mm-yyyy hh-mm-ss) I thought this may be due to the script thinking that this is the month field (i.e american format) and it sees it as an invalid value, so I set the default timezone to my own hoping it may resolve the problem but it made no difference. date_default_timezone_set('Europe/Dublin'); Here is an example of what my code is doing: Excel field value : 01/05/2012 18:32:45 Script: $start_time = $data->val($x,5); echo $start_time = date("Y-m-d H:i:s", strtotime($start_time)); Output: 2012-01-05 18:32:45 This is the exact format I am looking for (except for the fact that the day and month fields are switched around i.e american date format) but it doesnt work for the type of dates I mentioned above.

• Issuew while checking in in TFS client explorer 2005

  We have recently installed Team Explorer client for 2005 and TFS server 2008.. We have been using VS2005 and VSS earlier. To connect to TFS server 2008 we have installed a hotfix VS80sp1-KB932544-X86-ENU.exe. Everything has been setup well. However I noticed that when the files are checked out and u make some modifications , during checking in resolve confict dialog box asking to merge changes done by others isn't appearing. Instead the file is getting checked in overwriting the changes done by others. Is there some setting that needs to be done on TFS server 2008? Kindly help.

  Hello community, If I want to create custom address book (which overrides my phone's default address book), and if I want it to be used by all applications, what should be my intent filter? Does Android allow me to do such a thing considering the fact that such a third-party app could potentially be malicious?! And, if I want to have yet another address book application, I suppose the second app also has same intent-filter, isn't it? How does the framework decide which app to pick if I click on Contacts button when making a call? In other words, how does the framework resolve intents in case there is a conflict between multiple intent-filters? I'm new to android, so please excuse me if this question is stupid.   I wrote a custom resolver class. It works OK for resolving SYSTEM DTDs, but not for resolving PUBLIC DTDs. When the class has to resolve PUBLIC DTDs instead of the URI of the resource, the function receives the public identifier through the absoluteUri parameter of the GetEntity function. Is there a solution to this. In examples: if I have a DTD declaration like <!DOCTYPE document SYSTEM "document.dtd"> then the custom resolver correctly receives the string "document.dtd" through the absoluteUri parameter of the GetEntity function. if I have a DTD declaration like <!DOCTYPE document PUBLIC "-//Organization//DTD Document 1.0//EN" "http://localhost/document.dtd"> then the custom resolver incorrectly receives the string "-//Organization//DTD Document 1.0//EN" instead of "scheme://host/document.dtd".

  A constructor of a class can be a template function. At the point where such a constructor is called, the compiler usually looks at the arguments given to the constructor and determines the used template parameters from them. Is there also some syntax to specify the template parameters explicitly? A contrived example: struct A { template<typename T> A() {} }; Is there a way to instantiate this class? What is the syntax to explicitly specify the constructor's template parameters? My use case would be a problem were the compiler doesn't seem to find the correct templated constructor. Explicitly specifying the template parameters would probably generate more useful error messages or even resolve the problem.

My grammar is quite simple and made of following tokens and rules. Don't really need to go in their details here. The fact neither of them are allowed seems even more odd. Surely 'i' is either in scope or not.   Hi, I've little problem : I'm solving problem with calling function by pointer and passing to it parameters in continuous memory block. My goal is to have function named e.g CallFunc(void * func,void *params, unsigned int param_length); that I'll send function pointer, pointer to function's parameters and eventually parameters length and this calling function will call passed function with it's parameters. I will like write this in C/C++, but if somebody has idea, how this resolve in other language, that supports DLL generation and exportet functions, it will be fine too. • g++ library search failure

  I have a directory structure as below: / | +--- /lib | libsomething.a | libsomething.so | +----/obj anObjFile.o When I run the following command from within the obj directory: g++ -L../lib -lsomething anObjFile.o I get undefined reference errors. Apparently gcc is failing to locate libsomething.a. But now if I delete libsomething.so and then rerun the command, linking succeeds. As per gcc documentation -lsomething should expand to libsomething.a. Then why is presence of libsomething.so causing the library search to fail? Also, how can I resolve this problem? I'm on Linux Mint 12 with gcc version 4.6.1.

Where should i store the avatar file? first of all i was saving all the files in src\main\webapp\resources , but each time i redeploy that folder empties. so i dedide to place in an other location : c:\wwwdir\resources, but i can't link local resources from remote pages, so i was not able to display any avatar . any idea? advise? link?

• Unrecognized libraries and functions

  I am working in Eclipse 3.7.2 on Ubuntu 12.04 with C++. I have read about a few instances where libraries were not being recognized and the majority said to update the Paths and Symbols but that hasn't fixed my issue. I have 2 projects open in my workspace, one of which is already a completed project that has implemented functions and libraries with no errors from Eclipse. However, when I try to implement some of the same functions or include the same libraries in the 2nd project Eclipse can't resolve them. For example, #include <string> #include <stdio.h> strstr(p, "<Project>"); The include statement will be accepted and stdio.h will be found but the strstr function is not resolved even though it works fine in the other project. Any ideas as to why this might be happening? Thanks.

The launcher does this SET JAVA_HOME= C:\Progra~1\Java "%JAVA_HOME%\bin\java" [java program execution line] Java is installed in C:\Program Files\Java. Since it is a x64 windows it also has C:\Program Files (x86)\ folder. Now the actual problem is that from time to time this application fails to start because it fails to find java. So the question is what windows does to resolve such ambiguity? Based on what it makes decisions about which folder to choose?

I was given with a root account, and when I connect with a root account, the command line looks like below. root@xa9g82:/etc/# Then I used useradd to add an account called 'temp' When I connected to the server with temp, then the command line only has a single character. $ The user information is not shown, neither the path. Also, note that, in root's command line I can use tab to automatically complete the filename, however 'temp's command line inserts tab space, when I press tab. It is very inconvenient. I am using Ubuntu 10.04. How can I resolve this issue?
