  • Microsoft 2003 DNS sometimes cant query for some A pointers when their TTL expires

    - by Bq
    Warning Long question :) We have a win 2003 server with a DNS server, every now and then it cant provide us with some A pointers for a specific domain. I have a small script running which asks for SOA,NS and A records for the domain in question and sometimes when the TTL expires the DNS fails to get the A records again, a Clear Cache fixes the problem.. Have a look Here it worked when the TTL expired Thu Apr 29 15:24:20 METDST 2010 dig basefarm.net soa basefarm.net. 64908 IN SOA ns01.osl.basefarm.net. hostmaster.basefarm.net. 2010042613 86400 3600 2419200 600 ns01.osl.basefarm.net. 299 IN A 81.93.160.4 dig basefarm.net ns basefarm.net. 64908 IN NS ns01.sth.basefarm.net. basefarm.net. 64908 IN NS ns01.osl.basefarm.net. ns01.sth.basefarm.net. 299 IN A 80.76.149.76 ns01.osl.basefarm.net. 299 IN A 81.93.160.4 dig ns01.sth.basefarm.net a ns01.sth.basefarm.net. 299 IN A 80.76.149.76 The TTL expired for ns01.sth.basefarm.net and ns01.osl.basefarm.net but the DNS managed to get the new values (TTL 3600) Thu Apr 29 15:29:20 METDST 2010 dig basefarm.net soa basefarm.net. 64608 IN SOA ns01.osl.basefarm.net. hostmaster.basefarm.net. 2010042613 86400 3600 2419200 600 ns01.osl.basefarm.net. 3600 IN A 81.93.160.4 dig basefarm.net ns basefarm.net. 64608 IN NS ns01.sth.basefarm.net. basefarm.net. 64608 IN NS ns01.osl.basefarm.net. ns01.sth.basefarm.net. 3600 IN A 80.76.149.76 ns01.osl.basefarm.net. 3600 IN A 81.93.160.4 dig ns01.sth.basefarm.net a ns01.sth.basefarm.net. 3600 IN A 80.76.149.76 But then another time it fails, and we need to clear the dns cache for it to start working again... • Can I use ls -R to show up to 2 folder depth?

    I have a folder tree that looks like this main/ main/34532-23423632-2354/what-i-want/sth/other/blah-blah main/54634-56345634-3422/what-i-want/sth/ .... main/54356-34225675-2345/what-i-want/ I want it to show the tree up to the folder what I want. Because the folders sth, other and so on contain many other things that are useless. I just want to see what's inside each folder named xxxx-xxxxxxxx-xxxxx. Is there any way?

  • form not showing for empty records

    - by Chris Hodges
    I have a relatively simple PHP page called editcustomers with 3 columns. The problem I'm having is that the form will show when there is a record in the database and the fields will be populated with that info. When no such records exists, the form is not even shown, eliminating the possibility to insert a record. My page layout is as follows: Column 1 shows a form containing customer information, allowing it to be edited. Column 2 allows ordering of products and showing how many products were ordered Column 3 shows the total paid so far, and the total owing. The code for the page I have at present: <html> <?php $id = $_GET['id']; require_once('connect.php'); $sth = $dbh->query("SELECT * FROM users where id = '$id';"); $sth->setFetchMode(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC); $eth = $dbh->query("SELECT * FROM purchases where id = '$id';"); $eth->setFetchMode(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC); ?> <div id="main"> <div id="left"> <form name="custInfo" action ="process.php" method ="post" > <input type = "hidden" name ="formType" value="custInfo"/> <?php while($row = $sth->fetch()){ ?> <p><input type = "hidden" name ="id" value="<?php echo $row["id"] ?>"/> <p><input type = "text" name ="firstName" size ="30" value=" <?php echo $row["firstName"]?>"/> <p><input type = "text" name ="lastName" size ="30" value="<?php echo $row["lastName"]?>"/> <p><input type = "text" name ="country" size ="30" value="<?php echo $row["country"]?>"/> <p></p> <input type="submit" value="Update" /> <?php }?> </div> <div id="mid"> <form name="custCosts" action ="process.php" method ="post" > <input type = "hidden" name ="formType" value="custCosts"/> <?php while($row = $eth->fetch()){ ?> <p><input type = "hidden" name ="id" value="<?php echo $row["id"] ?>"/> <p><input type = "text" name ="amountOwed" size ="30" value=" <?php echo $row["amountOwed"]?>"/> <p><input type = "text" name ="numAaa" size ="30" value="<?php echo $row["numAaa"]?>"/> <p><input type = "text" name ="numBbb" size ="30" value="<?php echo $row["numBbb"]?>"/> <p></p> <input type="submit" value="Update" /> <?php }?> </div> <div id="right"> <b>Total Balance</b> <p> Money owed: </p> <p> aaa total: </p> <p> bbb total: </p> <p> Total: </p> <input type = "text" name ="pay" size ="20" /></p> <input type="submit" value="Make Payment" /> </div> <?php $dbh =null; ?> </body> </html> And the code for all the database trickery: <?php require_once 'connect.php'; $formType = $_POST['formType']; $id = $_POST['id']; $firstName = $_POST['firstName']; $lastName = $_POST['lastName']; $country = $_POST['country']; $amountOwed = $_POST['amountOwed ']; $numAaa = $_POST['numAaa']; $numBbb = $_POST['numBbb']; if(empty($_POST['id'])) { $sth = $dbh->prepare("INSERT INTO customers (firstName, lastName, country) VALUES ('$firstName', '$lastName', '$country')"); $sth->execute(); } elseif(!empty($_POST['id']) && !isset($_POST['stayCost']) && $_POST['formType'] == 'guestInfo'){ $sth = $dbh->prepare("UPDATE customers SET firstName = '$firstName', lastName = '$lastName', country = '$country' WHERE id = '$id'"); $sth->execute(); }elseif(!empty($_POST['id']) && isset($_POST['stayCost']) && $_POST['formType'] == 'guestInfo'){ $sth = $dbh->prepare("INSERT INTO purchases (id, amountOwed, numAaa, numBbb) VALUES ('$id', '$amountOwed', '$numAaa', '$numBbb'"); $sth->execute(); }elseif(!empty($_POST['id']) && $_POST['formType'] == 'guestCosts'){ $sth = $dbh->prepare("UPDATE purchases SET amountOwed= '$amountOwed', numAaa = '$numAaa', numBbb= '$numBbb' WHERE id = '$id'"); $sth->execute(); } $dbh =null; ?> Why does the form not even display if there is no record? An error or something I might understand....but the form is still in the HTML and should still be being output, from what I can see. Why is this not the case?

  • DBD::CSV: Problem with userdefined functions

    - by sid_com
    From the SQL::Statement::Functions documentation: Creating User-Defined Functions ... More complex functions can make use of a number of arguments always passed to functions automatically. Functions always receive these values in @_: sub FOO { my( $self, $sth, $rowhash, @params ); } #!/usr/bin/env perl use 5.012; use warnings; use strict; use DBI; my $dbh = DBI->connect( "DBI:CSV:", undef, undef, { RaiseError => 1, } ); my $table = 'wages'; my $array_ref = [ [ 'id', 'number' ], [ 0, 6900 ], [ 1, 3200 ], [ 2, 1800 ], ]; $dbh->do( "CREATE TEMP TABLE $table AS import( ? )", {}, $array_ref ); sub routine { my $self = shift; my $sth = shift; my $rowhash = shift; # return $_[0] / 30; }; $dbh->do( "CREATE FUNCTION routine" ); my $sth = $dbh->prepare( "SELECT id, routine( number ) AS result FROM $table" ); $sth->execute(); $sth->dump_results(); When I try this I get an error-message: DBD::CSV::st execute failed: Use of uninitialized value $_[0] in division (/) at ./so.pl line 27. When I comment out the third argument I works as expected ( because it looks as if the third argument is missing ): #!/usr/bin/env perl ... sub routine { my $self = shift; my $sth = shift; #my $rowhash = shift; return $_[0] / 30; }; ... 0, 230 1, 106.667 2, 60 3 rows Is this a bug?

  • PHP PDO Parameters from a function returned array

    - by noko
    I've got a function written that runs a query based on parameters passed to the function. I can't seem to figure out why doing the following returns a result: function test($function_returned_array) { $variable = 'Hello World'; $sql = 'SELECT `name`, `pid` FROM `products` WHERE `name` IN (?)'; $found = $this->db->get_array($sql, $variable); } While this doesn't return any results: function test2($function_returned_array) { $sql = 'SELECT `name`, `pid` FROM `products` WHERE `name` IN (?)'; $found = $this->db->get_array($sql, $function_returned_array[0]); } $function_returned_array[0] is also equal to 'Hello World'. Shouldn't they both return the same results? When I echo the values of $variable and $function_returned_array[0], they are both 'Hello World' Here's the relevant parts of my PDO wrapper: public function query(&$query, $params) { $sth = $this->_db->prepare($query); if(is_null($params)) { $sth->execute(); } else if(is_array($params)) { $sth->execute($params); } else { $sth->execute(array($params)); } $this->_rows = $sth->rowCount(); $this->_counter++; return $sth; } public function get_array(&$query, $params, $style = PDO::FETCH_ASSOC) { $q = $this->query($query, $params); return $q->fetchAll($style); } I'm using PHP 5.3.5. Any help would be appreciated.

  • PDO and SQL IN statements

    - by Sai
    Im using a sequel for search like this using PDOs $states = "'SC','SD'"; $sql = "select * from mytable where states in (:states)"; $params = array(':states'=>$states); and I use my function $result = $this->selectArrayAssoc($sql, $params); where my selectArrayAssoc function as following public function selectArrayAssoc($sql, $params = array()){ try{ $sth = $this->db->prepare($sql); $sth->execute($params); $result = $sth->setFetchMode(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC); return $sth->fetchAll(); }catch(PDOException $e){ print $e->getMessage(); //Log this to a file later when in production exit; } } it does not take the quoted variables, I think it is suppressing, in such cases how to deal with this.

  • Question about DBD::CSB Statement-Functions

    - by sid_com
    From the SQL::Statement::Functions documentation: Function syntax When using SQL::Statement/SQL::Parser directly to parse SQL, functions (either built-in or user-defined) may occur anywhere in a SQL statement that values, column names, table names, or predicates may occur. When using the modules through a DBD or in any other context in which the SQL is both parsed and executed, functions can occur in the same places except that they can not occur in the column selection clause of a SELECT statement that contains a FROM clause. # valid for both parsing and executing SELECT MyFunc(args); SELECT * FROM MyFunc(args); SELECT * FROM x WHERE MyFuncs(args); SELECT * FROM x WHERE y < MyFuncs(args); # valid only for parsing (won't work from a DBD) SELECT MyFunc(args) FROM x WHERE y; Reading this I would expect that the first SELECT-statement of my example shouldn't work and the second should but it is quite the contrary. #!/usr/bin/env perl use warnings; use strict; use 5.010; use DBI; open my $fh, '>', 'test.csv' or die $!; say $fh "id,name"; say $fh "1,Brown"; say $fh "2,Smith"; say $fh "7,Smith"; say $fh "8,Green"; close $fh; my $dbh = DBI->connect ( 'dbi:CSV:', undef, undef, { RaiseError => 1, f_ext => '.csv', }); my $table = 'test'; say "\nSELECT 1"; my $sth = $dbh->prepare ( "SELECT MAX( id ) FROM $table WHERE name LIKE 'Smith'" ); $sth->execute (); $sth->dump_results(); say "\nSELECT 2"; $sth = $dbh->prepare ( "SELECT * FROM $table WHERE id = MAX( id )" ); $sth->execute (); $sth->dump_results(); outputs: SELECT 1 '7' 1 rows SELECT 2 Unknown function 'MAX' at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.10.0/SQL/Parser.pm line 2893. • Pushing to an array not working as expected

    - by Ross Attrill
    When I execute the code below, my array 'tasks' ends up with the same last row from the dbi call repeated for each row in the database. require 'dbi' require 'PP' dbh = DBI.connect('DBI:ODBC:Driver={SQL Server Native Client 10.0};Server=localhost,1433;Database=db;Uid=db;Pwd=mypass', 'db', 'mypass') sth = dbh.prepare('select * from TASK') sth.execute tasks = Array.new while row=sth.fetch do p row tasks.push(row) end pp(tasks) sth.finish So if I have two rows in my TASK table, then instead of getting this in the tasks array: [[1, "Task 1"], [2, "Task 2"]] I get this [[2, "Task 2"], [2, "Task 2"]] What am I doing wrong?

  • Alternatives to storing Moose object using Apache::Session with CODE references

    - by Hartmut Behrens
    I have a Moose class that i would like to store using Apache::Session::File. However, Apache::Session::File by default will not store it and instead i get the error message: (in cleanup) Can't store CODE items at blib\lib\Storable.pm (autosplit into blib\lib\auto\Storable\_freeze.al)... This problem can be circumvented by setting $Storable::Deparse = 1; $Storable::Eval = 1; in order to allow CODE references to be serialized. The offending method in the Moose class is listed below, which retrieves a column from a mysql database: sub _build_cell_generic { my ($self,$col) = @_; my $sth = $self->call_dbh('prepare','select '.$col.' from '.$self->TABLE.' where CI = ? and LAC = ? and IMPORTDATE = ?'); $sth->execute($self->CI,$self->LAC,$self->IMPORTDATE); my $val = $sth->fetchrow_array; $sth->finish; return defined $val ? $val : undef; } So presumably the dbh object (isa DBIx::Connector) contains CODE references. Is there a better alternative in order to allow serialization of this Moose class than setting $Storable::Deparse and $Storable::Eval ?

  • Can the template parameters of a constructor be explicitly specified?

    - by sth
    A constructor of a class can be a template function. At the point where such a constructor is called, the compiler usually looks at the arguments given to the constructor and determines the used template parameters from them. Is there also some syntax to specify the template parameters explicitly? A contrived example: struct A { template<typename T> A() {} }; Is there a way to instantiate this class? What is the syntax to explicitly specify the constructor's template parameters? My use case would be a problem were the compiler doesn't seem to find the correct templated constructor. Explicitly specifying the template parameters would probably generate more useful error messages or even resolve the problem.

  • Is there performance to be gained by moving storage allocation local to a member function to its cla

    - by neuviemeporte
    Suppose I have the following C++ class: class Foo { double bar(double sth); }; double Foo::bar(double sth) { double a,b,c,d,e,f a = b = c = d = e = f = 0; /* do stuff with a..f and sth */ } The function bar() will be called millions of times in a loop. Obviously, each time it's called, the variables a..f have to be allocated. Will I gain any performance by making the variables a..f members of the Foo class and just initializing them at the function's point of entry? On the other hand, the values of a..f will be dereferenced through this-, so I'm wondering if it isn't actually a possible performance degradation. Is there any overhead to accessing a value through a pointer? Thanks!

Works with a similare code with DPO just without my DB class. But I doesn't get any errors. • Is timeout in tracertoutput an indication of an error?

    - by nitramk
    TCP/IP packages sent from my computer to a remote server does not always reach destination and ends up being retransmitted sometimes several times before they succeed. To troubleshoot this, I'm running a tracert to the server: Tracing route to <site> [<address>] Over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms mymachine 2 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms gw.levonline.com [217.70.32.30] 3 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 81.201.213.218 4 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms bmf1-hmf1.driften.net [81.201.213.12] 5 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 10ge-2-4-cr2.a1.sth.ownit.se [84.246.88.157] 6 <1 ms * <1 ms netnod-ix-ge-b-sth-4470.microsoft.com [195.69.11.181] 7 26 ms * * ge-3-0-0-0.ams-64cb-1a.ntwk.msn.net [207.46.42.1] 8 48 ms 57 ms 56 ms ten9-1.lts-76e-1.ntwk.msn.net [207.46.42.133] 9 * * * Request timed out. In step 6 and 7, I'm seeing timeouts while waiting for the reply from the server (as seen above). Running the same tracert many times gives varying output, sometimes the response is fine, but sometimes I get this timeout 1, 2 and sometimes for all 3 packets. The timeout always starts at the same server, netnod-ix-ge-b-sth-4470.microsoft.com. I've tried setting the tracert timeout to 10 seconds, but am still getting the timeout. Running tracert towards other servers does not give me the same timeout. Microsoft network technicians tells me that the problem is not on "their" side. Are these timeouts an indicator of a lost packet on the specific node which did not respond? Are the timeouts an indication of there being a problem, or is it normal?

DBI connect('SAMPLE','username',...) failed: [unixODBC][Driver Manager]Data source name not found, and no default driver specified at /data/www/perl/test.pl line 15 First of all, why is it using ODBC? The native DB2 driver is installed (hence it works as CGI). Running Apache 2.2.3, mod_perl 2.0.4 under RHEL5. This guy had the same problem as me: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg22909.html But I have no idea how he fixed it. What does mod_php4 have to do with mod_perl? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm having no luck with google.

  • How to prevent session hijacking with SID (CGI perl)

    - by Gnippots
    I have a web app used by a small number of people (internal only) and am using a randomised sessionID that is stored under the user record and placed in various links. I have had a problem where users are sending links to each other which is allowing them to hijack the sender's session. What are some ways of preventing this from happening while still letting users send links to one another? Edit: The session ID in the link (which also contains $username) is just compared to what is stored in the User table. &incorrectLogin just prints an error followed by die; if ($sid) { $sth = $dbh->prepare("SELECT * FROM tbl_User WHERE UserID = '$username'"); $sth->execute(); $ref = $sth->fetchrow_hashref(); $session_chk = $ref->{'usr_sessionID'}; unless ($sid eq $session_chk) {&incorrectLogin;} } The problem is that if someone uses a link that is created by someone else, the page will load as them. I am not using cookies, and I recall being told in the past that CGI perl cookie handling is quite poor.
