• "The server refused the connection" error in Facebook App [closed]

  I am working on creating a facebook app for a webstore and listing its contents in facebook app. My server is not https, but facebook app requires https, it showed "Operation timed out" error. So I disabled secured browsing option in facebook and tested in facebook appcentre. After disable secured browsing , the site was worked well till yesterday.But Today, I tried to check the output, It showing this error "The server refused the connection". How can I fix this error. Please look at the screenshot for clarification.

• windows7 cant get to internet( cable connection)

  I'm using a window 7 with wireless & cable equipments to connect to internet, it's been fine for moths. But Three days ago, the local connection ran out of control and i can no longer use the cable to get access to internet. But fortunately the wireless equipment still works. I reinstalled the driver, took off/inserted in the cable, the computer still didn't work. And every time I let the computer diagnose itself, it told me that :"Default gateway is not valid"(or something else, forgive my terrible english XD). If anyone could give any advice, i will be very appreciated. And I'm in california, but i don't know the gateway of this area.

• getting database connectivity issue from only one part of my ASP.net project?

  Hi, Something weird has started happening to my project with Dynamic Data. Suddenly I am now getting connection errors when going to the DD navigation pages, but things work fine on the default DD main page, and also other MVC pages I've added in myself work fine to the database. Any ideas? • informix odbc connection slow to open in asp.net

  I have an application that takes a long time to open odbc connections (like 20 sec) also takes forever using arcmap and arcsde but when I try the connection on the odbc data source administrator, it tests it really fast Does anyone have any idea of what my be causing this? btw the application works fine in another computer with another database thanks.

• mysql_connect "bool $new_link = true" is very slow

  Hi, I'm using latest version of Xampp on 64bit Win7. The problem is that, when I use mysql_connect with "bool $new_link" set to true like so: mysql_connect('localhost', 'root', 'my_password', TRUE); script execution time increases dramatically (about 0,5 seconds per connection, and when I have 4 diffirent objects using different connections, it takes ~2 seconds). Is setting "bool $new_link" to true, generally a bad idea or could it just be some problem with my software configuration. Thank you.

  Hi, My C#.NET application is running much slower when the exe is located on the network. And I'm talking about everything, even the graphical dispay is slower. For example: when a form is already loaded, if I unplug my network cable and minimize and maximize the window, it takes a very long time to redraw itself. I'm using framework .NET 3.5 SP1. Any idea on the cause? My hypothesis so far: I'm missing some options when building the app? my corporate antivirus checks more stuff because the exe is on the network the cache of Windows XP SP3 doesn't work the same way when the exe is on the network the server is a Novell server: maybe this does change something ? • Visual Web Developer 2005 Express loads very slowly

  I admit that I am not a guru of Visual Studio products at all. I am using Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition and I'm trying to load someone else's project. This project happens to be a website with many pages. After loading VWD, it asks for a project to open and I select the solution file. It then proceeds to take an extremely long time to load. The status bar indicates that references are being loaded, many of which are in the System.Web.* area it seems. It seems like it's going back and forth between some different packages. The loading time is upwards of 20 to 30 minutes or more. Some others have stated that their projects open fine when they go to File Open Website... and choose the project directory from there. Any ideas what the problem could be and how to fix it? Edit: It finally completed loading after an hour approximately.

We'll probably try again in a few days, if anyone has anything to add in the meantime, please do.

  My application that wraps around Oracle Data pump's executables IMPDP and EXPDP takes random amounts of time for the same work. On further investigation, I see it waiting for again random amounts of time with the event 'wait for unread message on broadcast channel'. This makes the application take anytime b/w 10 minutes to over an hour for the same work. I fail to understand if this has something to do with the way my application uses these executables, or it has got something to do with Load on my server or something totally alien to me.

  we have SAP Business One - Fourth Shift Edition running here at a small manufacturing company. The consulting company that has come in to do the installation/implementation uses the "sa" id/pass to initially connect to the database to get the list of companies. From then on, I have to assume that its the sa id/pass that is being used to connect the client software to the database. Is this appropriate? I dont know where this data is being stored... as an ODBC connection? directly in the registry somewhere? Is it secure? Would it be better to set the users network ID in the database security and then use the "trusted connection" setting instead? Or do most people create a separate login in the database for each user and use that in the client settings? seems like the easiest way would be to add the users network login to the sql server security so they can use the "trusted connection"... but then wouldn't that allow ANY software to connect to the database from that machine? So anyways: what are the best-practices for setting this up?

• rundll32.exe constantly running taking up resources slowing down my Win 7 computer

  Over the past week, my Windows 7 Home Premium computer (8gb RAM, 64bit) has been running slowly. When I look at my processes, there are always 2 rundll32.exe's running taking up 3 & 25% CPU power, memory slowly creeping upwards from around 115mb to 160mb each in the time it has taken me to right this message, sometimes popping upt o 300mb and back down. Svchost.exe is at 260mb. When I end those processes, everything returns to snappiness. I recently did some Windows Updates, and I think it was around the time my computer started acting slowly, but I can't remember if it was before or after the updates that things started running slowly. Last night I ccleaned & defrag'ed. How can I diagnose what's causing the slowness?

the user got the possibility to change the values of the transaction attributes with comboboxes. Ok now to my problem. If I click on the "Laden" button the application will load about 150 entries in the ObservableCollection<Transaction>. Before I fill the collection I set the ItemsSource of the ListView to null and after filling I bind the collection to the ItemsSource once again. The loading itself takes a few milliseconds, but the rendering of the filled collection takes a long time (150 entries = about 20 sec). I tested to delete all Comboboxes out of the xaml and i got a better performance, because I don't have to fill the ComboBoxes for each row. But I need to have these comboboxes for modifing the attributes of the Transaction. Does anybody know how to improve the performance? THX

  The Goal — On an iPhone, to browse through several hundred locally-stored jpgs using a UIScrollView. The Problem — Like many others before me, I've tried implementing a scroll view based on Apple's Page Control sample code and found it lacking. The biggest issue I'm currently up against is that the sample code's architecture doesn't seem to scale. With just a few images loaded from disk, everything's fine. Once the number of images gets into the dozens, though, scrolling suffers terribly: the scrollview stutters mid-scroll with each new swipe. The only code I've toyed with that comes even close to being reasonably responsive is Three20, but even there the performance doesn't hold a candle to Photos. For now, I'm just using Three20, but a faster, custom solution would definitely be preferable.

It's written using some kind of framework and has many PHP files. I know that to find slow queries I can use slow query log functionality in MySQL. But on this shared hosting I can not use this method because I can not change my.cnf. I don't want to change my statistics script to other and I don't want to mess around with all files of this script to find out where to put diagnostics code to log queries manually. I would like to do it without changes in PHP code. So my question is: How to log slow queries in these coditions?: Can't change my.cnf to enable slow query log Can't change statistics script to other Don't know how scrpt is written and where mysql commands are issued Can't ask my provider for slow query log Is there any method to do this in simple, easy, fast way?

  Hi everyone! Despite that I’m a regular reader of this great forum, this is my first post on it. I believe that this community can help me with the following problem that I have. I’m trying to publish an ASP.NET website over an IIS 6.0 (Windows 2003 Server), and I have some troubles trying to connect to the database. Curiously, I have installed another ASP.NET website into the same IIS 6.0 with the same properties and security parameters and can connect without problems with the same database. The application that works fine is almost the same that the one that can’t connect with SQL Server (actually is the same but with several modifications). I’ll enumarate some information related to the problem: S.O: Windows 2003 Server SQL Server Engine: SQL Server 2008 SQL Server accept remote connections? Yes. ASP.NET version: 2.0.50727 The connections via TCP/IP are enabled to the SQL Server instance? Yes. The corresponding user that I have in the connection string, actually exists into the database with the “owner” role? Yes. ORM Tool used: nHibernate I get the following error when I try to run the aplication into the browser: Error while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may occur because the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: Shared Memory Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) In order to isolate the problem, I made some test. For example, using the web app that works fine I can connect without any problema with the database that uses the web app that can’t. With this evidence I concluded that the problem is within the web app and not into the SQL Server instance. I also google it my problem but sadly I can't find nothing usefull to solve it. • Multi-process builds in Visual Studio 2010: Worth it?

  I've started testing our C++ software with VS2010 and the build times are really bad (30-45 minutes, about double the VS2005 times). I've been reading about the /MP switch for multi-process compilation. Unfortunately, it is incompatible with some features that we use quite a bit like #import, incremental compilation, and precompiled headers. Have you had a similar project where you tried the /MP switch after turning off things like precompiled headers? Did you get faster builds? My machine is running 64-bit Windows 7 on a 4 core machine with 4 GB of RAM and a fast SSD storage. Virus scanner disabled and a pretty minimal software environment.

• Symbols taking very, very long time to load when hosting ASP.NET app in IIS

  Hi, I'm hosting my project using IIS, running from Visual Studio. Whenever I recompile, on the first run it takes several minutes (on a not awful machine) to load all the symbols. • Asp.net Site on GoDaddy Loads Slowly

  I just published a very small site to GoDaddy that I programmed in Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2008. The site only contains 6 sheets, none of which are data intensive. Each has a few small images that serve mostly to navigate to the other sheets. There is no data, no SQL, nothing like that. There is one master page that governs the page layout for all of the pages. Everything works fine, for the most part. I am posting because the site loads quite slowly, particularly considering how little content is being loaded. Can anybody give me any advice about what I should look at to speed this thing up a little bit? Is this an asp.net issue? Use of master pages? Godaddy? Something else? I'm a newbie, so speak slowly.   I'm trying to learn something about 2D games programming. For this purpose I've downloaded many samples developed in: Flex and Microsoft WPF. I've noticed that all the animations / moving objects are kind of non-smooth. I've seen a Flex example with double buffering which solved the image flickering, but it was laggy too. WPF example too. Just to mentioned, all examples were drawing on Canvas. I'm just curious, is it possible to have a wonderful non-laggy movement on the GUI in Flash or WPF ? (e.g. like a real game, coded in C++)

• Xcode + Perforce: it frequently shows me the spinning wheel for no reason! What can i do?

  While working on an Xcode project i keep getting the spinning wheel while switching files, scrolling, searching, typing, debugging, removing breakpoints, switching back from another app or saving. It also happens before compiling but usually it just happens from time to time for no apparent reason. This is the second time this started happening in a Xcode project and it's driving me nuts. It completely breaks my flow of work to have to wait for the spinning wheel to go away (2-5 seconds). What on earth could i possibly do to ... figure out what's causing the problem? resolve the problem? More details: When any project is small, everything is super-smooth with Xcode and Perforce. Two of my projects eventually had this spinning wheel problem after about 4 weeks of work. It only happened with those two projects so far. They consist of around 1000-1200 files in source control, most of them assets. The problem occurs even if i manually check out the whole project in Perforce. The problem is gone when i copy the project directory and work in the copy which is no longer under source control, or if i create a branch in Perforce and work in the branch (under source control). One of these projects i shared with a colleague, and he had exactly the same issues on his Mac. We eventually switched to Subversion and the spinning-wheel issue immediately went away. Now that i've received an updated copy of the project and simply put it under Perforce as a new project, the problem also went away (so far it did not resurface). It leads me to think that it may be caused by a larger number of file revisions. The server itself (version 2009.1) is on a different (Windows) machine on my LAN, so there's definetely no Internet lag involved. The complete repository is just 1 GB in size spread over a dozen projects or so. I'm sorry if the question seems more like a support inquiry for Perforce. However i'm using the free version of Perforce so i'm not entitled to get support from them. I hope no one minds me asking here. I'm really bummed out by this. I don't want to have to create a new branch for the project each time the spinning wheel problem surfaces.

  Hello, I am using the .NET 4.0 client profile for my app and I run a dual core with 4 GB Ram and a fast hard disk. nothing big is done at the start just showing a generic List in a wpf listview. How can I make the cold start faster of my assembly ? I have done now again a cold start and run the windowsapplication.exe in my \obj\x86\Debug folder and my harddisk run like hell and it took 10,5 seconds ??? What is wrong? The warm start after the cold one took 1 second. Java 6 apps has not that problem, not at all just to compare...
