• Using Google Spreadsheet API on Blackberry

  I am trying to build a Google spreadsheet synchronization feature on a blackberry application that I am building. Not being a pro I was hunting for some sample code to get a grasp of the flow but I could not. When I am using the API from Google to access spreadsheets, it suggests to use the SpreadsheetService class. try{ SpreadsheetService service = new SpreadsheetService ("MRythm"); service.setUserCredentials("username", "password"); service.getFeed(new URL(""), arg1) }catch(Exception e){ } Now the problem is J2ME or Blackberry does not feature the URL class from java.net library. • Getting started with Windows Azure

  Hi All, I'm going to sound like a complete newbie here but here goes... I've just signed up for a Windows Azure account and was hoping to get a simple hello world aspx page up and running in a browser to see how it all works but I can't seem to find a simple guide to getting a very simple web application running. I've got as far as setting up a "service" and going onto the "deploy" page but it's asking me upload an "application package". I've looked on MSDN but there aren't any simple guides, just reams of documentation talking about "roles" and "development fabric". For somebody that is proficient in HTML/CSS and knows a little abit about asp.net it may just as well be in another language. So, does anybody know how to upload a simple aspx page and then access it in a browser? Jon

• Security behaviour in Adobe Air

  Hi everyone! I am trying to load external SWFs in my Adobe AIR App. The loaded SWF is trying to access an URL to retrieve some informations via XML. When starting the SWF by itself it works fine. When loading the SWF from the File.applicationStorageDirectory i will get an Security-Error because the loaded App is executed in a local-with-filesystem Sandbox appareantly. First Question: Is there a way to change this? That the loaded SWF is running in a network Sandbox? Since that first attempt didn't worked i've moved the SWF to the app:// directory. Now i'll get a Security-Error because there is no policy file on the Server available where the XML data should be retrieved. Second Question: Why is the policy file not necessary when running the SWF by itself, but is necessary when trying to load the data from the application Sandbox? What am i doing wrong? • Reading a document's content from the gdata API?

  Hi, I'm using the java library to access the gdata api. I just want to be able to print the contents of a document. I setup my project to list all the docs in my feed, now that I have a document listing, I want to print its contents: for (DocumentListEntry entry : feed.getEntries()) { // Ok, how do we print the doc's contents now? entry.getContents(); } It looks like we're supposed to get the URL from the entry, then read the contents at the URL ourselves. I found a post stating that this is how we get that URL: MediaContent content = (MediaContent)entry.getContent(); String url = content.getUri(); but when I try to read from it, I get an html response saying 'this content has moved'. I read that this is because we have to authenticate our http-read method, but I'm not sure how to do that. Is there really no built-in way to do this? Thanks

• Internet Explorer blocked this website from displaying content with security certificate errors

  I have a security certificate linked to a CDN's server. The main website is https:www.connect4fitness.com When I pull the site up in firefox or chrome, everything works fine. But in IE I get the following error: "Internet Explorer blocked this website from displaying content with security certificate errors." On IE 9 it shows the button "Display Content" and you can get past the error by clicking on the button. On older versions on I the error message is much more cryptic and is confusing users. Please note that I don't have the option of asking end users to add the site to Trusted Sources as some folks use the site from their work computers and do not have that access. Also, some people don't bother to call once they hit the error. I have looked at the content and all my links are "https" only. I had one namespace link and I got rid of it. Any idea about how I can find what is triggering this message?

  Hy, I have a validator set on the text property of a textblock. For a correct validation I would need the parent usercontrol of the textblock, but the only things I have in the validator are the value object (a string) and the culture (doesn't help either). Does anyone know a way to get certain usercontrols in a class/a method where I have no access to any kind of visual or control of my application. The problem could be solve if I could give the validator the usercontrol or the textblock as parameters, but I didn't find a way to do so.. Thank you very much for your answers. Greets

• Basic Ruby on Rails Question about routing

  I have a controller without any related model. This controller is to span some informations from various models. I have lots of actions there, which define certain views on the page. What would be the best way to organize routes for this controller. What I would like is to have /dashboard/something point to any action in the dashboard controller. Not actions like new/edit but arbitrary (showstats, etc). With trail and error I made something like this: map.dashboard 'dashboard/:action', :controller => 'dashboard', :action => :action Now it is possible to access those url using helper: dashboard_url('actionname') This approch seems to be working ok, but is this the way to go? I am not quite sure understand, how are the helper method names generated. How to generate same helper names as in basic controllers "action_controller_url" ? That would be more generic and made the code more consistent. Thanks in advance.

I've a dedicated ViewController for each cell and if I implement touchesBegan method in this viewController i can change my cell background without any problem. The problem is that the method "didSelectRowAtIndexPath" of the UITableView is no longer called. How can I call it manually? I have seen numerous tutorials on using self signed CAs. How would you do this using a third party? 1) Do I need to include the CA in the client pfx if it is a trusted root CA? I have seen both examples.   I'm currently trying to use Devise 1.1.pre3 as authentication in my upcoming project, but I can't get it to work properly. I have done everything it says in the documentation, installed warden and the correct Devise version, run the install and used the generator to create the model. But when I try to access the sign up form (localhost:3000/users/sign_up) all I get is No route matches "/users/sign_up" But when I run rake routing I get the following: ... GET /users/sign_up(.:format) {:controller=>"devise/registrations", :action=>"new"} ... I doesn't have any files matching that controller. Is there any steps I have missed (installed, updated routing etc and created model)

  Hi There, I'm working with a WCF service in Azure, which uses Windows Live ID authentication with the recent deviceid requirements. When I host my WCF service locally in the compute emulator, it works properly, but when I deploy the cloud service to Azure and call it the same way (from another project that uses the WCF service as a service reference), I get the error: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.IdentityModel, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. I found this post : http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/netservices/thread/cd139b5c-ad12-4298-af2f-1b2d0136a977 But there are a few problems: 1. I don't seem to have access to Microsoft.IdentityModel, only System.IdentityModel. I'm not sure why it's searching for something in 3.5 at all, as I'm building in .NET 4.0. 2. Now we want to move one of those methods out to another util class to make it a static method. I am of course assuming master pages caused this, since it's the only thing I've changed besides minor updates (that should not affect this in any way).

  Can someone pitch in their opinion about pros/cons between wrapping the DataContext in an using statement or not in LINQ-SQL in terms of factors as performance, memory usage, ease of coding, right thing to do etc. Update: In one particular application, I experienced that, without wrapping the DataContext in using block, the amount of memory usage kept on increasing as the live objects were not released for GC. As in, in below example, if I hold the reference to List of q object and access entities of q, I create an object graph that is not released for GC.   I have autotest setup with growlnotify using growl_glue (version 1.0.7): require 'growl_glue' GrowlGlue::Autotest.initialize do |config| config.notification :use_network_notifications => true end growl version is 1.2 each time autotest runs and displays the notification growl popup I also get an OS X firewall popup asking Do you want the application "growlnotify" to accept incoming network connections? I tried answering deny and allow but it still keeps popping up. the deny/allow choice is properly reflected in System Preferences - Security - Firewall - 'application access list', but it still asks every time. update I ended up using autotest-growl gem instead of the growl_glue. it fixed the problem, it was probably related to how growl_glue was calling growlnotify.

With my limited threading knowledge I'm assuming that the interval is happening on some other thread while the event wants to happen on the UI thread??? An explanation of the problem would be very useful.   I am creating a WPF app that needs to allow users to work in a temporary disconnected state and I plan to use a Local Database Cache. My question's are about my data access layer. Do you typically create the whole DAL to point at the Cache or both and create a switching mechanism? Is Entity's a good way to go for my DAL against the Cache? • No styles / images on asp.Net MVC 2 application

  Greetings i have a little problem with my ASP MVC application. On my local development server everything works just fine but when i try to publish the application to an IIS 7.0 server it just displays plain pages without any styles / markups / images. I put all those things in the /Content/ subfolder but when i try to access that folder on the production server it just returns me a 404 not found error. I set the IIS server up with .Net 4.0 and followed the deployment guide on here: http://www.asp.net/learn/mvc/tutorial-08-cs.aspx All views / controllers / classes seem to work just fine, the only thing which does not is the content subfolder and i cant see why. Anyone got a suggestion what i could have overlooked or does anyone know that problem?

  Here's what I want to do: Load a web page from a specific location Print that web page into a jpeg, png, or other graphic file format Upload that image to another site, or save it to a location on my local network I know about window.print(), but that always seems to open up a print window, and I'd like to do as much of this operation silently as possible. Essentially, I want to be able to take a snap shot of the web page so it can be put in a directory that is accessed by one of those electronic picture frames.
