• Forumotion profile customization using jQuery based on URL

  The idea is have a jQuery snippet (I like Jquery...I can understand it better then regular javascript) that will detect that when it has been run on a profile with a url such as "http://customize.forum-motion.com/profile.forum?mode=viewprofile&u=1" (just as an example)...then upon detecting that it is a url of a profile...fetch data from a specific (and most likely hidden) element before wrapping that data in css tags and appending it to the heady of the current document. In short I'm trying to figure out how to make a sort of profile customization system where users can create their own css. The biggest problem I am having so far is figuring out how to make it so that the snippet can figure out what URL its being run on. Is there a function that can do this in jQuery at all?

• Google SpreadSheets - When using a time trigger in code, some cells getting '#N/A' value

  I've created a Google spreadsheet with imported data on one cell, extracting specific string to another cell and pasting the data in a table with a trigger for every 2 hours. Now everything works perfectly when running the script manually but when logged out and waiting for the cells to fill, sometimes the pasted cell getting "#N/A" value. I am not understanding that from where this href value will be binded. And why the value(f.attr("href")) is changing place to place. I mean to say it is having some value @ one location and if I give the same it is giving me different value at other location. But currently passing a string seems to already have a problem. Any know what I did wrong here? Still not working the code above. Anyone want to help me out here?

• ShellExecute not working from IDE but works otherwise.

  I want to create and then open a txt file using the ShellExecute command. I have used this code for years with Delphi 7 and it worked: function Executa(CONST ExeName, Parameters: string): Boolean; begin if Parameters= '' then Result:= ShellExecute(0, 'open', PChar(ExeName), NIL , nil, SW_SHOWNORMAL)> 32 else Result:= ShellExecute(0, 'open', PChar(ExeName), PChar(Parameters), nil, SW_SHOWNORMAL)> 32; end; Now, I switch to Windows 7 (don't like it; they stuck it on my throat with my new laptop) 64 bit and the code is not working anymore when it runs from IDE. Delhi shows the CPU window with the caption "CPU-Process unknown (2352)". I close the CU windows and everything works fine until I close the application, when Delphi shows the CPU window one more time. If I run the app from outside IDE, it works fine. Looks like the debugger has something to say to me, but I don't know what.

  Hi, I need to bea be able to use a static variable set in a class that extends a base class... from the base class. Consider this: class Animal { public static $color = 'black'; public static function get_color() { return self::$color; } } class Dog { public static $color = 'brown'; } echo Animal::get_color(); // prints 'black' echo Dog::get_color(); // also prints 'black' This works wonderfully in PHP 5.3.x (Dog::get_color() prints 'brown') since it has late static binding. • Geocoding autocomplete bias not working

  I'm using the following code to get the autocomplete functionality for an address input box using Google Maps API v3: function initializeAutocomplete() { var defaultBounds = new google.maps.LatLngBounds( new google.maps.LatLng(1.484016,103.575212), new google.maps.LatLng(1.233592,104.033618)); var input = document.getElementById('destStreet'); var myOptions = {bounds: defaultBounds, types: ['geocode']}; autocomplete = new google.maps.places.Autocomplete(input, myOptions); } The problem is that biasing doesn't seem to work as the first results are usually not relevant to the defined bounds (a country). I've seen a few apps working fine, so I'm wondering where the problem is. I came across the JQuery autocomplete plugin (http://code.google.com/p/geo-autocomplete/) which would seem like a good alternative since it has a region filter, but I'm unable to "install it" or use it because of my very limited knowledge (I learn by example). Could you please help me getting more relevant results with the above code or guide me through the implementation of the JQuery alternative? Of course I'm very open to other suggestions as well.

• How to sort a Ruby Hash by number value?

  Hi everyone, I have a counter hash that I am trying to sort by count. The problem I am running into is that the default Hash.sort function sorts numbers like strings rather than by number size. i.e. Given Hash: metrics = {"sitea.com" => 745, "siteb.com" => 9, "sitec.com" => 10 } Running this code: metrics.sort {|a1,a2| a2[1]<=>a1[1]} will return a sorted array: [ 'siteb.com', 9, 'sitea.com', 745, 'sitec.com', 10] Even though 745 is a larger number than 9, 9 will appear first in the list. When trying to show who has the top count, this is making my life difficult. :) Any ideas on how to sort a hash (or an array even) by number value size? I appreciate any help.

But then, if i try to declare a variable named a, b, c or f, visual studio pops a "A local variable named 'f' could not be declared at this scope because it would give a different meaning to 'f' which is used in a child scope." Basically, this fails, and I have no idea why, because a child scope doesn't even make any sense. • How does ImageView just redraw part of its content when invalidate(Rect) is called?

  Hi, guys I am new to Android development, just reading docs and trying the APIs. I am quit confused how ImageView managed to draw just a part of its content after an invalidate(Rect) invocation. I've checked ImageView.java, found no other drawing method except onDraw(Canvas), but onDraw(Canvas) only cut the drawable only if it is beyound the view's visible boundary. I also read the implementation of View.invalidate(Rect), I think the key of this function is calling to mParent.invalidateChild(this, r); However, I think the parent view doesn't know how to draw the child in the given Rect, it finally has to call some method of it child to paint out. Has anybody investigated this part of codes? Would you please give me some guide?

  TinEye provides a great way to "reverse" search by image (i.e. upload/transload an image and have multiple possible sources of that image returned as results.) Since screen-scraping is messy and unreliable, I'm looking for a free API/library/web-service that could offer the same (or similar) reverse-image search function. At present, TinEye offers a commercial API, but since I'll only be using the service for small personal projects, it's hard to justify the cost of the service (the lowest being 1,000 searches for $70 USD). Is anyone aware of such a free service? Or is there a simpler way to approach this (programmatic solution; any language)? I understand that this is a tall order, and submitting the question is really only a last resort in the hope that there is some solution. • How can I fix the scroll bug when using Windows rich edit controls in wxpython?

  When using wx.TextCtl with the wx.TE_RICH2 option in windows, I get this strange bug with the auto-scroll when using the AppendText function. It scrolls so that all the text is above the visible area, which isn't very useful behaviour. I tried just adding a call to ScrollLines(-1) after appending the text - which does scroll it to the correct position - but this can lead to the window flashing when it auto-scrolls. So I'm looking for another way to automatically scroll to the bottom. So far, my solution is to bypass the AppendText functions auto-scroll and implement my own, like this: def append_text(textctrl, text): before_number_of_lines = textctrl.GetNumberOfLines() textctrl.SetInsertionPointEnd() textctrl.WriteText(text) after_number_of_lines = textctrl.GetNumberOfLines() textctrl.ScrollLines(before_number_of_lines - after_number_of_lines + 1) Is there a better way?

  I'm working through O'Reilly's "Learning Python" and having a problem with classes. I think I understand the concept, but in practice have stumbled upon this problem. Fron page 88-89: >>> class Worker: def __innit__(self, name, pay): self.name=name self.pay=pay def lastName(self): return self.name.split()[-1] def giveRaise(self, percent): self.pay*=(1.0+percent) Then the book says "Calling the class like a function generates instances of a new type ...etc" and gives this example. bob = Worker('Bob Smith', 50000) This gives me this error: TypeError: this constructor takes no arguments. And then I start muttering profanities. So what am I doing wrong here? Thanks for the help.

  Hi all, I got a strange issue today while working on ExtJS charts. I am trying to use some of the events for the chart when user clicks on the chart items. I found the following events are available: itemclick, itemdoubleclick, itemdrag, itemdragstart, itemdragend, itemmouseover, itemmouseout Here is my test chart where I have implemented all these events. Each event just create a list tag in my debuging console. The issue is, no matter what, itemdoubleclick do not get fired! what is the issue? Why is it not getting fired? xtype:'columnchart', width:600, height:350, id:'myChart', store: store, xField: 'month', yField: 'sales', listeners: { itemdoubleclick: function(o) { var dh = Ext.DomHelper; dh.append('consoleList', {tag: 'li', html: 'itemdoubleclick'}); } } In firebug console, I see that this event is registered. • concatenating strings from two different rows in a table

  Hello, We are attempting to rework the SQL in a product. The product stores XML in a table as follows: XML_STORAGE - UID IDENTITY - PARENT_ID INTEGER - SEQ INTEGER - XML VARCHAR(3800) The current way of doing this is as follows: Retrieve all ROWS for PARENT_ID = n. Then go over the fetched rows in the code and concatenate the XML strings into one large XML before parsing. The SEQ column is used to ORDER the result so the XML strings can be concatenated properly. Hopefully that is clear. What we are attempting to do is rework this so we can use a SQL variant to retrieve the whole string and just fetch one row back from DB2. Is there a DB2 function that will allow us to concatenate the string in all of these rows into one large string in the resultset. How would such a SQL look. Please let me know. • How do I name an array key with a key inside the array

  I have some data, yes, data. This data came from a MySQL query and it will always contain 4 items, always. I want to cache that data in an array table for use later within a web page but I want to keep the keys from the query and separate out each grouping within a multidimensional array. However to save time iterating through the array each time I want to find a given group of data, I want to call the keys of the first array the same as the ID key which is always the first key within each four items. At the minute I'm using this code: function mysql_fetch_full_result_array($result) { $table_result=array(); $r=0; while($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)){ $arr_row=array(); $c=0; while ($c < mysql_num_fields($result)) { $col = mysql_fetch_field($result, $c); $arr_row[$col -> name] = $row[$col -> name]; $c++; } $table_result[$r] = $arr_row; $r++; } return $table_result; } I'm currently testing this using 3 unique users, so I'm getting three rows back from the query and the data from this function ends up in the format: [0]=> . . I know I need another loop but I'm struggling to work out how to write it.

• Testing file existence using NSURL

  Snow Leopard introduced many new methods to use NSURL objects to refer to files, not pathnames or Core Services' FSRefs. However, there's one task I can't find a URL-based method for: Testing whether a file exists. I'm looking for a URL-based version of -[NSFileManager fileExistsAtPath:]. Like that method, it should return YES if the URL describes anything, whether it's a regular file, a directory, or anything else. I could attempt to look up various resource values, but none of them are explicitly guaranteed to not exist if the file doesn't, and some of them (e.g., NSURLEffectiveIconKey) could be costly if it does. I could just use NSFileManager's fileExistsAtPath:, but if there's a more modern method, I'd prefer to use that. Is there a simple method or function in Cocoa, CF, or Core Services that's guaranteed/documented to tell me whether a given file (or file-reference) URL refers to a file-system object that exists?
