• activerecord search conditions - looking for null or false

  When doing a search in active record I'm looking for record's that do not have an archived bit set to true. Some of the archived bits are null (which are not archived) others have archived set to false. Obviously, Project.all(:conditions => {:archived => false}) misses the projects with the archived bits with null values. How can all non-archived projects be selected wtih active record?

  I have the following problem: I make a custom hosts file to test some features of my application and then push it to my android emulator. The thing is that these settings do not take effect immediately. I have to wait about 10 minutes before they become active. So my question is: how to make the new hosts file active instantly? I have many different settings to test and I can't wait 10 minutes every time.

• Eclipse/CDT editor not picking up project-defined symbols in coloring ifdef'ed out sections

  The problem I'm seeing is that under preferences, C/C++ Defined symbols for different Configurations/targets aren't showing up in the code coloring. When I change the active build configuration in the project menu, I would expect the editor & code coloring to pick up the symbols from the project settings, but it only seems to be picking up the symbols for one of the targets. Is there any way to have the code coloring for ifdef'ed code follow the active build configuration?

NSWorkspace returns me a list of active applications and i can sort them on a few options using NSRunningApplication. see list below: launchDate finishedLaunching processIdentifier i dont want the lauch date but the recent 'active' date (like the way cmd-tab sorts). I have a table (ps_category_product): id_product, id_category I want to perform a query on it like: SELECT id_product FROM ps_category_product WHERE id_category='$this_cat' BUT, I only want to perform this query where the ID's are returned by a query on another table (ps_product): id_product, active SELECT id_product FROM ps_product WHERE active='1' Can anyone help me with getting these two queries working together?

• Finding records when using has_many through associations

  I have two models, Worker and Project, and they are connected with has_many through association. I manage to find all the projects which are related to a specific worker by writing the following code: worker=Worker.find_by_id("some_id") worker.projects but I want the projects that I get to be only active projects (in the project model I have a status field) I tried to do something like worker.projects(:status_id=>'active') but it didn’t work for me. Can somebody tell me how I can do this?

• My Dijit DateTimeCombo widget doesn't send selected value on form submission

  i need to create a Dojo widget that lets users specify date & time. i found a sample implementation attached to an entry in the Dojo bug tracker. It looks nice and mostly works, but when i submit the form, the value sent by the client is not the user-selected value but the value sent from the server. What changes do i need to make to get the widget to submit the date & time value? Sample usage is to render a JSP with basic HTML tags (form & input), then dojo.addOnLoad a function which selects the basic elements by ID, adds dojoType attribute, and dojo.parser.parse()-es the page. • Both tab & hover triggered popups problem

  I am trying to display divs when hovering over thumb-nails and/or both when tabbing onto them. If I stick to my mouse, the popups seem to work OK - if I start with a tab press I can show the popops also (foward only - no shift + tab yet). • jQuery .append() not working in IE, Safari, and Chrome

  So I'm using jQuery's AJAX function to read some XML for me and it's worked just fine. But now I'm trying to manipulate the display property of 4 different dynamically generated divs. The size and x/y of the divs are determined by the XML and are parsed through. My problem lies in the face that these divs either aren't being generated or just don't show up in IE, Safari, and Chrome. In Firefox and Opera, they do work. I'm using jQuery's .append() to create the divs and then the .css() functino to manipulate them. Looking in Chrome's developer tools, I am seeing that the css property being changed in the script is being overridden by the property in the stylesheet.   Hi all I'm working on a GMaps application to retrieve images, via getJSON(), and to populate a popup marker. Then, I decided to think laterally and to see if the images were being retrieved at all. I then moved the images outside and sure as Bob (Hope), the images were being retrieved and refreshed with every click. So, I decided to the keep the images outside and then once loaded, append it to the CampWindow . It's not working still; when I append the div to the main CampWindow div, the images won't show. I check in Firebug with the pointer thingy and it shows me the images as empty. I try it again with the images outside and it shows the images. I've tried before append and appendTo with no success. Am I missing something here? I have no more woohoo to claw out. • Removing google mail markers with jquery after getting them from xml

  Hi there, I'm trying to create a page that contains a google map. The map is filled with markers from an xml file. I just can't figure out how to remove "old" markers, that don't match the latest user input. At the moment my js stops after the very first xml item. The clearList.push(marker); is supposed to put the generated marker away for later usage. When the user hits the search button I want all markers to be gone and use clearMarkers();. • Java, LDAP: Make it not ignore blank passwords?

  I'm maintaining some legacy Java LDAP code. I know next to nothing about LDAP. The program below basically just sends the userid and password to the LDAP server, receives notification back if the credentials are good. If so, it prints out the LDAP attributes received from the LDAP server, if not it prints out an exception. All works well if a bad password is given. An "invalid credentials" exception gets thrown. However, if a blank password is sent to the LDAP Server, authentication will still happen, LDAP attributes will still be returned. Is this unhappy situation due to the LDAP server allowing blank passwords, or does the code below need to be adjusted such a blank password will get fed to the LDAP server in such a way so it will get rejected? I do have data validation in place. I took it off in a testing environment to solve another issue and noticed this problem. I would prefer not to have this problem underneath the data validation.     Some times you need to prevent  User names ,E-mail ID's or other values from being duplicated by a new user during Registration or any other cases,So I will add a simple approach to make the page more user-friendly. Instead the user filled all the Registration fields then press submit after that received a message as a result of PostBack that "THIS USERNAME IS EXIST", Ajax tidies this up by allowing asynchronous querying while the user is still completing the registration form.   ASP.NET enables you to create Web services can be accessed from client script in Web pages by using AJAX technology to make Web service calls. Data is exchanged asynchronously between client and server, typically in JSON format.
