How to take a screenshot on Windows 7 and auto create screenshot file on desktop like Mac?

I'm trying to find information how do we take a screenshot on Windows 7 that will actually create a screenshot file like .png in to your desktop like on mac where you can do it by press Command+Control+Shift+4. In windows all I know is that I can do it by press press = Windows captures the entire screen and copies it to the clipboard. or for the Active windows I can just do hold and press = Windows captures only the currently active window and copies it to the clipboard. Right now I'm using maComFort which it gives me functionality of Mac like keyboard that I can take screenshot in such the same way with Mac OS X but really it changes many of the key in my keyboard in the way I don't like. So I wonder if there is a better way?

Python Vector Class

I'm coming from a C# background where this stuff is super easy—trying to translate into Python for Maya. There's gotta' be a better way to do this. Basically, I'm looking to create a Vector class that will simply have x, y and z coordinates, but it would be ideal if this class returned a tuple with all 3 coordinates and if you could edit the values of this tuple through x, y and z properties, somehow. This is what I have so far, but there must be a better way to do this than using an exec statement, right? Losing internet connectivity on server after installing LogMeIn Hamachi (with server set as gateway node)

Our domain controller (SBS 2003) completely lost internet and network connectivity yesterday after I remotely installed LogMeIn Hamachi on it and set it to be a gateway node- in an attempt to create a VPN link between the server and a remote site. I had to go in to the office to resolve the problem as, unsurprisingly, my own remote access to the server was also lost. I was only able to restore network connectivity by deleting a virtual network adapter Hamachi created when making the server the gateway node (called "Hamachi bridge" I believe), then rebooting the server. This is a repeatable problem. Every time I try to get this to work, it just takes the server offline. Why would this bridge affect regular TCP/IP connectivity on the NIC in this way? I have tried a "hub-and-spoke" configuration between the server and our PC at a remote site (server set as hub, remote site as spoke). This caused no such problems with general internet connectivity, and file transfer worked well between the two computers. However, there was a DNS issue with the VPN between the two sites- resulting in Active Directory not being able to communicate between them (could not log on using domain user accounts at remote site if they were not already cached on that machine). I only tried a "gateway" network as LogMeIn support told me: If you can get the Active Directory to work it would only be through a "Gateway" network type with the server acting as the Gateway Node. You would configure the gateway settings on the server in the Hamachi client on that machine to push whatever IP's/DNS settings you prefer and at that point AD would be able (all things being equal) communicate to the client node when it attaches. We do not have any ActiveDirectory configuration info as that's outside the scope of our support. I hope this helps. It would be fantastic if I could get Active Directory to work over a Hamachi VPN connection, without worrying about the server going offline in this way. Does anyone have any ideas how I should proceed, or any theories as to what is going on when I try to use the "gateway" network type? I want to try to narrow down what is going on here.

jsTree causes that links on whole page are broken

Opera: closed window w/many tabs, window still open w/one tab, how to retrieve the many tabs

This is a little recipe for a little disaster: accidentally close a window with many important tabs open, only to find out that another window is still active with one tab open. Closing it will overwrite the saved tabs of the other window, which I want to recover. I need to recover the window with "many tabs" if possible,I didn't yet close the window with the one tab open, hopefully that prevents overwriting the saved settings. How do I retrieve, now that Opera is still active, the tabs of the closed window? I.e., where would Opera normally store these tabs when it closes a window? Can I prevent it from overwriting the saved state of "many tabs" with the current "one tab"?

Is it possible to use the MMM tool without virtual IP capability?

We are on a host (Serverbeach) that does not support Virtual/floating IPs until you reserve at least a half-rack, which is just a little more than we are willing to spend per month right now. We do have 2 machines in one of their datacenters, and I am using these 2 machines right now in the Master-Master in Active-Passive Mode just like done by MMM -- http://mysql-mmm.org/. I have just set them up and I managing them manually, with manual switch on the Web frontend to tell it to connect to the correct (active) master. Is there any way to use MMM without virtual IPs? Any other comments on this setup?

SQL Server Management Studio Reports: Why no open transactions?

On a server with several hundred user connections, when I open the SQL Server 2008 SP1 Management Studio report "Database - User Statistics", the result page shows the following results: Login Name: appUser Active Sessions: 243 Active Connections: 243 Open Transactions: 374 Still, when I open the report "Database - All Transactions" on the same DB, it doesn't show any connections ("Currently, there are no transactions running for [Database Name] Database"). What gives? Is this a bug in Management Studio? This is not the only report where this kind of behavious happens... Thanks all!

I know that it Delegates all other attributes from Person class. but I do not understand the way it works. for example why from Person class? as I do not explicitly tell it to. person(module is different than Person(class) Any help is highly appreciated :)

Mindblowing jQuery Weirdness

...at least to me. This code used to work fine. I'm pretty sure nothing has changed, but now all of the sudden it behaves oddly. Basically I'm trying to create inline editing functionality. When the user clicks on the link, it dynamically generates a textbox and a confirm and cancel link. I'm having problems with the cancel link not removing everything in the cell. Generate canonical / real URL based on base.href or location

Is there a method/function to get the canonical / transformed URL, respecting any base.href setting of the page? I can get the base URL via (in jQuery) using $("base").attr("href") and I could use string methods to parse the URL meant to being made relative to this, but $("base").attr("href") has no host, path etc attributes (like window.location has) manually putting this together is rather tedious E.g., given a base.href of "http://example.com/foo/" and a relative URL "/bar.js", the result should be: "http://example.com/bar.js" If base.href is not present, the URL should be made relative to window.location. This should handle non-existing base.href (using location as base in this case). Is there a standard method available for this already? (I'm looking for this, since jQuery.getScript fails when using a relative URL like "/foo.js" and BASE tag is being used (FF3.6 makes an OPTIONS request, and nginx cannot handle this). When using the full URL (base.href.host + "/foo.js", it works).)

Append a string to the end of an element attribute using jQuery

I have an element: <select id="row" /> I want to append a string to the end of the id attribute, like this: <select id="row_1" /> The jQuery I am using to achieve this is (from within an each): $(this).attr('id',$(this).attr('id')+'_'+row_count); This looks ugly as sin, and whilst it works I want to know if there is a simpler solution. In this example, the ID prefix (e.g. row) is never constant, so I can't just do 'row_'+row_count. Cheers!

I run thttpd to serve some perl files. But for some reason the daemon is exiting every second or third day. Strangely it's always at 6.25 am. While having one of my questions answered, cletus mentioned that when creating elements in jQuery it's better to use direct DOM element creation, instead of innerHTML. I tried googling it but I wasn't able to find a good article with comparisons. List of MD /Raid/LVM (Devices) = How to mount them without any further information available?

Hello Expets, I do not have much skills in linux and installed a system two years ago that I now had to reboot, but it seems I did not automate everything with start-scripts... My Problem: I miss some mountpoints. I have a list of my raids (excerpt:) md3 : active (auto-read-only) raid1 sda6[0] sdb6[1] 97659008 blocks [2/2] [UU] md4 : active (auto-read-only) raid1 sda7[0] sdb7[1] 250099776 blocks [2/2] [UU] and it seems md3 and md4 are NOT mounted. However i do NOT have any entries for them fstab file. What should I do next. I do NOT know which filesystem they have (most likely ext3). =Can I savely try to mount them with (mount -t ext3 /dev/md3 /mnt/mymntpoint) or will the lead to corrupted data, in case they are not ext3? What should I do next (based on the information given above). The goal is to remount these Devices again, but I do not know anything about them anymore... Thank you very much Jens

Disk Management Hidden Partitions - PTEDIT32

Apparently PTEDIT32 can edit partitions, making partitions that are hidden, visible. My purpose is to take a hidden partition on a toshiba laptop (the recovery partition) and copy it as my hard drive is beginning to fail. My problem, is that I cannot find PTEDIT32 documentation on what i want to change the partition # to. I know that changing it from 27 to 7 would change it from hidden to active - but if I set it to active, I am worried it will try to launch the recovery mode (as that is what it did on a previous laptop) Here is the link I used for instructions to do this on a previous laptop: Hidden_Recovery_Link_Site So how to make the hidden partition visible without it actually RUNNING the recovery mode?

jquery ajax post callback - manipulation stops after the "third" call

EDIT: The problem is not related to Boxy, I've run into the same issue when I've used JQuery 's load method. EDIT 2: When I take out link.remove() from inside the ajax callback and place it before ajax load, the problem is no more. Are there restrictions for manipulating elements inside an ajax callback function. I am using JQuery with Boxy plugin. When the 'Flag' link on the page is clicked, a Boxy modal pops-up and loads a form via ajax. When the user submits the form, the link (<a> tag) is removed and a new one is created from the ajax response. This mechanism works for, well, 3 times! After the 3rd, the callback function just does not remove/replace/append (tested several variations of manipulation) the element. The only hint I have is that after the 3rd call, the parent of the link becomes non-selectable. However I can't make anything of this. Sorry if this is a very trivial issue, I have no experience in client-side programming. Best solution for High Availability and SSRS on SQL Server 2008 R2?

I have 2 Physical Servers with SQL Server 2008 R2. – SQL Server 1(Active) & SQL Server 2 (Passive) Web Application is developed using .Net 4.0 Framework. I want to know the best solution to have high availability and also have SSRS for reporting. Planned solution: Mirroring for Failover, and Transaction Replication for SSRS as the mirrored database can only be used for failover scenarios. SSRS will be on the Passive server, to reduce the load on the Active server. Let me know if the solution is correct. Also suggest alternate approaches.
