  I cannot figure out how to set an array to one of two sets of numbers (there will be more later), every way that I have tried throws some kind of error. I have tried to Dim the array inside the case statements, but then I cannot use the array in the For Each, which makes this worthless.... any ideas would be appreciated. • Why isn't "String or Binary data would be truncated" a more descriptive error?

  To start: I understand what this error means - I'm not attempting to resolve an instance of it. This error is notoriously difficult to troubleshoot, because if you get it inserting a million rows into a table 100 columns wide, there's virtually no way to determine what column of what row is causing the error - you have to modify your process to insert one row at a time, and then see which one fails. That's a pain, to put it mildly. Is there any reason that the error doesn't look more like this? String or Binary data would be truncated Error inserting value "Some 18 char value" into SomeTable.SomeColumn VARCHAR(10) That would make it a lot easier to find and correct the value, if not the table structure itself. If seeing the table data is a security concern, then maybe something generic, like giving the length of the attempted value and the name of the failing column?

  Is it possible to change the color of a line using rCharts and Highcharts so that the line color changes depending on a factor? I've done this with ggplot2 but would like to make an interactive version if possible. • mysql select from a table depending on in which table the data is in

  I have 3 tables holding products for a restaurant. Products that reside in the bar, food and ingredients. I use php and mysql. I have another table that holds information about the orders that have been made so far. There are 2 fields, the most important ones, that hold information about the id of the product and the type (from the bar, from the kitchen or from the ingredients). I was thinking to write the sql query like below to use either the table for bar products, kitchen or ingredients but it doesn't work. Basically the second table on join must be either "bar", "produse" or "stoc". • Regex question: Why isn't this matching?

  I have the following regex: (?<=\.\d+?)0+(?=\D|$) I'm running it against a string which contains the following: SVC~NU^0270~313.3~329.18~~10~~6.00: When it runs, it matches the 6.00 (correctly) which my logic then trims by one zero to turn into 6.0. The regex then runs again (or should) but fails to pick up the 6.0. I'm by no means an expert on Regex, but my understanding of my expression is that it's looking for a decimal with 1 or more optional (so, really zero or more) digits prior to one or more zeros which are then followed by any non-digit character or the line break. Assuming that interpretation is correct, I can't see why it wouldn't match on the second pass. For that matter, I'm not sure why my Regex.Replace isn't matching the full 6.00 on the first pass and removing both of the trailing zeros... Any suggestions?

  I have scripts for adding columns to tables which worked.   I have the following code snippets - (void)touchesEnded:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { UITouch *touch = [touches anyObject]; NSUInteger numberTaps = [touch tapCount]; // Tapping if (numberTaps > 0) { // do something } ... The above code basically detects a single tap on a small image (width = 18 and height = 36). It works 90% of the time detecting a single tap. But it sometime misses it (randomly). I have to tap several times before it picks up the single tap. What did I do wrong or miss so I could consistently detect the single tap 100%? Thanks in advance for your help.

  I would like to resolve this 'error: gnome.h: No such file or directory ' on ubuntu. I get this error: /bin/sh: gnome-config: not found In file included from TestMDI.cpp:18: ../../../../dist/include/system_wrappers/gnome.h:3:24: error: gnome.h: No such file or directory From this: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=295105 I tried: $ sudo apt-get install libgnomeui-dev Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done libgnomeui-dev is already the newest version. 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 21 not upgraded. But that still does not resolve my problem. Any idea how to fix it?

• Developer workload management software: recommendations?

  In my place, we use two issue tracking tools, one for production bugs, and another for issues on projects in development. These tools are good for managers. However, at an individual level, other work can also arrive through desk visits, email, or the phone, and those allocating the work aren't always interested in issue tracking systems. I've recently rolled off an 18-month project where I got into a cycle of overtime, and I found that I didn't always have good visibility of all work assigned to me. As a result, I was always very busy, and felt constantly laden down with work, but didn't have the clear data to show my manager (or, ironically, the time to stop and gather the information!). A handwritten list, updated at the end of each day, is a good start, but can anyone recommend better tools to help me get a clear view of my own workload? Ideally, I'm thinking of software tools for developers, which could incorporate estimates, but all suggestions welcome. Thanks, Paddy

  I am working on a basic shell interpreter to familiarize myself with Rust. • OpenCV, Python (ctypes), and OS X 10.5: dylib errors/confusion

  I have tried two brands of ctypes (ctypes-opencv and another) wrappers for OpenCV (2.0 from svn head), can use Python and OpenCV in the Python console, but whenever I try to import the packages (from ctypes_opencv import *) from another Python file, I get the following error message: OSError: dlopen(/usr/local/lib/libcv.dylib, 6): Symbol not found: __ZN2cv10fastMallocEm Referenced from: /usr/local/lib/libcv.dylib Expected in: flat namespace And some more Python errors: module body in __init__.py at line 18 from ctypes_opencv.cxcore import * module body in cxcore.py at line 80 _cxDLL, _cvDLL, _hgDLL = detect_opencv() function detect_opencv in cxcore.py at line 59 cvDLL = cdll.LoadLibrary(find_lib('cv')) function LoadLibrary in __init__.py at line 431 return self._dlltype(name) function __init__ in __init__.py at line 353 self._handle = _dlopen(self._name, mode) I most recently built OpenCV using flags the ctypes_opencv wiki recommended: ENABLE_SSE(2) OFF and BUILD_NEW_PYTHON_SUPPORT OFF. I've tried a number of flag combinations though. I also tried using the MacPorts install of OpenCV, got the same messages, uninstalled it, and now it errors out as well. :P And if that wasn't enough, I tried using the latest ctypes wrapper, but get boost-jam errors. Any help would be very much appreciated.

• Use DivX settings to encode to mp4 with ffmpeg

  I'm used to use VirtualDub to encode a video to AVI container with DivX-codec (and MP3 for audio). Now I'm planning to use ffmpeg to encode videos to MP4 container with h264-codec. What I've figured out is that I need to use libx264 and one of those presets to make anything work. However, I'm amazed about the video bitrate ffmpeg uses for encoding. What I currently have is this little batch file: @ECHO OFF SETLOCAL SET IN=source.avs SET FFMPEG_PATH=C:\Program Files (x86)\ffmpeg SET PRESET=-fpre "%FFMPEG_PATH%\presets\libx264-lossless_slow.ffpreset" SET AUDIO=-acodec libmp3lame -ab 128000 SET VIDEO=-vcodec libx264 -vb 1978000 "%FFMPEG_PATH%\ffmpeg.exe" -i %IN% %AUDIO% %VIDEO% %PRESET% test.mp4 ENDLOCAL With this I tell ffmpeg to use 1978k as the bitrate, but ffmpeg uses 15000k+! I tried other presets, but they don't use my specified bitrate. Just in case you wonder how I came up with the 1978000, I'm using this formula which I found valid for DivX-files (I'm guessing the bitrate won't change that much for h264): width * height * 25 * 0.22 / 1000 I'm not sure if the 0.22 correlates with the CRF somehow. Overall I forgot to say the I will use a two-pass scenario, which is why I don't use the CRF here. I will try to read more about this. Currently I'm just trying to get something running that shows me that I'm doing something right (ffmpeg isn't the easiest tool to understand ;)).   I found that the "with rollup" option used with group by is very useful. But it does not behave with "order by" clause. Is there any way to order by the way I want as well as calculate the sub-totals? • Crash in Reachability API

  I'm using the Reachability sample code provided by Apple to check the network connectivity and get notified of changes (Reachability Sample code). I had a look at some crash locks of my app. It seems that some crashes are due to the Reachability/SystemConfiguration Reachablity API stuff (see below). SCNetworkReachabilityGetFlags is only used in the Reachability class provided by Apple. Or am I misinterpreting the crash log?
