  Hi i have a web application where i plant a cookie on my page. Then the user goes to another page, and from that page calls my page from a script, like this: <script type="text/javascript" src="http://domain.com/page.aspx?id=6" ></script> But i cant access the cookie when it calls my page, why not? and how to work around it?   Different websites are giving different opinions. My understanding is this: To clean up or reclaim the memory that an object occupies, the Garbage collector comes into action. (automatically is invoked???) The garbage collector then dereferences the object. Sometimes, there is no way for the garbage collector to access the object. Then finalize is invoked to do a final clean up processing after which the garbage collector can be invoked. is this right?

• TFS 2005 version control DLLs in the bin folder?

  I noticed that the DLLs in the bin folder for asp.net websites do not seem to be getting saved. When I goto a new computer and get latest I am missing the DLLs. What is the correct way to fix this ? Should I create a seperate folder to contains all DLLs ? And then can I somehow tell my bin references to goto that folder to get the DLLs?

  Hi, Can anybody detail some approach on how to save private data in social websites like facebook, etc. They cant save all the updates and friends list in clear text format because of privacy issues. So how do they actually save it? Hashing all the data with user password so that only a valid session view it is one possibility. For example I am using this: del /S /Q D:\www\site-name\cache\* Which works, but I have to add a new line for every site in D:\www. The del command doesn't support: del /S /Q D:\www\*\cache\* So what is a better way to do this?

• Dll in both the bin and the gac, which one gets used?

  We have a web application that's deployed to many websites with only frontend changes, the shared backend portion has it's DLL in the GAC so we only have to update that one dll and all the sites get the update. Is there a way to override the GAC with a DLL in the /bin folder to test out new features before they get released?
