  • What may be wrong with String::ToIdentifier::EN tests?

    I try to install Perl module String::ToIdentifier::EN (as depndency of DBIx::Class::Schema::Loader) but it fails on tests.   • Need help ttoubleshooting PC

    I have had problems since my dog pee'd on my computer. Problem: loads windows fine, at random intervals from 5 minutes to 30 minutes it restarts itself. There is nothing in the event log such as errors, no BSOD, just cold restart. after rstarting - sometimes- it POST's and restarts itself at the end of POST. It will do this many times and then finally load windows. The cycle then begins again, it will restart eventually. What i have done: I thought it was HDD at first, since this is the only part of the coputer which actually got wet with any fluid ( the case is off the PC and the dog pee'd down the front where the HDD is located). Seatool, the seagate HDD tool, found errors when I ran it inside windows, so I ran it in DOS mode from bootable USB and ran it. It found the same number of errors and fixed them all. I ran the scan again and it says "Good". I loaded windows and ran the scan and it also said "Good there. So the HDD apears to be fine but the problem persists, random restarts. What else could this be? I have taken the computer apart and cleaned everything and also taken the PSU apart and cleaned it thoughrouly. The problem still persists, what should my next steps be?   • Windows 7 not booting up and stuck at startup repair

    I've been having issues with Windows 7 Home Premium on a Lenovo laptop. At first, it would not start up normally at all. I started it in Safe Mode, where I disabled all non-MS services and tried again to no avail. It then goes into Startup repair where it failed several times. I tried copying the original registry settings, still the same. I resorted to booting with an Ubuntu DVD, where I ran the boot-repair, where it is supposed to correct the Windows boot. No luck. I used Win7 DVD to start up from there, where I had the option to install or repair. I chose the repair, got into command prompt, ran chkdsk /i /r, where it found 3 unreadable segments, went through the 2nd step without issues, and the 3rd step completed with some errors (can't recall the exact errors). When I restarted the machine, it went to straight to the Stratup Repair, indicating "Attempting repairs... Repairing dis errors. This might take over an hour to complete." It's been like this for nearly 15 hours. When I try to cancel or close the Startup Repair window, I get a message "The current repair operation cannot be cancelled." Should I let it run or force shut the machine? If force shut, how can I resolve this problem? Thanks.

  • System Issues and Major Malfuctions after Failed hibernation Exit

    I have a HP G71-340US that went into hibernation mode for a while and when I tried coming out of it, I got an error message: You're computer cannot come out if hibernation . Status: 0xc000009a Info: A fatal error occurred processing the restoration data. File: \hiberfil.sys Any information that was not saved before the computer went into hybernation will be lost enter=continue So I hit continue and it ran soooo super slow it. It was seriously crawling. Finally I gave up and turned it off manually (IE press and hold the button). It's been a week or two since then and EVERY SINGLE TIME I have tried to to do ANYTHING it takes forever. When I say forever, I literally mean takes 5-7 minutes to load the internet, then the page itself, then to click a link, so on so forth. Eventually everything just goes not responding and I have to give up (4-6 HOURS later). I also cannot access my thumb/jump drives once I've managed to load windows. I was going to try runing malware bytes incase of a virus, but it's windows explorer developes errors and goes not responding on me. Currently I'm running scan disk or check disk and like every file is coming back unreadable. I let it run the last 2 hours straight in chkdesk and I'm only at 6 percent with around 500+ errors and still going. Yes, I've taken logs of the errors via cell phone camera and patience. A week or two prior to this happening I had to change our the hard drive due to blunt force trama next to the mouse. OH! Running on Windows 7: ) And I've tried loading the computer in safe mode and it makes absolutely no difference. Any and all help would be appreciated. I really don't know what to do from here and I'm kind of freaking out. I've googled different part of the error and things that I've done/seen and there are so many different answers/topics that I thought it best to just post the questions.

Consider a WCF service that is supposed to use Powershell 2.0 remoting to execute MSBuild on remote machines. In both cases the scripting environments are being called in-process (via C# for Powershell and via Powershell for MSBuild), rather than 'shelling-out' - this was a specific design decision to avoid command-line hell as well as to enable passing actual objects into the Powershell script.   • Detect user logout / shutdown in Python / GTK under Linux - SIGTERM/HUP not received

    OK this is presumably a hard one, I've got an pyGTK application that has random crashes due to X Window errors that I can't catch/control. So I created a wrapper that restarts the app as soon as it detects a crash, now comes the problem, when the user logs out or shuts down the system, the app exits with status 1. But on some X errors it does so too. But not on my System. GDM doesn't care about the script at all, when I relog, it's still running. I've also tried using shopt -s huponexit, with no success. EDIT2: Also here's some more information aboute the real code, the whole thing looks like this: Wrapper Script, that catches errors and restarts the programm -> Main Programm with GTK Mainloop -> Background Updater Thread The flow is like this: Start Wrapper -> enter restart loop while restarts < max: -> start program -> check return code -> write error to file or exit the wrapper on 0 Now on shutdown, start program return 1. That means either it did hanup or the parent process terminated, the main problem is to figure out which of these two did just happen. X Errors result in a 1 too.   • Pointer arithmetic and arrays: what's really legal?

    Consider the following statements: int *pFarr, *pVarr; int farr[3] = {11,22,33}; int varr[3] = {7,8,9}; pFarr = &(farr[0]); pVarr = varr; At this stage, both pointers are pointing at the start of each respective array address. For *pFarr, we are presently looking at 11 and for *pVarr, 7. Equally, if I request the contents of each array through *farr and *varr, i also get 11 and 7. So far so good. Now, let's try pFarr++ and pVarr++. Great. We're now looking at 22 and 8, as expected. But now... Trying to move up farr++ and varr++ ... and we get "wrong type of argument to increment". Now, I recognize the difference between an array pointer and a regular pointer, but since their behaviour is similar, why this limitation?   • Please help with 'System.Data.DataRowView' does not contain a property with the name...

    My application works just fine until, in some unidentified conditions, it begins throwing this errors: When these errors start appearing, they appear in all over the application, no matter the code is built using ObjectDataSource or SqlDataSource. However, apparently, if the code uses some "classic", code-behind data-binding, that code does not throw errors (they do not show in the application event log), the page is displayed but it does not contain any data.... Please HELP tracking these very strange errors !!!!!!   • Extending Jquery validate to show/hide div or clear div after validate is ran

    Right now i have all of my errors outputting to a div. Id like to catch the validate event and clear the div right before its ran of my old errors. Then id like to show/hide that div based on if it has any labels in it that were auto generated by the jquery validation plugin. I can do everything but figure out how to extend the event, run the stuff i need to, then call the validate function. Thanks!

I'm writing a WCF application at the moment and have started logging errors to the windows event viewer when I handle them. I then started thinking, should I be logging more than just errors, such as when a user has logged in or out or would you go further logging even more activity? Or is this a tool that's mainly used for testing without using the debugger? Any input appreciated:-)

    In my en.yml translation file, I have: activerecord: errors: template: header: one: "1 error prohibited this {{model}} from being saved" other: "{{count}} errors prohibited this {{model}} from being saved" When an activerecord/validation error occurs during logging into my application, the error message: "1 error prohibited this user session from being saved" is displayed (where user_session is the model being used). I'd rather have it say something like "An error has occured to prevent you from logging into your account". How do I override the generic error message with my specific one?
