• ssh refuses to authenticate keys

  So I am setting up a connection between my machine [fedora 17] and a virtual machine running in Virtual Box in which is running CentOS 5. Since each VM on host is allowed only 4 vCPUs max VMWare ESX/ESXi limits the no of vCPUs per guest VM depending on the license: standard Lic = 4 vCPU Advanced Lic = 4 since i dont know exact number is there need to upgrade to Advanced version for any perf benefits if none of VMs have workloads that need more than 4 vCPUs?

  I have a broken AVI, it won't play in VLC, Xine or MPlayer. I tried Handbrake (reads the file and resets the source to None), OggConvert, Avidemux and mencoder fail to read the file, I cannot seem to reencode this file. I suspect the header info is corrupt, is there a way to get the a/v streams out with a missing header?

It is supposed to work on Linux, and the gem installs with no errors, but whenever I run any Heroku command it spits out several errors, all connected, and talking about a failed require. I looked it up in the code, and it says: require 'readline' That is it. I have tried to install every variation of libreadline that I can find and think of, but none of it makes any difference.

  On my Windows Vista PC, there is always an instance of "GoogleUpdate.exe" running. I find this annoying, so I'd like to make sure it doesn't start automatically. This proves to be not so easy, as I have tried these solutions: I disabled the "Google updateservice" service I removed the registry section "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\Google Update" None of these worked. The registry section is simply re-added. Does anyone know the trick to avoid GoogleUpdate.exe to be started after booting the system?

This is fine under Linux as all the information is shown as long as the it is started from a shell. However, under Windows none of the information is show even when started from a shell. Is there a way to make this information displayed in the shell or to capture it in say a file?

  So I bought a Cyborg RAT 7 mouse a while back, and I love it, except for one thing: it's not automatically selecting the profile for the game I've just started. This is annoying because, for instance, I have the forward and back buttons, as well as the side scroll set up for weapon selection in some games, and if the proper profile isn't selected before starting the game, none of it works. How can I get my mouse to load the proper profile when I start up a game?
