  • How do I prove to a client/advertiser that my site's analytics numbers are what I say they are?

    I have been asked to provide recommendations on "Verified Analytics" for the next iteration of my company's site. Verified to mean that when we sell ad space, it's based on a number of page-views, and the people who buy that space want a way to verify that the numbers we give them are the actual numbers we're delivering. I have turned to The Google and the only services I can find for this sort of thing revolve around Google Analytics and the sale of a domain name. I export my analytics numbers to a PDF, have Google email the PDF to my auctioneer, and they look for signs of tampering. If no signs of tampering are found they put a little "Verified" badge on the domain auction. (Here) Other than this, and something similar on another domain sales site, I haven't found anything like what I've been asked to find. Currently we are using Google Analytics, however I've been also asked to recommend a replacement for that based on the ability to be verified. I'd rather just stick with Google Analytics since we also use Google for advertising.

  • What's a better way to display a handle for resizing a view on iPhone / iPad?

    I want to display a handle at the corners of a UIView that can be used to resize the view. How can I display the handles floating on the top of everything else and still have a connection to and be in sync with a view? The solution I implemented before looks like this: I put the view into another view that shows the handles on top of the corners. The problem with this approach is that the handles add extra space to the original view's size. Since Apple recommends at least 40 x 40 px for the size of a button, it is not very little space and also goes beyond the visible bounds of the original view. Another problem is that the original view has to be encapsulated in this 'helper view' object and thus becomes a part of something although it really is the main component.

    Hi! I have a login page with an input of type "password" I would like to have a virtual keyboard to enter the password. I've searched and I found the jquery script for virtual keyboard.   • problem with parsing string from excel file

    hi, i have ruby code to parse data in excel file using Parseexcel gem. I need to save 2 columns in that file into a Hash, here is my code: worksheet.each { |row| if row != nil key = row.at(1).to_s.strip value = row.at(0).to_s.strip if !parts.has_key?(key) and key.length 0 parts[key] = value end end } however it still save duplicate keys into the hash: "020098-10". I checked the excel file at the specified row and found the difference are " 020098-10" and "020098-10". the first one has a leading space while the second doesn't. I dont' understand is it true that .strip function already remove all leading and trailing white space? also when i tried to print out key.length, it gave me these weird number: 020098-10 length 18 020098-10 length 17 which should be 9....

  • What is the cost in bytes for the overhead of a sql_variant column in SQL Server?

    I have a table, which contains many columns of float data type with 15 digit precision. Each column consumes 8 bytes of storage. Most of the time the data does not require this amount of precision and could be stored as a real data type. In many cases the value can be 0, in which case I could get away with storing a single byte. My goal here is to optimize space storage requirements, which is an issue I am facing working with a SQL Express 4GB database size limit. If byte, real and float data types are stored in a sql_variant column there is obviously some overhead involved in storing these values. What is the cost of this overhead? I would then need to evaluate whether I would actually end up in significant space savings (or not) switching to using sql_variant column data types. Thanks, Elan

    Hi, I have all written code and i want to this code standarise by php code sniffer. I would like to know what is the best way to start with it . I had installed it but when i run the command phpcs /path/to/code/myfile.php in the command line i got the last one hundered line error from 310 to 410 . but if i want to see the starting errors of any line error how can i see that . Mostly errors are 322 | ERROR | Spaces must be used to indent lines; tabs are not allowed 322 | ERROR | Line indented incorrectly; expected at least 8 spaces, found 2 How can i solve these things easily and in future it don't repeat , what it saying that i should not use tab , and use space , by using space it will take time . and how can i start with basic standard ,because don't want to utilise more time in this right now. The remove process could not remove white spaces from the quoted string like: 'text, "FROM" \'from\\' x' "sample text 'where' \"where\\" " etc. i need to use the PHP function: preg_replace($pattern, $replacement, $string); So what will be the value of $pattern and $replacement where the value of $string is the given SQL.

    In my application I have keys that bound to commands using the KeyBinding class. The command is executed when the key is pressed and released. I have a special case where I want to bind separate commands to the pressed action and to the released action. For example when the space key is pressed I want my app to run a command to enter a special mode. Then when the space key is released I want to run another command to exit that special mode. Currently I do this by manually handling the KeyUp and KeyDown events. Is there anyway to execute commands for pressed and released purely in XAML?

  • How to define and work with an array of bits in C?

    I want to create a very large array on which I write '0's and '1's. I'm trying to simulate a physical process called random sequential adsorption, where units of length 2, dimers, are deposited onto an n-dimensional lattice at a random location, without overlapping each other. The process stops when there is no more room left on the lattice for depositing more dimers (lattice is jammed). Initially I start with a lattice of zeroes, and the dimers are represented by a pair of '1's. As each dimer is deposited, the site on the left of the dimer is blocked, due to the fact that the dimers cannot overlap. So I simulate this process by depositing a triple of '1's on the lattice. I need to repeat the entire simulation a large number of times and then work out the average coverage %. I've already done this using an array of chars for 1D and 2D lattices. At the moment I'm trying to make the code as efficient as possible, before working on the 3D problem and more complicated generalisations.   • Qt: Styling QTabWidget

    I'm using Qt and I have a QTabWidget setup in the Qt Designer Editor, you can see it in picture 1. As you can see after Tab4 there is an empty space all the way to the right edge, in someway I need to fill that space with a color, like in picture 2. Or another solution would be that the tabs float out to cover the whole screen. I use the following stylesheet right now: QTabWidget::tab-bar { } QTabBar::tab { background: gray; color: white; padding: 10px; } QTabBar::tab:selected { background: lightgray; } Is there a way to set the background color of the QTabBar using Qt stylesheets? Or can I get the tabs floating out to the edge using Qt stylesheets? Thanks!

  • TToolButton Height Grows with Style = tbsDropdown

    I noticed that the height of a TToolButton increases when you set the button's Style to tbsDropdown. I can understand the width increasing, so the button has space to draw the down arrow, but I'm not sure a height increase is necessary. Steps to reproduce the issue (Delphi 2010, Windows 7 x64): Add TToolbar to a form, ShowCaptions=True Right click to add a button to the Toolbar Set button Style=tbsDropDown and notice the button grows in height The same height increase happens when there are images assigned to the toolbar, in which case there is already plenty more vertical space available in the button to draw the drop down. Here's a visual example: Is there a workaround for this without hacking the VCL, or is this hardcoded into the Windows control?

    Hi. I'm using Dreamweaver to update copyright dates across my site. I want to preserve the existing spacing (or lack thereof) between years. Examples: © 2002-2008 should update to © 2002-2009 © 2003 - 2008 should update to © 2003 - 2009 This is the regular expression I'm using to accomplish this in Dreamweaver's find & replace function Find: ©\s*(\d{4}\s*-\s*)\d{3}[^9] Replace: © $1 2009 Here's the PROBLEM: This expression works, but has that that extra space between the hyphen and 2009. If I write the replace expression without the space, as © $12009 then dreamweaver looks for the 12,009th substitution in the find expression, and, not finding one, prints $12009. Any ideas?

  • Displaying same image multiple times at different locations in a web page using JavaScript or CSS

    I’m looking to create a web page with 6 coupons on it, two per line in a web space of 1275 X 1650. Each coupon space will consist of a different image. The problem is I will be creating 20 such web pages that will have these coupons on them. Now some of the same images will appear in different locations/positions on the various web pages. Is there a way to update the same image that appear in different locations/positions at the same time? And what language is used to complete this? I’ve tried CSS but it don’t think it’s possible. So should I be using JavaScript.

  • Reading from the HTML DOM returns UTF-8 characters

    I have a contenteditable div where I'm reading individual characters and sending them off to a server (for more background this is similar to Google Wave where typing a character automatically sends it) I was using a plain old html textfield before and everything worked fine until I "upgraded" to a contenteditable div. My problem is that now the characters are in UTF-8 format, which is causing some weird problems on the server that I would rather not debug. It would be much easier to force everything to be ASCII on the client side. Is there any way to do this? I tried putting in a meta tag stating the html file is charset=ISO-8859-1, but it doesnt seem to work. Reading from the div tag still returns UTF-8 codes. (One example is when I press space I get the pair 0xC2 0xA0 which corresponds to a "non-breaking white space"

  • Android RelativeLayout spacing

    Hi, I'm just putting the finishing touches to my Android app. Unfortunately, I dug straight into development without reading the documentation and built my layout with AbsoluteLayout and it turned out to look terrible when I loaded the app on my phone. Now I'm redoing the UI in a RelativeLayout and I want to put empty canvas space in between my ViewGroups in the y-direction. I am currently achieving this by putting random TextView sentences that are of the same color as my View's background in order to make psuedo-empty space. Is there a better way to do this, because right now when I define a specific ViewGroup to be placed below another View, it gets stuck right below the top View. As I was writing this, it dawned upon me that using padding might be the answer.... Any other suggestions?
