  Are there any quality products (ideally open source) that allow me to run an arbitrary SQL query that results in 2 columns (username, group name) and they adds that username in AD to a group of that name in AD? If the username doesn't exist it is ignored. If the group name doesn't exist ideally it gets created. Updated for Clarity: I have a MSSQL based system that is the authoritative source for some of the Active Directory Security groups, and their members. I want to be able to to have those Active Directory Security Groups populated by a one-way sync originating from MSSQL. Sadly the MSSQL based system does not have a good API, so I will have to do this with direct SQL calls. Is there anything that does this well?

  Hi, Lets say I am user: bob & group: users. There is this file: -rw----r-- 1 root users 4 May 8 22:34 testfile First question, why can't bob read the file as it's readable by others? Is it simply that if you are denied by group, then you are auto-blacklisted for others? I always assumed that the final 3 bits too precedence over user/group permission bits, guess I was wrong... Second question, how is this implemented? I suppose it's linked to the first query, but how does this work in relation to Access Control, is it related to how ACLs work / are queried? Just trying to understand how these 9 permission bits are actually implemented/used in Linux. Thanks alot.

How do I get the results of a ManyToMany field inside a join as opposed to doing this: {% for tag in article.tags.all %} Which results in an extra query?   I am querying Google Base using the .NET library pretty much as described on this page. http://code.google.com/apis/base/docs/2.0/developers_guide_dotnet.html When I run the query a GBaseFeed is returned and it will usually have the TotalRecords property set to something like 35, but in the Entries collection it will often have no items or very few items. Other times the query returns all 35 items as expected in the Entries. Has anyone seen this behaviour or have any idea what could cause it?

  When I add a relative path to an SQL query as a String all the \ get removed. I am trying to add the String ("pics\\"+onlyFile) and as you can see I have escaped the \ character so I don't understand why it is being removed. onlyFile is a variable containing a file name. The value of the "src" variable (the one I am discussing) just before the SQL statement is correct, hence it is something happening when it is added to the SQL query.
