    I've a hard time understanding signs I see in my text editor vim. I see signs like ^@ and ^A and ^M and ^F. What does this mean? Is there any structured list of these signs and their meaning? Trying to Google it is a dead end since Google will not search for "^@".

    When running the commandsvn ci you get a text editor that allows you to place a comment, below that is there is the text "--This line, and those below, will be ignored--", then the files modified, added, or deleted. If I were to delete a line such as: M folderA/fileA Would it remove that file from the check in, or is that just an SVN comment that has no other effect?

  • Eclipse's Visual Studio Ctrl+Tab and Ctrl+Shift+Tab Equivalent

    In Visual Studio, I always use Ctrl+Tab and Ctrl+Shift+Tab to navigate between documents. I see that Eclipse has Ctrl+F6 to navigate between editors, but this isn't nearly the same behavior. The difference being, pressing it once and then again will get you moving back and forth between two files, whereas in VS, it will cause you to navigate forward based on the tab order in the editor. Any ideas on how I can replicate VS's behavior?

How to 'catch' the field editor for this field on form editing.     I have an Excel worksheet where the user enters certain data, which I want to store in a text file and upload to a server using FTP. One site suggested adding a reference to "Microsoft Internet Transfer Control" and then define an "Inet" object to do the FTP. However, I am unable to find a reference with this name in "Tools - References" in the VB Editor. Does anyone know of a solution for this problem? Thanks in advance.

  • Can a python view template be made to be 'safe/secure' if I make it user editable?

    Say I need to have a templating system where a user can edit it online using an online editor. So they can put if tags, looping tags etc., but ONLY for specific objects that I want to inject into the template. Can this be made to be safe from security issues? i.e. them somehow outputing sql connection string information or scripting things outside of the allowable tags and injected objects.

  • How can I make Emacs start-up faster?

    I use Emacs v. 22 (the console version, either remotely with PuTTY or locally with Konsole) as my primary text editor on Linux. It takes a while to load up each time I start it though, probably almost a second, although I never timed it. I tend to open and close Emacs a lot, because I'm more comfortable using the Bash command-line for file/directory manipulation and compiling. How can I speed up the start-up time?

The problem is that var data = $( 'textarea.editor' ).val(); returns default content and also getData(). What I have to do to grab the actual content?     I need a model for finding all of the regular expressions that would match a particular string. Basically, I need an algorithm for doing what I do to generate a regex search string from some pattern. My purpose for this to create a list of potential regular expressions from a selection of text and order that list from least specific (i.e. string of characters with abitrary length) to most specific (i.e. the string itself) to be used in text editor.
