Force an LXC container to use its own IP address

Sorry if this question has already been asked. It's like having a NAT, whereas I really want my UBUNTU-LXC to talk with it own IP address. Is there any way to do this ? I have the following code in my registration page to go to a paypal button. But when I click on the button it just refreshes the page. Is their something I am missing? FFMPEG Segfault Solutions

I'm trying to convert a bunch of movies into h.264 mp4's using FFMPEG. These movies are sourced from various portable camcorders such as the Flip Mino HD and the Kodak ZI8. One issue I'm having with video from the ZI8 is it seems to be causing FFMPEG to segfault. send command to an already running screen session

Hi I have been trying to send commands to a running gnu screen session (4.00.03) in opensolaris, but cannot get it to run any commands through any combination of screen -X Ok, I start a screen session with screen -S test, and then tried to with screen -r -X "date"to just show me the date, when I would reconnect to it. But neither an error message nor output in the screen happened. I tried with so many combinations, that I can't even remember. Any hints on how to accomplish it? The reason why I am doing this is, because I have a program, which does not come as a daemon, and I wish to start it in a screen session, so I can later on see what is going on.

TIME column in TOP command for mysql

When I run top on my database server I get that mysqld has been running for 4:00.51 and it continues to go up. I assume this means that one process with mysql has been running this long from other posts on here. Its not set to cumulative mode as best I can tell as the heading looks like it would change to CTIME if that be the case. What I'm wondering is if this is normal for a site that makes a lot of individual connections using PHP. I shouldn't have any long running processes that would hold on to a mysql connection for this long, only seconds at most. Am I incorrect to assume that this time relates to one connection/process running? I think usually I see it flash up and away on the TOP, not just stay there with this number increasing.

I have a Windows Server 2008 machine running in VirtualBox. On initial installation, only one processor was made available, but now I want to run it as a multiprocessor machine. I have made all four cores available in the VirtualBox settings (as well as enabling VT-x/AMD-V and Nested Paging), but Task Manager still only shows one CPU. However, the four CPU cores are visible in Device Manager under Processors. How can I make my monitor run at it's native resolution under Kubuntu 9.10?

How can I access the external microphone with Ubuntu?

Sound in Ubuntu, it has its own special joy. I would like my external microphone to work. Symptoms: I can play sound through the speakers I can play sound through the headsets. Plugging and and plugging headphone output correctly switches. I can record from the built-in microphone, using "Sound Recorder" and others. but: I cannot record from the external microphone. My Sound Preferences/Input panel has no option for an external microphone. If the answer is upgrade the ALSA drivers, please say exactly what to type. CentOS: eth0 not starting on boot

Whenever I reboot a CentOS Hyper-V VM, eth0 does not start automatically. All I need to do is perform ifup eth0 and all is fixed, but that isn't feasible from ssh! I am starting in runlevel 3. Working bootable CD now suddenly freezes at starting point

I have this strange problem with a bootable CD I created that uses floppy disk 1.44MB emulation. The PC originally worked with it just fine and booted from the CD several times from the prior occasions I used it. Now for some strange reason it decides to freeze at the point where it displays the following text on the screen and does not proceed further: Boot from ATAPI CD-ROM 1. FD 1.44MB System Type-(00) The other strange thing is that if I put in a Linux bootable installation CD, it boots that without any issues. Everytime I stick this custom made bootable CD in it pulls this freezing act. Has anyone experienced this or know how to correct the problem?

I ran the following command, lspci, in order to get info on the wireless card installed. 00:0a.0 Ethernet controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88w8335 [Libertas] 802.11b/g Wireless (rev 03) Does anyone know where I can get drivers for this card/chip? And also, how to install (I'm rather new to linux). Also, I'm sure the card is working because I just formatted over xp, and everything was working well. Thanks in advanced!

I am not seeing named session in gnu screen

I am tying to learn gnu screen. I am using mac(snow leopard). I am running 4.00.03 version of screen. I am starting a new screen with following command screen -S foo However after that if I do ctrl + A + " then I see the list of screens. However all the lists have numbers and then bash. Because all it says is 'bash' I can't figure out which screen has what. Am I missing something?

ffmpeg add two audio streams to video

I tried this: ffmpeg -i /sdcard/video/transcode/video.avi -map 0:0,0 -i /sdcard/video/transcode/first.mp3 -map 1:0,1 -i /sdcard/video/transcode/second.mp3 -map 2:0,2 -acodec copy -vcodec py /sdcard/video/transcode/Output.avi to add two audio streams to one video file. But ffmpeg says the number of mappings should match the number of output streams. What is wrong here? I'm trying to work with an Android build of FFmepg "ffmpeg for android beta". "Does not work" means that this uncommunicative Android build of FFmpeg just stops without giving any error message. The -codec copy option does not work with this build. Now I tried the same set of files with the FFmpeg called command line tool that comes with Ubuntu 10. Something (can't say where it is from). The -codec copy option does not work with this FFmpeg too. By the way, ffmpeg -i input_with_first_audio_stream.avi -i second.mp3 -acodec copy -vcodec copy output_two_audio_streams.avi -newaudio works with both versions of ffmpeg that I use, but the first audio stream is played too fast (x10 or more), while the second audio stream is played correct. Many thanks in advance and sorry for my unconventional question and outdated versions of ffmpeg. But I am a lamer and it is not so easy for me to compile from the source (especially for the Android version). I will try to compile an up to date version of ffmpeg with Ubuntu, but I don't have much free time.

Difference between SQL 2005 and SQL 2008 for inserting multiple rows with XML

I am using the following SQL code for inserting multiple rows of data in a table. The data is passed to the stored procedure using an XML variable : INSERT INTO MyTable SELECT SampleTime = T.Item.value('SampleTime[1]', 'datetime'), Volume1 = T.Item.value('Volume1[1]', 'float'), Volume2 = T.Item.value('Volume2[1]', 'float') FROM @xml.nodes('//Root/MyRecord') T(item) I have a whole bunch of unit tests to verify that I am inserting the right information, the right number of records, etc.. when I call the stored procedure. All fine and dandy - that is, until we began to monkey around with the compatibility level of the database. The code above worked beautifully as long as we kept the compatibility level of the DB at 90 (SQL 2005). When we set the compatibility level at 100 (SQL 2008), the unit tests failed, because the stored procedure using the code above times out. The unit tests are dropping the database, re-creating it from scripts, and running the tests on the brand new DB, so it's not - I think - a question of the 'old compatibility level' sticking around. Using the SQL Management studio, I made up a quick test SQL script. Using the same XML chunk, I alter the DB compat level , truncate the table, then use the code above to insert 650 rows. When the level is 90 (SQL 2005), it runs in milliseconds. When the level is 100 (SQL 2008) it sometimes takes over a minute, sometimes runs in milliseconds. I'd appreciate any insight anyone might have into that. EDIT The script takes over a minute to run with my actual data, which has more rows than I show here, is a real table, and has an index. When I change from 90 to 100, it runs all the time in 5 seconds (I change the level once, but I run the series several times to see if I have consistent results). When I change from 100 to 90, it runs in milliseconds all the time. Just so you can play with it too. I am using SQL Server 2008 R2 standard edition.

I have a Windows Server 2008 machine running in VirtualBox. On initial installation, only one processor was made available, but now I want to run it as a multiprocessor machine. I have made all four cores available in the VirtualBox settings (as well as enabling VT-x/AMD-V and Nested Paging), but Task Manager still only shows one CPU. However, the four CPU cores are visible in Device Manager under Processors. Wireless card not found on Ubuntu

Hello all, I'm trying to setup Ubuntu on an old PC. I ran the following command, lspci, in order to get info on the wireless card installed. 00:0a.0 Ethernet controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88w8335 [Libertas] 802.11b/g Wireless (rev 03) Does anyone know where I can get drivers for this card/chip? And also, how to install (I'm rather new to linux). Also, I'm sure the card is working because I just formatted over xp, and everything was working well. Thanks in advanced!

b43 module loaded, but no interface showed up

I'm using CentOS 6.3 x86_64 on a hardware with a BCM43224 chip for wi-fi. I installed the b43-fwcutter module and then run modprobe b43, with no error messages. Notice : if there any other commands i should execute in servers for more information, so it might help resolve the problem , let me know in comments

Hi friends, I have a windows 2000 advanced server 5.00.2195 service pack 4 installed in my lan network. I'm using this as my server in my network. I was using Norton antivirus 2001 in it as the antivirus. but its not updating now. And now i'm trying to use any other antivirus in it. But i cant install any in it. Nothing is suiting with 2000 server. can any one say which i can use in it. I have tried avg, nod32. But nothing worked. Please help me

I have 6 scripts that each take about 20 minutes to run, I want to schedule cron to run the first 3 at 00, 20, and 40 on the odd hours and the second 3 at the same intervals on the even hours.
