    I am trying to log a simple string to a log file. I only need Category, message and timestamp.   • Neural Network Output Grouping 0.5?

    I tried to write a Neural Network system, but even running through simple AND/OR/NOR type problems, the outputs seem to group around 0.5 (for a bias of -1) and 0.7 (for a bias of 1). It doesn't look exactly "wrong"... The 1,1 in the AND pattern does seem higher than the rest and the 0,0 in the OR looks lower, but they are still all grouped so it's debatable. I was wondering a) if there's some obvious mistake I've made or b) if there's any advice for debugging Neural Nets... seeing as you can't always track back exactly where an answer came from...   • perl: tk: a way/widget that allows pixel level control over the output

    I want something like a canvas, but where i'd be able to manipulate pixels easily in addition to all the provided geometries, that can be drawn on canvas. Is it possible to embed something like GD::Image into a canvas? So then I maybe could make the image transparent and set some pixels in it (GD::Image-setPixel()) positioning it over the canvas? ps: well, that doesn't necessarily have to be perl, as there seem to be bindings for all the libs for most scripting (and not only) languages.

    I use echo in Upstart scripts to log things: script echo "main: some data" >> log end script post-start script echo "post-start: another data" >> log end script Now these two run in parallel, so in the logs I often see: main: post-start: some data another data This is not critical, so I won't employ proper synching, but thought I'd turn auto flush ON to at least reduce this effect. Is there an easy way to do that? Update: yes, flushing will not properly fix it, but I've seen it help such situations to some degree, and this is all I need in this case. It's just that I don't know how to do it in Shell

  • Customizing doxygen output for the HTML Table of Contents

    I'm using doxygen to generate an API reference from source code, aiming to convert it into a CHM help file and eventually into a plugin for Eclipse. Unfortunately the default ordering and nesting of the classes, namespaces, etc. in the Table of Contents is not exactly ideal and I'd prefer to customize it if possible. By default, doxygen creates two indexes/menus for navigating the generated documentation. One is the common Table of Contents on the left frame and the other is the row of buttons at the top of each individual HTML page. The latter can be comfortably customized by editing the layout xml file as described in doxygen manual (see section 'Changing the layout of pages') but so far I've seen no way to do similar modifications for the Table of Contents. To use a precise example, I'm looking for a way to nest the three standard topics Class List, Class Hierarchy, and Class Members as subtopics inside a parent topic in the TOC, as is done by default in the menu system that's located on top of every page. I'd imagine this is not the most unusual issue and may have a known solution available. Thanks for your assistance!

  • DIV overlap on top of submit order INPUT button not working right in IE7

    I created a test account at www.avaline.com: username: [email protected] pass:test02 I'll keep the account around so you can see what's going on with this submit button without going through the registration process (and needing to fill in a fake address, etc). If logging in doesn't work, you can create your own test account though. Make sure at least one item is in your shopping cart, hit "proceed to checkout", and check off "PayPal" as your payment method (this way the payment won't go through for testing purposes). Once you're on the "review and submit" page, in IE7 (at least), hover over the "pay with Paypal" button, and you'll see that the cursor is a hand when you hover over the text or the button border, but it's a regular arrow when you hover over the button part. If you try clicking on the arrow-cursor area, you'll get the error that you should see...but if you click on the hand-cursor area, you get redirected to the paypal page. In FF, the #hidSubm DIV covers the "Pay with Paypal" button. Why isn't it working in IE7?

    Hi: I'm trying to open cmd.exe on a new process and pass some code to programatically eject a device; but when trying to do this all I get is: "Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #3218: Error while writing data to NativeProcess.standardInput."     The first thing that comes to my mind is to do a bunch of \t's, but that would cause words to be misaligned if any word is longer than any other word by a few characters. For example, I would like to have something like: Name Last Name Middle initial Bob Jones M Joe ReallyLongLastName T Instead, by including only "\t"'s in my cout statement I can only manage to get Name Last Name Middle initial Bob Jones M Joe ReallyLongLastName T or Name Last Name Middle initial Bob Jones M Joe ReallyLongLastName T What else would I need to do?

    Hello there, I am trying to develop a GWT app with the MVP pattern. So far so good except for one specific case of actions: actions that do not change the url (no browser history change). In the GWT MVP pattern, events are sent from presenters, the an app controller catches them and update the browser history. If the history has changed then the view updates. ** MVP with history change (Works well)** Current URL is /list User clicks on contactdelete button. Fire DeleteContactAction event. App controller catches, change history to 'delete' onValueChange is called if (token.equals("delete")) delete contact screen, then delete contact Fire ContactDeletedEvent app controller catches and change the history to list onValueChange is called: contact list refreshes GWT MVP pattern for dialog box w/o history changes ** Issue ** - I use a dialog box and I don't want to change the browser history, so here is the problem: Current URL is /list User clicks on contactdelete button. Contact is deleted Fire ContactDeletedEvent. App controller catches, change history to 'list' **onValueChange is NOT called** because url is already /list and there is no change # problem: contact list does not refresh Question: does anyone know a pattern to implement this in the context of MVP? Any help / idea appreciated.

    I've just started learning PowerShell this morning, and I'm grappling with the basics. Here's the problem: I want to query subversion for the revision number of a repository, and then create a new directory with this revision number. The command svn_info outputs a number of label\value pairs, delimited by colons.   • Ruby rail debug output

    Hi all: I am just starting to write ruby rails. I wrote a controller but is getting wrong number of "arguments (1 for 0)" error, I can't understand why. It has no information on where the error occurred? It has a full list of stack traces but my controller file is not in there! In my controller I have just two methods, that I was going to test out activemq. But after I put the controller out, I got the above error, so I commented out all the code, but I still get the same error. I can't figure out why. I searched google for ruby debug, I have not found anything helpful.     I'm attempting to upload a file into a jsp and then use the file in some other code. My problem is that it comes into the servlet as an Object via the request.getAttribute() call so I don't know what to cast it to. I have this code so far to try and test what it is but I'm getting a NullPointerException. PrintWriter out = response.getWriter(); out.println(request.getAttribute("file1").getClass()); Is my understanding of whats going on flawed or am I just coding it up wrong?

  • Touchscreen using sound input?

    Hi, i don't really know if it is actually possible, but i believe that it can be made. How possible is it to make a program that recognizes different sound bouncing from the screen and turn it into a position that will obviously be later fed to the mouse. I know that it sounds kind of dumb, but lately i've been noticing that a very dull, strong sound is made when touching the screen, and that sound varies when doing so at different positions. Probably the microphone "hears" differently because the screen acts as a drum with the casing. Anyways, what do you think, anyone has any experience programming with sound?

The javascript looks something like this: var latLongJSON = { "address": [ {"lat" : 50, "long" : 50} ] }; var returnedAddresses; $.ajax({ type: "GET", data: latLongJSON, url: "map/getaddresses", success: function(data) { returnedAddresses = JSON.parse(data); } }); Then in my 'getaddresses' method, my parameter coming through looks like: Parameters: {"address"=>"[object Object]"} I'm not sure what to do with this. I'm fairly new to Ruby, and I'm not sure if I need to convert this to something else, or what. Ideally I want to be able to pass in multiple sets of lat/long in the 'address' array, then be able to iterate over those in my Ruby code.

  • Double.TryParse() input decimal separator different than system decimal separator

    I have a source XML that uses a dot (".") as a decimal separator and I am parsing this on a system that uses a comma (",") as a decimal separator. As a result, value of 0.7 gets parsed with Double.TryParse or Double.Parse as 7000000. What are my options to parse correctly? One of them is to replace dots in source with commas with String.Replace('.', ',') but I don't think I like this very much.
