Looking for a reporting tool that will allow vector graphics in output file (PDF)

I have been tasked with evaluating our current system that we use for creating and outputing reports. Currently we are using Crystal Reports ver 8, (I know that this is and old version.), which has a custom commandline app that we wrote in C# to execute the report for a given parameter passed through the command line. We like Crystal becuase it's easy to setup and design the report. It's also easy to print and create a PDF file from crystal using our custom commandline program. One of the problems/complaints that we have is that Crystal does does not appear to have a method that will allow us to create a PDF file with a vector images, such as our company logo. Crystal Reports always converts an image into a bitmap. When the PDF is printed, the results are less than flattering, and the PDF file size is increased. Does anyone have any recomendadtions for a reporting product that we should consider?

InfoPath Repeating Group with Data from SharePoint and User Input

I have a series of questions which are pulled from a SharePoint list and loaded into a repeating section. The section has three elements, the Question # (from SharePoint), and Question itself (from SharePoint), and a drop down box Yes/No (NOT from SharePoint)... The repeating group portion works just fine, it is pulling all Question # and Questions from the SharePoint site, but I cannot bind the drop down box (yes/no) to any sort of local data source in order to record the information. Essentially what I have is a dynamically generated form which pulls questions off a SharePoint and a user will answer Yes or No for each question. I cannot associate the Yes/No drop down with anything because it resides within a Repeating section... Thanks for any help!

To facilitate part of this, I need to provide a JSONP endpoint. Use string as input to re.compile

Any tips on how I can avoid this?

WPF Textbox "normal" text input

G'day, I'm not sure if this is a problem relevant to only me or if anyone else has this issue also. None the less, I'll try and describe what is going on here. I have a few textbox's, default style, etc. I set an explicit maxwidth and maxheight to prevent resize when the text exceeds the default width of the textbox. The issue is that the text wraps to the next line, but I only want single line. So I set maxlines to 1 and textwrapping to NoWrap. That's fine. Now the carat and typed text disappears under the edges of the textbox when the width is exceeded and the only way I can get the carat and newly typed text back into view is by pressing the left and right arrows. Coming from MFC and using textboxes all the time with HTML, I would have thought the default behaviour would be to have the textbox content scroll with the carat or am I missing something here? Readline, the Input Record Separator and Ruby

In Ruby I'm looking to read data until I reach a delimiter or end of file. I found this is possible by redefining $/ or the $INPUT_RECORD_SEPARATOR to my delimiter. However with all the "features" in the Ruby language it seems hokey to change the value of a global to do this. Also, readline used to consume the delimiter while not it is included in what is returned. Is there any other way to "read until" while consuming the delimiter that doesn't involve getting the values char by char in a loop?

I'm trying to write a Perl script that will work better with KDE's kwrited, which, as far as I can tell, is connected to a pts and puts every line it receives through the KDE system tray notifications, with the title "KDE write daemon". Unfortunately, it makes a separate notification for each and every line, so it spams up the system tray with multiline messages on regular old write, and for some reason it cuts off the entire last line of the message when using wall (One-line messages are also goners.). I was also hoping to make it so that it could broadcast across a LAN with thick clients. Before starting on that (which would require ssh, of course), I tried to make an ssh-less version to make sure it works. Convert string to decimal retaining the exact input format

Hi All, I'm sure this is a piece of cake but I'm really struggling with something that seems trivial. I need to check the inputted text of a textbox on the form submit and check to see if it's within a desired range (I've tried a Range Validator but it doesn't work for some reason so I'm trying to do this server-side). What I want to do is: Get the value inputted (eg. 0.02), replace the commas and periods, convert that to a decimal (or double or equivalent) and check to see if it's between 0.10 and 35000.00. Here's what I have so far: string s = txtTransactionValue.Text.Replace(",", string.Empty).Replace(".", string.Empty); decimal transactionValue = Decimal.Parse(s); if (transactionValue >= 0.10M && transactionValue <= 35000.00M) // do something If I pass 0.02 into the above, transactionValue is 2. I am working in the .NET 3.5 framework. I have a project that builds fine locally. I can build it on our build server when the source files are posted there. However when I am running the build process through Visual Studio 2010 I get a warning that says "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v3.5\Microsoft.Common.targets: The OutputPath property is not set for this project. Please check to make sure that you have specified a valid Configuration/Platform combination. Turning off hibernate logging console output

Raw XML Push from input stream captures only the first line of XML

I'm trying to read XML that is being pushed to my java app. I originally had this in my glassfish server working. I want the ability to save the current context to a .pdf file on the local HD. I am able to print using WebBrowser.Print(), which shows the current context, but what ways are possible to get this saved as a PDF file locally?

Java Sound API: Capturing sound output from a Target Port

I'm writing a simple piece of software that streams audio over LAN. I have all of the network parts implemented, but what I'm stumbling on is using the Java Sound API. I have successfully captured audio from the microphone, and line-in, but I can't seem to capture from any target ports, like the speakers. My question is, is it possible to capture from the Master target port? uzing libgz to inflate a gz input

Hi all, I'm currently trying to use the zlib to inflate a source of gzipped data. It seems that the inflate API in zlib cannot inflate a gzipped data ( The example http://www.zlib.net/zpipe.c fails to read a gzipped file: "zpipe: invalid or incomplete deflate data" ). I noticed that there is a gzopen function in this API, but , as far as I understand, it only works with a filename or a file descriptor. Can I use this API if my source of gzipped data is stored in memory, in a sql blob, etc... ? Many Thanks Pierre

JSP/Servlet CRUD form with special input field based on join table relationship

There's database with a bunch of tables that are joined with join tables. E.g. Members and Division are joined with MembersDivisions table. JSP/Servlet login functionality has been developed, but now the CRUD functionality needs to be implemented and I was unable to find any tutorials about it, especially involving the join table(when creating new division you can add members to it, or add more to the existing one). Maybe someone could, theoretically, explain how to do the Division part of the CRUD web form?

[Web] Eventlistener for form input on iphone?

I'm playing around with jQTouch to create a web app on the iPhone. I'm using the scrolling extension to create the effect of a fixed toolbar on the top of the page while still able to scroll the rest of the page via a scrollable div. Everything works fine except for when a user pulls up the keyboard in order to fill in form elements in the scrollable div. The whole body is pushed to top and the ugly url bar is shown. Is there a way to prevent this?
