• How to get round corner textbox using jquery without images

  I try to get round corners for textbox. But how can i get it. Here is the class .tbox { float:left; width:200px; margin-top:10px; margin-left:10px; } when i call using jquery using $('.tbox').corners("4px"); it is not working. • UIScrollView won't autorotate

  My app design requires the same scrolling functionality found in the iPhone's native Photos app when browsing photos in full screen. Specifically: Each view snaps into place as the view is swiped Scrolling happens in only one direction Rotating the iPhone rotates the entire scrolling region as well such that the frame of each subview (photos, in Apple's case) rotates in-place and paging is still in the same direction (left-to-right) I started to use Apple's sample PageControl code as a launching point, and everything was going swimmingly until I attempted adding autorotation to the code. My sense from the docs was that all I had to do to get autorotation working was to add this to the sample code's MyViewController.m - (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation { return YES; } While that does seem to cause the subviews' backgrounds to rotate, the UILabels and the enclosing UIScrollView stay fixed so that, from a user perspective, paging through the views now requires up/down flicking instead of left/right.

• Lambda Expression to be used in Select() query

  Hi, I am trying to build a lambda expression, containing two assignments (as shown further down), that I can then pass to a Queryable.Select() method. I am trying to pass a string variable into a method and then use that variable to build up the lambda expression so that I can use it in a LINQ Select query. My reasoning behind it is that I have a SQL Server datasource with many column names, I am creating a charting application that will allow the user to select, say by typing in the column name, the actual column of data they want to view in the y-axis of my chart, with the x-axis always being the DateTime. Therefore, they can essentially choose what data they chart against the DateTime value (it’s a data warehouse type app). I have, for example, a class to store the retrieved data in, and hence use as the chart source of: public class AnalysisChartSource { public DateTime Invoicedate { get; set; } public Decimal yValue { get; set; } } I have (purely experimentaly) built an expression tree for the Where clause using the String value and that works fine: public void GetData(String yAxis) { using (DataClasses1DataContext db = new DataClasses1DataContext()) { var data = this.FunctionOne().AsQueryable<AnalysisChartSource>(); //just to get some temp data in.... • Paging Through Records(json data) Using jQuery...

  I have a JSON result that contains numerous records. I'd like to show the first five records in one page and create pager links which have to move to that page with five record so on. I don't want the page to refresh which is why I'm hoping a combination of JavaScript and jQuery... • How does mysql define DISTINCT() in reference documentation

  EDIT: This question is about finding definitive reference to MySQL syntax on SELECT modifying keywords and functions. /EDIT AFAIK SQL defines two uses of DISTINCT keywords - SELECT DISTINCT field... and SELECT COUNT(DISTINCT field) ... However in one of web applications that I administer I've noticed performance issues on queries like SELECT DISTINCT(field1), field2, field3 ... DISTINCT() on a single column makes no sense and I am almost sure it is interpreted as SELECT DISTINCT field1, field2, field3 ... but how can I prove this? I've searched mysql site for a reference on this particular syntax, but could not find any. Does anyone have a link to definition of DISTINCT() in mysql or knows about other authoritative source on this? Best EDIT After asking the same question on mysql forums I learned that while parsing the SQL mysql does not care about whitespace between functions and column names (but I am still missing a reference). As it seems you can have whitespace between functions and the parenthesis SELECT LEFT (field1,1), field2... and get mysql to understand it as SELECT LEFT(field,1) Similarly SELECT DISTINCT(field1), field2... seems to get decomposed to SELECT DISTINCT (field1), field2... and then DISTINCT is taken not as some undefined (or undocumented) function, but as SELECT modifying keyword and the parenthesis around field1 are evaluated as if they were part of field expression. It would be great if someone would have a pointer to documentation where it is stated that the whitespace between functions and parenthesis is not significant or to provide links to apropriate MySQL forums, mailing lists where I could raise a question to put this into reference. EDIT I have found a reference to server option IGNORE SPACE. It states that "The IGNORE SPACE SQL mode can be used to modify how the parser treats function names that are whitespace-sensitive", later on it states that recent versions of mysql have reduced this number from 200 to 30. One of the remaining 30 is COUNT for example. With IGNORE SPACE enabled both SELECT COUNT(*) FROM mytable; SELECT COUNT (*) FROM mytable; are legal. So if this is an exception, I am left to conclude that normally functions ignore space by default. If functions ignore space by default then if the context is ambiguous, such as for the first function on a first item of the select expression, then they are not distinguishable from keywords and the error can not be thrown and MySQL must accept them as keywords. Still, my conclusions feel like they have lot of assumptions, I would still be grateful and accept any pointers to see where to follow up on this.

  Hi All, I'm trying to find some javascript code that I can embed on my website that will allow me to scroll content from left to right or right to left. This script here: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex11/scrollc2.htm Has the basic functionality that I am looking for, but it scrolls content from top to bottom. I want to be able to scroll my content sideways and have it scroll when I hover over some arrows just like the above mentioned script does. Does anyone know of anything that will work for me? Or perhaps it would be simple to modify the above mentioned script to scroll side to side. Thanks.

  Hi, i've a problem with a resize effect that i've done in http://www.mcz-scenario.it. When you click on a language, you can see the "background" image transferring into a certain position of the screen. this is the image: <img id="lago" src="http://www.mcz-scenario.it/images/lago.jpg" height="1070" width="1600" alt="lago" /> And this is the "resize" effect $("#lago").animate({ height: 148, width: 264, top: endPosition2.top+42, left: endPosition2.left+350+26}, 4000); Now... I see some flickering running this animation in Firefox. How can i handle this? Is it normal because the image is too large? Help me please :( THX

• jQuery show/hide menu problem

  Hi folks, I am encountering an odd behavior using jQuery to show/hide a menu. I have an absolutely positioned div which contains an "activator " div (relatively positioned) which I want to reveal a menu on moseover. Menu div is contained by the activator div and is also relatively positioned. I was working on assumption that since it would be contained by the activator that rolloff would not be triggered when the mouse travels over into the reveled menu. When you roll onto the revealed menu however show/hide starts pulsing and does so a second or so even after the mouse clears the area. • Inline editing of ManyToMany relation in Django

  After working through the Django tutorial I'm now trying to build a very simple invoicing application. I want to add several Products to an Invoice, and to specify the quantity of each product in the Invoice form in the Django admin. Now I've to create a new Product object if I've got different quantites of the same Product. Right now my models look like this (Company and Customer models left out): class Product(models.Model): description = models.TextField() quantity = models.IntegerField() price = models.DecimalField(max_digits=10,decimal_places=2) tax = models.ForeignKey(Tax) class Invoice(models.Model): company = models.ForeignKey(Company) customer = models.ForeignKey(Customer) products = models.ManyToManyField(Product) invoice_no = models.IntegerField() invoice_date = models.DateField(auto_now=True) due_date = models.DateField(default=datetime.date.today() + datetime.timedelta(days=14)) I guess the quantity should be left out of the Product model, but how can I make a field for it in the Invoice model?

• Sharing Bandwidth and Prioritizing Realtime Traffic via HTB, Which Scenario Works Better?

  I would like to add some kind of traffic management to our Internet line. After reading a lot of documentation, I think HFSC is too complicated for me (I don't understand all the curves stuff, I'm afraid I will never get it right), CBQ is not recommend, and basically HTB is the way to go for most people. Our internal network has three "segments" and I'd like to share bandwidth more or less equally between those (at least in the beginning). Further I must prioritize traffic according to at least three kinds of traffic (realtime traffic, standard traffic, and bulk traffic). The bandwidth sharing is not as important as the fact that realtime traffic should always be treated as premium traffic whenever possible, but of course no other traffic class may starve either. The question is, what makes more sense and also guarantees better realtime throughput: Creating one class per segment, each having the same rate (priority doesn't matter for classes that are no leaves according to HTB developer) and each of these classes has three sub-classes (leaves) for the 3 priority levels (with different priorities and different rates). Having one class per priority level on top, each having a different rate (again priority won't matter) and each having 3 sub-classes, one per segment, whereas all 3 in the realtime class have highest prio, lowest prio in the bulk class, and so on. I'll try to make this more clear with the following ASCII art image: Case 1: root --+--> Segment A | +--> High Prio | +--> Normal Prio | +--> Low Prio | +--> Segment B | +--> High Prio | +--> Normal Prio | +--> Low Prio | +--> Segment C +--> High Prio +--> Normal Prio +--> Low Prio Case 2: root --+--> High Prio | +--> Segment A | +--> Segment B | +--> Segment C | +--> Normal Prio | +--> Segment A | +--> Segment B | +--> Segment C | +--> Low Prio +--> Segment A +--> Segment B +--> Segment C Case 1 Seems like the way most people would do it, but unless I don't read the HTB implementation details correctly, Case 2 may offer better prioritizing. The HTB manual says, that if a class has hit its rate, it may borrow from its parent and when borrowing, classes with higher priority always get bandwidth offered first. However, it also says that classes having bandwidth available on a lower tree-level are always preferred to those on a higher tree level, regardless of priority. Let's assume the following situation: Segment C is not sending any traffic. Segment A is only sending realtime traffic, as fast as it can (enough to saturate the link alone) and Segment B is only sending bulk traffic, as fast as it can (again, enough to saturate the full link alone). What will happen? Case 1: Segment A-High Prio and Segment B-Low Prio both have packets to send, since A-High Prio has the higher priority, it will always be scheduled first, till it hits its rate. Now it tries to borrow from Segment A, but since Segment A is on a higher level and Segment B-Low Prio has not yet hit its rate, this class is now served first, till it also hits the rate and wants to borrow from Segment B. Once both have hit their rates, both are on the same level again and now Segment A-High Prio is going to win again, until it hits the rate of Segment A. Now it tries to borrow from root (which has plenty of traffic spare, as Segment C is not using any of its guaranteed traffic), but again, it has to wait for Segment B-Low Prio to also reach the root level. Once that happens, priority is taken into account again and this time Segment A-High Prio will get all the bandwidth left over from Segment C. Case 2: High Prio-Segment A and Low Prio-Segment B both have packets to send, again High Prio-Segment A is going to win as it has the higher priority. Once it hits its rate, it tries to borrow from High Prio, which has bandwidth spare, but being on a higher level, it has to wait for Low Prio-Segment B again to also hit its rate. Once both have hit their rate and both have to borrow, High Prio-Segment A will win again until it hits the rate of the High Prio class. Once that happens, it tries to borrow from root, which has again plenty of bandwidth left (all bandwidth of Normal Prio is unused at the moment), but it has to wait again until Low Prio-Segment B hits the rate limit of the Low Prio class and also tries to borrow from root. Finally both classes try to borrow from root, priority is taken into account, and High Prio-Segment A gets all bandwidth root has left over. Both cases seem sub-optimal, as either way realtime traffic sometimes has to wait for bulk traffic, even though there is plenty of bandwidth left it could borrow. However, in case 2 it seems like the realtime traffic has to wait less than in case 1, since it only has to wait till the bulk traffic rate is hit, which is most likely less than the rate of a whole segment (and in case 1 that is the rate it has to wait for). Or am I totally wrong here? I thought about even simpler setups, using a priority qdisc. But priority queues have the big problem that they cause starvation if they are not somehow limited. Starvation is not acceptable. Of course one can put a TBF (Token Bucket Filter) into each priority class to limit the rate and thus avoid starvation, but when doing so, a single priority class cannot saturate the link on its own any longer, even if all other priority classes are empty, the TBF will prevent that from happening. And this is also sub-optimal, since why wouldn't a class get 100% of the line's bandwidth if no other class needs any of it at the moment? Any comments or ideas regarding this setup? It seems so hard to do using standard tc qdiscs. As a programmer it was such an easy task if I could simply write my own scheduler (which I'm not allowed to do).

I have a html table with a column of text boxes (mileage), all of them are disabled when the page loads, and I need that when user clicks on a check box, the text box for that column should be enabled and become a required field, and then if the user unchecks the checkbox, the textbox on that row must be disabled and the required class removed. I already have the function to enable and disable the text boxes (column mileage) when the user clicks on the corresponding checkbox, but it is written in javascript.However, for some reason it only works in IE). The ggplot2 book says on p 112 "The position and justification of legends are controlled by the theme setting legend.position, and the value can be right, left, top, bottom, none (no legend), or a numeric position". How do I stop that? While also, making sure that it shows in the top left corner of each of the boxes on all browser sizes? So position:absolute will keep it in one place regardless of what happens around it. But it won't put it in the exact same position (relatively) on diff browser sizes. But position:relative will. How do I get the best of both worlds?

• Galleria jQuery plugin briefly shows all images in IE 7 & 8

  I'm using the galleria jQuery plugin on a site. When the gallery first loads, all of the images appear briefly & vertically in ie 7 & 8. This doesn't happen when i isolate the gallery, only when i put it on a somewhat heavy page. This leads me to believe that it happens when the page is a little slow to load. Does anybody know a way to fix this? I feel like an overflow: hidden should fix this, but I've applied it along with a height in every container I could think of. Anybody have any ideas?
