  • ObjectiveFlickr - how to call getSizes on a photo ID not known until the response?

    - by Jonathan Cohen
    Hi guys, I'm building a free music instrument iPhone app with the Flickr API and ObjectiveFlickr.A random photo from the interestingness list is displayed in the background, but I can't center it without knowing its size. (so I can reset the UIWebView frame) I've been researching this for awhile, and if the answer is super easy, please have some mercy on a noob - it's my first time playing with a web service API. =) Since I don't know the photo ID until after I receive the response from the interestingness feed, how would I call flickr.photo.getSizes on the response? This is what I have so far: - (void)flickrAPIRequest:(OFFlickrAPIRequest *)inRequest didCompleteWithResponse:(NSDictionary *)inResponseDictionary{ int randomResponse = arc4random() % 49; photoDict = [[inResponseDictionary valueForKeyPath:@"photos.photo"] objectAtIndex:randomResponse]; NSString *photoID = [photoDict valueForKeyPath:@"id"]; NSLog(@"%@",photoID); NSURL *photoURL = [flickrContext photoSourceURLFromDictionary:photoDict size:OFFlickrMediumSize]; NSString *htmlSource = [NSString stringWithFormat: @"<html>" @"<head>" @" <style>body { margin: 0; padding: 0; } </style>" @"</head>" @"<body>" @"<img src=\"%@\" />" @"</body>" @"</html>" , photoURL]; [webView loadHTMLString:htmlSource baseURL:nil]; }

  • WPF: How can I KEEP the same ItemTemplate instance once its created ??

    - by Samir Sabri
    Hello, Here is a cinario: I have a ListView, with ItemsSource = ProjectModel.Instance.PagesModelsCollection; where PagesModelsCollection is an ObservableCollection In the ListView XAML part: <ListView.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate x:Name="PagesViewDataTemplate"> <DataTemplate.Resources> <Style x:Key="PageHostStyle" TargetType="{x:Type p:KPage}"> </Style> </DataTemplate.Resources> <StackPanel x:Name="MarginStack" Margin="50,50,50,50" > <p:KPage x:Name="PageHost" > </p:KPage> </StackPanel> </DataTemplate> </ListView.ItemTemplate> The problem is the ITemTemplate is re-created each time we refresh the Items. So, if we have 100 Item in the list view, another 100 new ItemTemplate instance will be created if we refresh the items! As a result, if we add UIElements on one of the ItemTemplate intances, those added UIElements will be lost, because the old ITemTemplate is replaced with a new one! How can I KEEP the ItemTemplate instance once its created ??

  • Bind a generic list to a listbox and also use a datatemplate

    - by muku
    Hello, I'm trying to implement something quite simple but I'm on my first steps in WPF and I'm having some problems. I have a class called Component which has a property called Vertices. Vertices is a generic List of type Point. What I want is to bind the vertices property to a listbox. This is easy by using this code in my XAML in the listbox declaration: ItemsSource="{Binding Path=Component.Vertices, Mode=OneWay, Converter={StaticResource verticesconverter},UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged}" The tricky part is when I try to create a datatemplate for the listbox. I want each row of the listbox to display a textbox with the values of the Vertex (Point.X, Point.Y) and a button to allow me to delete the item. Could you help me on the datatemplate definition. The code below doesn't work to bind the X,Y values into two separate textboxes. Could you point me on the mistake and why nothing is displayed in the textboxes? <ListBox ItemsSource="{Binding Path=Component.Vertices, Mode=OneWay,UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged}"> <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal" Margin="0,10,0,0"> <TextBox Text="{Binding X}" MinWidth="35" MaxWidth="35"/> <TextBox Text="{Binding Y}" MinWidth="35" MaxWidth="35"/> </StackPanel> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> /ListBox>

  • Setting WPF control background image using styles?

    - by aviv
    Hi, I have a set of buttons inside a stack panel. I want them all to have a background image. How can i do it using styles? since i don't want to set manually the Background image for each button. Here is a code snippet: <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal" Height="100px" VerticalAlignment="Top"> <StackPanel.Resources> <Style TargetType="Button"> <Setter Property="Margin" Value="2,4" /> </Style> </StackPanel.Resources> <Button Width="127px" Height="79px" VerticalAlignment="Bottom"> <Button.Background> <ImageBrush ImageSource="images/Tab.png" /> </Button.Background> </Button> <Button>A</Button> <Button>R</Button> <Button>S</Button> </StackPanel> Thanks.

  • "Outward" border-radius in css?

    - by MaxMackie
    Currently, the links at the top of my website look like this: However, I am trying to "round" the bottom edges of the buttons to make it look like they are coming out of the page and into the ribbon at the top. I am aware that you can hack it and add a "separator" div with rounded corners between each entry, but this would be difficult to do seeing at the borders used are not all from the same div. Also, it wouldn't be easy seeing as my buttons are very close to each other. The css for the "button": .button { border-top: 3px solid #A1C1BE; border-left: 3px solid #A1C1BE; border-right: 3px solid #A1C1BE; border-bottom: 0px; padding: 5px 8px 5px 8px; margin: 0 0 -9px 0; border-radius: 5px 5px 0 0; font-size: 12px; font-family: 'PT Sans', sans-serif; background-color: #f8f8ff; color: #484848; } css for the "ribbon": #top-wrapper { border-bottom: 5px solid #A1C1BE; width: 100%; background-color: #59554E; padding: 10px 0 0 0; color: #C0C0A8; } As you can see, the thicker border belongs to the ribbon which stretches the length of the webpage, whereas the thinner blue border is part of the button.

  • Is it bad use "display: table;" to organise a layout into 2 columns?

    - by Colen
    Hello, I am trying to make a 2 column layout, apparently the bane of CSS. I know you shouldn't use tables for layout, but I've settled on this CSS. Note the use of display: table etc. div.container { width: 600px; height: 300px; margin: auto; display: table; table-layout: fixed; } ul { white-space: nowrap; overflow: hidden; display: table-cell; width: 40%; } div.inner { display: table-cell; width: auto; } With this layout: <div class="container"> <ul> <li>First</li> <li>Second</li> <li>Third</li> </ul> <div class="inner"> <p>Hello world</p> </div> </div> This seems to work admirably. However, I can't help wondering - am I obeying the letter of the "don't use tables" rule, but not the spirit? I think it's ok, since there's no positioning markup in the HTML code, but I'm just not sure about the "right" way to do it. I can't use css float, because I want the columns to expand and contract with the available space. Please, stack overflow, help me resolve my existential sense of dread at these pseudo-tables.

  • How to hide labels in html

    - by user225269
    I have this code which depends on this javascript from dynamic drive: http://dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex16/formdependency.htm Its a form dependency manager. Which will show or hide elements depending on what you choose from the forms that are revealed: I don't know why but If I alter the code from this: <td> <label>ID Number<input type="checkbox" name="id" class="DEPENDS ON info BEING student"></label> </td> </tr> To this: <td> <input type="hidden" class="DEPENDS ON info BEING student"> <label style="margin-bottom: 1em; padding-bottom: 1em; border-bottom: 3px silver groove;"></label> <tr> <td> <input type="checkbox" name="id" class="DEPENDS ON info BEING student"><label>ID Number</label> </td> </tr> Note: The only change that I did here is to transfer the label from the left side of the checkbox to the right side so that they will look better. But when I do this. The labels will be visible even if I did not yet click on the button that will make it visible(but without the checkboxes). And when I click on that button, that's the only time when the checkbox will appear on the left side of the labels. The checkbox is ok, but the label is not. And the javascript is working properly. What do I do so that the checkbox and label will go together?

  • HTML + CSS: fixed background image and body width/min-width (including fiddle)

    - by insertusernamehere
    So, here is my problem. I'm kinda stuck at the moment. I have a huge background image and content in the middle with those attributes: content is centered with margin auto and has a fixed width the content is related to the image (like the image is continued within the content) this relation is only horizontally (vertically scrolling moves everything around) This works actually fine (I'm only talking desktop, not mobile here :) ) with a position fixed on the huge background image. The problem that occurs is the following: When I resize the window to "smaller than the content" the background image gets it width from the body instead of the viewport. So the relation between content and image gets lost. Now I have this little JavaScript which does the trick, but this is of course some overhead I want to avoid: $(window).resize(function(){ img.css('left', (body.width() - img.width()) / 2 ); }); This works with a fixed positioned image, but can get a litty jumpy while calculating. I also tried things like that: <div id="test" style=" position: absolute; z-index: 0; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%: height: 100%; background: transparent url(content/dummy/brand_backgroud_1600_1.jpg) no-repeat fixed center top; "></div> But this gets me back to my problem described. Is there any "script-less", elegant solution for this problem? UPDATE: now with Fiddle The one I'm trying to solve: http://jsfiddle.net/insertusernamehere/wPmrm/ The one with Javascript that works: http://jsfiddle.net/insertusernamehere/j5E8z/ NOTE The image size is always fixed. The image never gets scaled by the browser. In the JavaScript example it get's blown. So don't care about the size.

  • How to change the direction of wpf marquee dynamically?

    - by ashish semwal
    Hi all, I want to change the direction of my marquee on changeDirection button click. My code for changing direction is : private void changeDirection_click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { if (_marqueeType == MarqueeType.RightToLeft) { _marqueeType = MarqueeType.LeftToRight; StartMarqueeing(_marqueeType); } else if (_marqueeType == MarqueeType.LeftToRight) { _marqueeType = MarqueeType.RightToLeft; StartMarqueeing(_marqueeType); } } And code for start marquee is : public void StartMarqueeing(MarqueeType marqueeType) { double height = canMain.ActualHeight - marqueeList.ActualHeight; marqueeList.Margin = new Thickness(0, 0, 0, 0); doubleAnimation.From = -marqueeList.ActualWidth; doubleAnimation.To = canMain.ActualWidth; doubleAnimation.RepeatBehavior = RepeatBehavior.Forever; doubleAnimation.Duration = new Duration(TimeSpan.FromSeconds(_marqueeTimeInSeconds)); if (marqueeType == MarqueeType.RightToLeft) { Storyboard.SetTargetProperty(doubleAnimation, new PropertyPath("(Canvas.Right)")); _storyBoard.Children.Add(doubleAnimation); _storyBoard.Begin(marqueeList, true); } else if (marqueeType == MarqueeType.LeftToRight) { Storyboard.SetTargetProperty(doubleAnimation, new PropertyPath("(Canvas.Left)")); _storyBoard.Children.Add(doubleAnimation); _storyBoard.Begin(marqueeList, true); } } Now here I am able to change the direction from Right to Left only first time. But when I am change it from Left to Right it’s not changing the marquee position Left to Right. Please help me on this...........its urgent!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Image appearing in the wrong place.

    - by Luke
    I have a list that I want to precede on each line with a small image. The CSS: .left div.arrow{background-image: url(../images/design/box.png); float:left; height:15px; width:15px; margin-right:2px;} .left a.list:link, a:visited, a:active {color:black; font-size:0.8em; text-decoration:none; display:block; float:left;} The HTML: <div class="panel">My quick links</div> <div class="arrow"></div> <a href="/messages.php?p=new" class="list">Send a new message</a> <br /> <div class="arrow"></div> <a href="/settings.php#password" class="list">Change my password</a> <br /> <div class="arrow"></div> <a href="/settings.php#picture" class="list">Upload a new site image</a> <br /> As you can see, each image should go before the writing. On the first line, the text "Send a new message" has the preceeding image. However, each line afterwards has the image at the end. So "Send a new message" has an image at the start and finish. It is like the images are staying at the end of the previous line. Any ideas?

  • :first-child fails when an element of a different class is dynamically inserted above

    So, I've encountered a situation where inserting an element of a different class/id breaks all css-rules on that :first-child. <div id="nav"> <div class="nSub">abcdef</div> <div class="nSub">abcdef</div> <div class="nSub">abcdef</div> <div class="nSub">abcdef</div> <div class="nSub">abcdef</div> </div> .nSub:first-child { margin-top:15px; -moz-border-radius-topleft:5px; /* ... */ } .nSub { background:#666; /* ... */ } .nSub:last-child { -moz-border-radius-bottomleft:5px; /* ... */ } As soon as I insert an element of another class/id above, like this: $('nav').insert({top:'<div id="newWF"></div>'}); all declarations for .nSub:first-child are being ignored in both FF 3.6 and Safari 4.

  • Using a Control Template for all controls across the application

    - by samar
    Hi, I have a control template in one of my pages and i am assigning this template to my textbox's Validation.ErrorTemplate property. The following code would give you a better view. <ControlTemplate x:Key="ValidationErrorTemplate"> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal" HorizontalAlignment="Right"> <AdornedElementPlaceholder/> <Image Name="ValidizorImage" Stretch="None" Source="validizor.gif" ToolTip="{Binding [0].ErrorContent}" ToolTipService.InitialShowDelay="0" ToolTipService.ShowDuration="60000"/> </StackPanel> </ControlTemplate> The above template sets the image at the end of the textbox which is having the error. This template is used as below. <TextBox Grid.Column="5" Grid.Row="1" x:Name="txtemail" Grid.ColumnSpan="3" Margin="0,1,20,1" Validation.ErrorTemplate="{StaticResource ValidationErrorTemplate}" /> My question here is I want to move this control template outside of this page so that i can use it across the application. I tried putting the exact same code of the control template in a user control say "ErrorUC" and using it as below TextBox1.SetResourceReference (System.Windows.Controls.Validation.ErrorTemplateProperty, new ErrorUC()); On running the above code i learnt that "AdornedElementPlaceholder" can be used only in templates and not in user controls. If i comment the same i am not getting the desired result. Can anyone please help! Thanks in advance! Regards, Samar

  • Blogger Template: how to change the color of the border css

    - by Lirik
    Hi, I'm trying to change the borders in the style sheet of the template on my blog, but I've never done anything with css so I'm a little bit at a loss... I want to keep the dark background, but I want to create a small border with a slightly different color around my postings. If my guess is correct, then I should modify some of these definitions: body { background:$bgcolor; margin:0; color:$textcolor; font: x-small "Trebuchet MS", Trebuchet, Verdana, Sans-serif; font-size/* */:/**/small; font-size: /**/small; text-align: center; } a:link { color:$linkcolor; text-decoration:none; } a:visited { color:$visitedlinkcolor; text-decoration:none; } a:hover { color:$titlecolor; text-decoration:underline; } a img { border-width:0; } Here is a pastie with the entire template I'm using: http://pastie.org/932535 Is there a quick way to achieve the desired effect? • CSS: Possible to define styles mid way through an html document?

    - by Dr. Zim
    In ASP.NET MVC, there are these snippets of html called view templates which appear when their matching data appears on the screen. For example, if you have a customer order and it has a vendor address, the vendor address view template shows up populated with data. Unfortunately, these don't have access to "MasterPages" nor are aware of their CSS surroundings. Instead of loading these up with style tags, is there any way to create partial CSS files that could work for that particular html snippet, a sort of in-line CSS style section? It would be really nice to plop this down just before we render the partial view: <style type="text/css"> input { margin: .2em .2em; overflow: hidden; width: 18.8em; height: 1.6em; border: 1px solid black;} </style> to have the 15 or so input fields in that particular Html snippet be formatted the same. These are swapped out, so the positions of the input fields change. This may also imply a CSS reset on each partial view.

  • Presentation Issue in an Unordered List

    - by phreeskier
    I'm having an issue with correctly presenting items in an unordered list. The labels are floating left and the related spans that are long in length are wrapping and showing below the label. I need a solution that keeps the related spans in their respective columns. In other words, I don't want long spans to show under the labels. What property can I take advantage of so that I get the desired layout in all of the popular browsers, including IE6? Thanks in advance for the help. My code is as follows: <ul> <li> <label>Name</label> <span><%= Html.Encode(Model.Name) %></span> </li> <li> <label>Entity</label> <span><%= Html.Encode(Model.Entity) %></span> </li> <li> <label>Phone</label> <span><%= Html.Encode(Model.Phone) %></span> </li> </ul> My CSS styling is as follows: ul { display:block; list-style-type:none; margin:0; padding:0; } ul li label { float:left; width:100px; }

Download working fine, but simultaniously I want show loader panel too. <asp:Panel ID="pnlPopup" runat="server" visible="false"> <div align="center" style="margin-top: 13px;"> <asp:Image runat ="server" ID="imgDownload" src="Images/ajax-loader.gif" alt="" /> <br /> <span class="updateProgressMessage">downloading ...</span> </div> Protected Sub btnDownload_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) 'Handles btnDownload.Click' Try pnlPopup.Visible = True Dim mSurvey As New Survey Dim mUser As New User Dim dtExcel As DataTable mUser = CType(Session("user"), User) dtExcel = mSurvey.CreateExcelWorkbook(mUser.UserID, mUser.Client.ID) Dim filename As String = "Download.xls" InitializeWorkbook() GenerateData(dtExcel) Response.ContentType = "application/vnd.ms-excel" Response.AddHeader("Content-Disposition", String.Format("attachment;filename={0}", filename)) Response.Clear() Response.BinaryWrite(WriteToStream.GetBuffer) Response.End() Catch ex As Exception Finally End Try End Sub

  • css menu <ul><li> dinamically centered or width of buttons that covers the whole page

    - by Tony Stark
    I am building a home page for my minecraft server. Probably in the following 4-6 months I will opend my second and this is why I am in trouble. My first site is 1000 pixel wide, and the second will be 1200. First big difference. My menus are dinamically generated by my php code. It checks on my databases if there is another button or it is over. These buttons can be added or removed directly online. Another big issue is the browser compatibility. In a survey I did on our previous server I had a lot of users using: chrome, internet explorer, safari and firefox. That means that I must find a solution that is compatible with most browsers. What do I have to do? I came up with this CSS, which is touch compatible, it allows menus to be swapped to the left and it is enough to set 1 parameter to fix it for every page width. Sadly it is left aligned. body, nav, ul, li, a {margin: 0; padding: 0;} body {font-family: Verdana,"Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; } a {text-decoration: none;} .container { max-width: 900px; margin: 0px auto 0px auto; } .toggleMenu { display: none; background: #666; padding: 10px 15px; color: #999999; } .nav { border: 1px solid #424242; background-color: #121212; filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient(startColorstr='#686868', endColorstr='#121212'); background-image: -moz-linear-gradient(#686868, #121212); background-image: -webkit-gradient(linear, left top, left bottom, from(#686868), to(#121212)); background-image: -webkit-linear-gradient(#686868, #121212); background-image: -o-linear-gradient(#686868, #121212); background-image: -ms-linear-gradient(#686868, #121212); background-image: linear-gradient(#686868, #121212); -moz-box-shadow: 0 1px 1px #777, 0 1px 0 #666 inset; -webkit-box-shadow: 0 1px 1px #777, 0 1px 0 #666 inset; box-shadow: 0 1px 1px #777, 0 1px 0 #666 inset; list-style: none; *zoom: 1; position: relative; } .nav:before,.nav:after { content: " "; display: table; } .nav:after { clear: both; } .nav ul { list-style: none; width: 11em; z-index: 1; background-color: #121212; -moz-box-shadow: 0 -1px rgba(255,255,255,.3); -webkit-box-shadow: 0 -1px 0 rgba(255,255,255,.3); box-shadow: 0 -1px 0 rgba(255,255,255,.3); } .nav a { padding: 10px 15px; color:#999999; text-transform: uppercase; font: bold 11px Arial, Helvetica; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: 0 1px 0 #000; *zoom: 1; } .nav a:hover{ color:#000000; background-color: #B2B2B2; filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient(startColorstr='#D3D3D3', endColorstr='#B2B2B2'); background-image: -moz-linear-gradient(#D3D3D3, #B2B2B2); background-image: -webkit-gradient(linear, left top, left bottom, from(#D3D3D3), to(#B2B2B2)); background-image: -webkit-linear-gradient(#D3D3D3, #B2B2B2); background-image: -o-linear-gradient(#D3D3D3, #B2B2B2); background-image: -ms-linear-gradient(#D3D3D3, #B2B2B2); background-image: linear-gradient(#D3D3D3, #B2B2B2); } /*Delimitazione di ogni tab | HOME | */ .nav li { position: relative; border-right: 1px solid #424242; -moz-box-shadow: 1px 0 0 #686868; -webkit-box-shadow: 1px 0 0 #686868; box-shadow: 1px 0 0 #686868; } .nav > li { float: left; border-top: 1px solid #424242; z-index: 200; } .nav > li > .parent { background-image: url("../downArrow.png"); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: center right; } .nav > li li > .parent { background-image: url("../rightArrow.png"); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: center right; } .nav > li > a { display: block; } .nav li ul { position: absolute; left: -9999px; z-index: 100; } /* freccetta che indica un sottomenu nell'ultimo tab */ .nav > li:last-child li > .parent{ background-image: url("../leftArrow.png"); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: left; } /*flip subsubmenu*/ .nav li.last.hover > ul { left:auto; right: 0; } .nav > li.hover > ul { left: 0; } .nav li li.hover > ul { left: 100%; top: 0; } /* Spostare il 2^ sottomenu a sinistra */ .nav li.last li.hover ul { left:auto; right: 100%; top:0; } .nav li li a { display: block; background-color: #686868; -moz-box-shadow: 0 -1px rgba(255,255,255,.3); -webkit-box-shadow: 0 -1px 0 rgba(255,255,255,.3); box-shadow: 0 -1px 0 rgba(255,255,255,.3); z-index:100; border-top: 1px solid #686868; } .nav li li li a { background-color: #686868; -moz-box-shadow: 0 -1px rgba(255,255,255,.3); -webkit-box-shadow: 0 -1px 0 rgba(255,255,255,.3); box-shadow: 0 -1px 0 rgba(255,255,255,.3); z-index:200; border-top: 1px solid #686868; } .nav li li li li a { display: block; background-color: #686868; -moz-box-shadow: 0 -1px rgba(255,255,255,.3); -webkit-box-shadow: 0 -1px 0 rgba(255,255,255,.3); box-shadow: 0 -1px 0 rgba(255,255,255,.3); z-index:300; border-top: 1px solid #686868; } .nav li li li li a { background-color: #686868; -moz-box-shadow: 0 -1px rgba(255,255,255,.3); -webkit-box-shadow: 0 -1px 0 rgba(255,255,255,.3); box-shadow: 0 -1px 0 rgba(255,255,255,.3); z-index:400; border-top: 1px solid #686868; } @media screen and (max-width: 768px) { .active { display: block; } .nav > li { float: none; } .nav > li > .parent { background-position: 95% 50%; } .nav li li .parent { background-image: url("../downArrow.png"); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: 95% 50%; } .nav ul { display: block; width: 100%; } .nav > li.hover > ul , .nav li li.hover ul { position: static; } } My girlfriend (who adapted this code) is really busy for school and cannot help me. Leaving the borders on the whole square (page width), is it possible to make buttons cover the page width dinamically? Or is it possible to center the buttons? Thank you very much!
