    I have seen many responses that say that prefixing variables with their type is bad, since C# is statically typed and we have Intellisense, but I find that prefixing the names of the controls is useful because I don't need to remember the name of the controls or switch to the designer frequently. For example: btnLoad // Button tbFilePath // TextBox tvFileSystem // TreeView Is this considered bad? If it is, what's the alternative?

Is there now "NEXT" syntax, something like: git diff 1a2e^..NEXT OR git changeset 1a2e ??     Each version of Visual Studio comes with a specific version of the MFC framework, but I believe MFC SDK can be downloaded separately. Since MFC is just C++, is there any reason you couldn't use the latest version with an older version of VC++... I don't mean trying to get the ribbon working in MSVC++ 6, But we're on VS2005 and some of the newer MFC features would be useful.

    I "accidentally" came across this weird but valid syntax i=3 print i+++i #outputs 6 print i+++++i #outputs 6 print i+-+i #outputs 0 print i+--+i #outputs 6 (for every even no: of minus symbol, it outputs 6 else 0, why?)     Lets say I have something like... void foo() { char c[100]; printf("this function does nothing useful"); } When foo is called, it creates the array on the stack, and when it goes out of scope, is the memory deallocated automatically? Or is c destroyed, but the memory remains allocated, with no way to access it/get it back except restarting the computer?

    Anyone know if ffmpeg does asynchronous file io? That is, the input file is read in a separate thread as to avoid io blocking the processing thread? Basically what I want to figure out is whether or not i need to do calls to "av_read_frame" inside a separate thread (to avoid blocking) or if ffmpeg alrdy handles this issue? How might I figure this out? I've tried downloading the ffmpeg source but haven't been able to find anything useful.

So I am looking for column names for which some sort of useful values exists at least in one row. How do I do this? Update: This sounds very close.   • Are there any C++ style and/or standard example files available?

    While there are lots of questions about coding style, beautifying, and enforcement, I haven't found any example C++ files that are used as a quick reference for style. The file should be one or two pages long and exemplify a given coding standard/style. For example, the Google C++ Style Guide is a great reference, but I think a one to two page piece of code written in their style pinned to a wall would be more useful in day-to-day use. Do any of these already exist?
