• Win32 Window Menu is appearing along left side instead of across top of window

  I think I may be using a wrong window style or something or maybe just adding the menu to the window incorrectly. I'll post a link to an image here so you can see what I mean about the menu not diplaying correctly: http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/4828/wtfmenu.jpg And here's a link to the code that creates the menu and the window: http://pastebin.com/CBrSVXUD I'm sure I'm missing something simple and dumb in the labyrinth of styles, settings and etc that are part and parcel for the Win32 API. Has anyone seen this before and know what I'm doing wrong? I just want a 'normal' menu bar along the top, snug against the title bar. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Let's call them functions1.php, functions2.php, functions3.php: function function_something( $atts ) { extract( something_atts( array( 'foo' => 'bar', 'bar' => 'foo, ), $atts ) ); return 'something'; } I'm loading these files within all_functions.php like this: require_once('functions1.php'); require_once('functions2.php'); require_once('functions3.php'); I'm wondering if it's possible to create an array of all these functions and their attributes? I'm thinking about something like: function my_functions() { require_once('functions1.php'); require_once('functions2.php'); require_once('functions3.php'); } And then some foreach loop, but I'm not sure how should it look like after all. I know this probably looks tricky, but I'm just curious if I'm able to list all my WordPress shortcodes without PHP's Reflection API :)

• UI Guidelines for Android Honeycomb on Tablets

  The UI in Android Honeycomb is very different. I'm looking for things that have changed that would be of interest to developers. Google hasn't updated it's UI guidelines yet, so I am trying to find this stuff out by inspecting the layouts. I am mainly interested in dimensions of icons and new types of views. The action bar height is 56dp (?android:attr/actionBarSize). It seems that the menu icons are 32 x 32 dp now, they were 48 x 48 dp before. Since they are in the action bar, they have a lot of padding around them. The size of a menu icon with padding is 64 x 56 dp. I needed this since I was trying to put a ProgressBar as a menu item. Anything else change? Also, I'm interested in the size of some common UI patterns, like the widths for a list/detail layout like the mail client.

• Updating Label on previously loaded view?

  I am working on a simple app tab-bar based application that has two views. The first is the main application and the second is a simple instruction screen. What I am trying to do is create a update a label on that second screen as things change in the main app. Because the second screen is only simple with one label and some text I am not unloading it once its loaded. After the first viewDidLoad I can update the label just fine, but after that is there a way to catch successive view switches from the tab-bar menu so I can update the label? many thanks gary

• Does Windows 7 have a Kiosk Mode?

  I'm writing a Kiosk on a Windows 7 computer. The Kiosk is on a touch screen computer, that will not have a keyboard. The application is a WPF application running the .NET Framework version 3.5. I'm having problems with the progress bar task bar showing up (blinking) at the bottom of the screen. This unfortunately gives the user access to the background operating system. Is there someway to lock a full screen application window into the front of the screen without using it on-top-of-everything mode. Some sort of Kiosk mode, or some tool that was designed for this.

• Flex chart display with no datapoint

  I need to display price of item for every date in the month. The chart can be Bar chart or plot chart. Question: Suppose there is no data available for 01/15/2010 then, Is there a way to display (01/15/2010) on x axis but no (bar or plot point) corresponding y axis point ? i.e. there will be a empty space between 2 bars or plot points. Currently i am using 0 , But 0 is a valid value. Let me know if such a display is possible.

• Forcing Flex to update the screen?

  This may be a bit of a beginners question, but I can't for the life of me figure it out. I'm using flex to develop a GUI for a large project, specifically a status bar along the bottom. Within my StatusBar class is a ProgressBar, which other classes doing work can tell to update(change bar completion and label) as they progress. The problem I'm encountering is that flex won't update whats shown on the screen until it's too late, for example ProgressBar initialized, 0% done some class sets the ProgressBar to be 12% done some class does some work some class sets the ProgressBar to be 56% done Whats happening is the 12% done is never displaying, it just hangs at 0% during the work, then skips right to 56% done. I've tried to understand the lifecycle of a flex component (invalidation and validation), and I think I understand it and am applying it correctly, but it's not working at all. I need to tell flex to redraw my StatusBar (or at least the ProgressBar within) after some class sets it to be 12% done, but before some class starts doing its work. How do I do this?

• Actionbar scherlock is not refreshed when the orientation is changed

  I use Sherlock action bar in my application. I used "ifRoom|withText" feature in my menu. If I test my code in portrait mode, I can see only icon and if I rotate orientation to landscape, still I see only icon. On the other hand, if I run with landscape, I can see text and icon on portrait and landscape. This means that When the screen is rotated, action bar is not refreshed. How can I fix? In menu, I have android:showAsAction="ifRoom|withText" Also I used this line in my manifest file to fixed android:configChanges="keyboardHidden|orientation|screenSize" but it didn't work.   I don't have a lot of experience with Jboss AOP and I'm just curious if it's possible to replace all calls like Field f = foo.class.getDeclaredField("bar"); f.set(object, value); with something like Field f = foo.class.getDeclaredField("bar"); FieldSetCaller.invoke(f, object, value); using Jboss AOP. FieldSetCaller is my own class. I need to replace all Field.set calls on the fly, without recompiling the code. Some third -party code I even cannot recompile because I don't have the source. I can achieve this using java asm framework and I'm wandering if Jboss AOP can do it as well. Just for information - my code is running on Jboss server 4.3.0

• .htaccess newb - RewriteRule not matching 2nd rule, why?

  I am currently migrating from isapi_rewrite to .htaccess. I'm having some difficulty and I think it's something basic, but I'm not terribly familiar with .htaccess. I have the two rules like so: RewriteRule ^testing/ /test/index.html?test=1 [NC] RewriteRule ^testing/foo-bar/ /test/index.html?test=2 [NC] Yet the second rule never matches. If I go to http://mydomain.com/testing/foo-bar/ then I will only see the first rule. Why is that? And can it be easily fixed? I have many rules (outputted from the database to write the .htaccess file )and ordering them in a particular order isn't really possible.

• Perform Push Segue From a Tab View Controller

  I have a Tab Bar Controller App, the tab bar controller is forked into several "tab" view controller, in one of the view controller I want to redirect the user to an other view controller. I create a segue from that tab view controller to the destination view controller and given it an Identifer. And I call "performSegueWithIdentifier" in "viewDidAppear" to redirect the user. It works fine when the segue is "Modal", however since I want to retain the tabs, I want to call the segue through "Push". However, once I change the segue to "Push", it is not working anymore (it does not try to go to the destination view controller). The app did not crash on the simulator but just staying on the origin tab view controller.

There is a many to many relationship that has a primary key in one table that corresponds to a comma separated list in another.   As you know, in Eclipse you can turn on "Unnecessary 'else' statement" check that will trigger on if-then-else with premature return. And, from my experience, there are two most possible situations when use such statement: 1) Pre-check: if (validate(arg1)) { return false; } doLotOfStuff(); 2) Post-check: doLotOfStuff(); if (condition) { return foo; } else { return bar; } In the second case, if the trigger is on, Eclipse will suggest you to change the code to: doLotOfStuff(); if (condition) { return foo; } return bar; However, I think that the return with else statement is more readable as it is like direct mapping of business logic. So I am curios if this "Unnecessary 'else' statement" code convention is widespread or else statement is more preferable?
