• How do I generate coverage xml report for a single package?

  I'm using nose and coverage to generate coverage reports. I only have one package right now, ae, so I specify to only cover that: nosetests -w tests/unit --with-xunit --with-coverage --cover-package=ae And here are the results, which look good: Name Stmts Exec Cover Missing ---------------------------------------------- ae 1 1 100% ae.util 253 224 88% 39, 63-65, 284, 287, 362, 406 ---------------------------------------------- TOTAL 263 234 88% ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ran 68 tests in 5.292s However when I run coverage xml, coverage pulls in more packages than necessary, including python email and logging packages which have nothing to do with my code. If I run coverage xml ae, I get this error: No source for code: '/home/wraith/dev/projects/trimurti/src/ae': [Errno 21] Is a directory: '/home/wraith/dev/projects/trimurti/src/ae' Is there a way to generate the XML for just the ae package?

• Adjacency List Tree Using Recursive WITH (Postgres 8.4) instead of Nested Set

  I'm looking for a Django tree library and doing my best to avoid Nested Sets (they're a nightmare to maintain). The cons of the adjacency list model have always been an inability to fetch descendants without resorting to multiple queries. The WITH clause in Postgres seems like a solid solution to this problem. Has anyone seen any performance reports regarding WITH vs. Nested Set? I assume the Nested set will still be faster but as long as they're in the same complexity class, I could swallow a 2x performance discrepancy. Django-Treebeard interests me. Does anyone know if they've implemented the WITH clause when running under Postgres? Has anyone here made the switch away from Nested Sets in light of the WITH clause?

• Internet Explorer discards cookie when printing?

  I have an unusual issue with this page: http://reports.liftlogger.com/FleetReport/Status/ (username stackoverflow / password stackoverflow). The page loads and renders correctly in IE7/8. However, the graph does NOT print correctly. When printing or print previewing, the graph fails to load. I've identified that when printing, the browser attempts to reload the image, but does not send the ASPXAUTH authentication cookie along with it. This is required to generate the image (due to permission enforcement in the back-end). Can anyone help me identify why IE decides not to send this cookie, and is there a fix? Regards Gareth

• MS Access Print Report using VBA

  I have a very VBA intensive report. When I preview it everything is great but when I print it after previewing things go wacky. I have spent many hours narrowing down the possibilities and I have conclude with a certain level of confidence that it is a but in MS Access. Up to this point my method for printing reports was to open the report using docmd.openreport "report". I then use the docmd.printout command so that I can set the page range, collation etc. Is there a way to print a report directly and still be able to set options like page rage, collate etc without doing a preview first?   I'm looking for a way to generate pdf files from html In order to make simple tabular reports I would need the following features table rendering variable page size repeating headers / footers on every page calculated page number / total page css support would be nice I know there have been many similar questions in stackoverflow, but I don't know if there's a product that supports the aforementioned features... Ideally, the source would be a plain and simple well built html with css, (I'm building the html files, so I can adapt to the products needs, that is, it won't have to render every piece of html crap you can throw at a browser) and with some custom tags to configure headings, footer, page size, etc... then I would run a command line to convert it from html to pdf. I think http://www.allcolor.org/YaHPConverter/ does something like that

• Why does PowerShell fail to build my .net solutions? ("file is being used by another process")

  I've written a PowerShell script to build several .net solutions one after the other. It simply makes several calls to csc.exe to build the .sln files. Almost every time I run the script one of the solutions fails to build and CSC.exe reports: error CS1606: Assembly signing failed; output may not be signed -- The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. This happens even though I've closed all instances of Visual Studio holding these solutions and I've none of their exes running on mu machine. A similar batch file that I've written works just fine. It's only PowerShell that complains about the file being used by another process. How can avoid having this happen? Are there any better examples out there of building .net solutions through PowerShell?

Each time I try to call the ListChildren method I get an insuffient permission exception.   Hello! I have been receiving reports from some of my users that, when using idFTP.List() from some servers (MS FTP) then the listing is received as empty (no files) when in reality there are (non-hidden) files on the current directory. May this be a case of a missing parser? The funny think, when I use the program to get the list from MY server (MSFTP on W2003) everything seems OK but on some servers I've been hitting this problem. Using latest Indy10 on D2010. Any idea?

  Hi All I have a custom module I made to show featured products on the homepage. I set it up to show products that are in a ‘featured’ category. It works fine in 1.3, but now in 1.4 I get the following error: SQLSTATE[42S22]: Column not found: 1054 Unknown column ‘e.category_ids’ in ‘where clause’ Here’s my code: $_productCollection = Mage::getResourceModel('reports/product_collection') ->addAttributeToSelect('*') ->addAttributeToFilter('visibility', $visibility) ->addAttributeToFilter('category_ids',array('finset'=>$featuredcategory)) $_productCollection->load(); The featured category is specified from the admin. • Preserve images in Excel headers using Apache POI

  I am trying to generate Excel reports using Apache POI 3.6 (latest). Since POI has limited support for header and footer generation (text only), I decided to start from a blank excel file with the header already prepared and fill the Excel cells using POI (cf. question 714172). Unfortunately, when opening the workbook with POI and writing it immediately to disk (without any cell manpulation), the header seems to be lost. • Need an ASP.NET MVC long running process with user feedback

  I've been trying to create a controller in my project for delivering what could turn out to be quite complex reports. As a result they can take a relatively long time and a progress bar would certainly help users to know that things are progressing. The report will be kicked off via an AJAX request, with the idea being that periodic JSON requests will get the status and update the progress bar. I've been experimenting with the AsyncController as that seems to be a nice way of running long processes without tying up resources, but it doesn't appear to give me any way of checking on the progress (and seems to block further JSON requests and I haven't discovered why yet). After that I've tried resorting to storing progress in a static variable on the controller and reading the status from that - but to be honest that all seems a bit hacky! All suggestions gratefully accepted!

• StyleCop 4.4 works inside VS.NET 2010 but not MSBuild command line

  We are seeing extremely strange results where StyleCop will correctly report violations when run from within Visual Studio 2010. However, when we run msbuild on the command line (e.g., "MSBuild.exe mySolution.sln") it reports "No violations encountered" when clearly there are the same violations as when we ran it within Visual Studio. Is this a bug in the latest release of StyleCop? Or in the 2010 integration? Is there anything you can tell me about possible differences with StyleCop executing from within VS.NET versus MSBuild command line? Thanks.

• How to create a custom ADO Multi Dimensional Catalog with no database

  Does anyone know of an example of how to dynamically define and build ADO MD (ActiveX Data Objects Multidimensional) catalogs and cube definitions with a set of data other than a database? Background: we have a huge amount of data in our application that we export to a database and then query using the usual SQL joins, groups, sums etc to produce reports. The data in the application is originally in objects and arrays. The problem is the amount of data is so large the export can take 2 hours. So I am trying to figure out a good way of querying the objects in memory, either by a custom OLAP algorithm or library, or ADO MD. But I haven't been able to find an example of using ADO MD without a database behind it. We are using Delphi 2010 so would use ADO ActiveX but I imagine the ADO.NET MD is similar. I realize that if the application data was already stored in a database the problem would solve itself. Also if Delphi had LINQ capability I could query the objects and arrays that way.

Previously, for my similar Winforms App, I had extended the IComponent (Component Class) and wrote our VS Like designer kind of custom control which will allow users to drag drop controls from the visual studio toolbox and then I export it as a VisualStudio C#&VB ItemTemplate. Now I am trying to recreate the same control using WPF considering its power, extensiblity. Could anyone shed some lights on this, on what would be the most preferable way of doing this ?   Hi, I'm learning about SNMP, and writing some applications using it. I have some basic questions about the protocol: Do the agents store its state on the device itself? If there is a trap set on an agent, can you do a poll on the same OID to get the same information? Without using a mib file, is there a way to query a device for all of its information at once? If not, and you're writing your own customized manager, do you have to know the structure of what it reports up front? If you're setting up an agent to report, is there usually a way to control the frequency of how often it sends a trap? Or does it usually send a trap as often as some condition is satisfied?

• Add columns to SqlWebEventProvider

  In an asp.net application, we'd like to use the SqlWebEventProvider to log any Event that occurs during the application lifetime. The problem is that we think that the table aspnet_WebEvent_Event doesn't provide enough columns and should log more information (we need to keep the Logged user). I'm aware that this information could be stored in the "Details" column but it wouldn't then be really simple to filter the results and build reports. So I'm searching for a simple solution to add a column. I wish I could derive SqlWebEventProvider but the methods used to build the stocked procedure parameters are private (PrepareParams() and FillParams()). Any simple solution that doesn't imply to rewrite the entire Provider class ?

  Hello! I am learning Qooxdoo framework and I am trying to make it work with a small Django web service.   I am using VS 2008 Team Suite and SQL Server 2008 in my development environment. I am deploying to a shared-host website with shared-host SQL Server 2005. I want to push changes from my development environment to my production host. I tried using Data | Schema Compare... and it reports to me that it does not support SQL Server 2008. What do people use for this (Besides Red-Gate tools - I use those at my day job, and they rock...this is a volunteer thing for my son's school)?   Hi everyone, I need to compile a C++ code that uses std=gnu++0x option to the g++ compiler in the Makefile.am , As this option is compatible only with gcc 4.3 and above, the build crashes on my machine where i have gcc 4.2. What are my alternatives ? I tried removing that option from the Makefile.am but that reports some other error. Do i need to install gcc 4.3 or above? How can I do it in ubuntu hardy through apt-get ? Thanks.

• Core Data (NSFetchedResultsController) displaying one row per section

  I have a CoreData application which uses NSFetchedResultsController. NSFetchedResultsController is useful in that it allows me to access the fetched objects more easily etc. but I find that I have problems with the following: I get a crash when I display a single row for each section (irrespective of the number of actual rows present) as a summary of the information in that section (e.g. showing a statistical analysis of the data contained in the fetched rows for that section). I understand that the NSFetchedResultsControllerDelegatemethods have to agree with the number of rows reported per section by the UITableView Delegate method but I would like to be able to fetch all of the records for each section without necessarily displaying each of the rows. The above causes me inconsistency crashes, when I try to insert or delete data for a section, which reports that the number of rows for each section is not as it should be given the number of insertions/deletions. Is there any way I can do what I'm trying to achieve? Thanks for any help.

  Which project tracking tool do you use? Does it allow programmers to bill hours worked to projects/tasks? Does it allow to track items promised vs. items delivered? Does it allow to forecast personnel needs when you have only a ballpark estimate of how many hours you are going to need for different task types? Does it integrate with your bug tracker? [Mantis] Does it integrate with your source control tool? [Subversion] Does it allow you to easily publish your schedule and current priorities to team members? Does it produce reports on any or all of the above? Am I even right in calling a tool that does those things a "Project tracking/management tool"? What does your tool have that makes you love it and use it every day? I don't really care about Gantt charts. I find Microsoft Project quite clunky for this needs (although I'm hardly an expert user).
