• How do I substitute an xsd when using dom4j?

  I'm using dom4j to load an xml file which references an xsd. If the xml file references the xsd http://foo/bar.xsd, how can I tell dom4j to instead use an xsd file located in the classpath? I was hoping that I could open an inputstream to the local xsd and then pass that to dom4j to use when it encounters that url. The next best thing would be to just have dom4j use an alternate url that could point to a local file like file:///c:/foo/bar.xsd.

  I'm working with an XML document where a tag must either have one set of attributes or another.   Hi, I have an array: $arr = array('foo', 'bar', 'bash', 'monkey', 'badger'); I want to have the elements in that array appear as the variables in my list(): list($foo, $bar, $bash, $monkey, $badger) = $data; Without actually specifying the variables, I tried; list(implode(",$", $arr)) = $data; and list(extract($arr)) = $data; But they don't work, I get: Fatal error: Can't use function return value in write context Does anyone have any idea whether this is possible? • NSOutlineView not refreshing when objects added to managed object context from NSOperations

  Background Cocoa app using core data Two processes - daemon and a main UI Daemon constantly writing to a data store UI process reads from same data store NSOutlineView in UI is bound to an NSTreeController which is bound to Application with key path of delegate.interpretedMOC What I want When the UI is activated, the outline view should update with the latest data inserted by the daemon. The Problem Main Thread Approach I fetch all the entities I'm interested in, then iterate over them, doing refreshObject:mergeChanges:YES. This works OK - the items get refreshed correctly. However, this is all running on the main thread, so the UI locks up for 10-20 seconds whilst it refreshes. Fine, so let's move these refreshes to NSOperations that run in the background instead. NSOperation Multithreaded Approach As soon as I move the refreshObject:mergeChanges: call into an NSOperation, the refresh no longer works. When I add logging messages, it's clear that the new objects are loaded in by the NSOperation subclass and refreshed. Not only that, but they are What I've tried I've messed around with this for 2 days solid and tried everything I can think of. Passing objectIDs to the NSOperation to refresh instead of an entity name. Resetting the interpretedMOC at various points - after the data refresh and before the outline view reload. I'd subclassed NSOutlineView. I discarded my subclass and set the view back to being an instance of NSOutlineView, just in case there was any funny goings on here. Added a rearrangeObjects call to the NSTreeController before reloading the NSOutlineView data. Made sure I had set the staleness interval to 0 on all managed object contexts I was using. I've got a feeling this problem is somehow related to caching core data objects in memory. But I've totally exhausted all my ideas on how I get this to work. I'd be eternally grateful of any ideas anyone else has.   Using winforms in vs2008. I have a DataGridView and I would like to detect when the vertical scroll bar is visible. What event should I register for? I am adding the summing the each cell value in the last column of the grid and displaying that value in a textbox at the bottom of the DataGridView. I would like this textbox to stay lined up with the cell values (I have made them right aligned since it is $$ values) even after the scroll bar is present.

• NSNotification center may not respond to -object ?

  Hi, I'm trying to make simple use of the NSNotification center inside my iPhone application, but I seem to be doing something wrong in this case. I was under the impression that it was possible to retrieve an object associated with a particular message, or at least a reference to the object, but using the following example code I'm getting a warning, "NSNotification center may not respond to -object" - (void)addNewBookmark:(NSNotificationCenter *)notification { Bookmark *newBookMark = (Bookmark *)[notification object]; //Do some stuff with the bookmark object } Indeed, when I compile and run the code, basically nothing I try to do with the contents of the object actually gets carried out - it's simply ignored. The post code is as follows, - (IBAction)save:(id) sender{ //Sending the message with the related object [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] postNotificationName:@"addNewBookmark" object:bookmark]; } and the bookmark object itself is just a dictionary. I also tried using the "userInfo" argument and passing the bookmark object through that, but the result was the same. How should I be doing this? What am I doing wrong?

  Hi everybody, I'm implementing a Log system for PHP, and I'm a bit stuck. All the configuration is defined in an XML file, that declares every method to be logged. XML is well parsed and converted into a multidimensionnal array (classname = array of methods). So far, so good.   Hi I am in the process of creating an app that is similar to the build-in SMS app. What I need: - a service that is always running in the background - every 5 min. the service checks the current location of the device and calls a web service - if certain criteria are meet, the service should generate a notification (just like the SMS app) - when the notification is clicked, the user is taken to the app (just like the SMS app) - when the app is installed the service should be started - when the device is rebooted, the service should be started What I have tried: - running a regular service which worked just fine until android kills the service - using the AlarmManager the make the 5 min. interval call to a service. But I was not able to make this work. Any help would be greatly appreciated... -Thomas

  I'm currently building a homepage for our staff which is to be set as the homepage in their browser. I'm currently building the facility whereby nominated members of staff can send notifications to all staff. These will popup on their home page without the need for them to refresh the page. I've currently got the code below which worked fine for 1 notification, but there may be more than 1 at a time waiting to be shown. I've switched to outputting json but I'm not sure how to modify my code to consume it. • How can I make the text of a UIBarButtonItem wrap to two lines?

  Some of the titles of view controllers in my UINavigationController are quite long, which makes the back button in the navigation bar of the next view controller in the hierarchy miss out some of the text, with a "..." instead. How could I make the text of the back button wrap onto two lines, as with "Now Playing" in the navigation bar of iPod.app? Thanks!
