  Hi I have this code, I want it to remove all the double spaces from a text area, but it will only remove the first occurrence each time. $(document).ready(function(){ $("#article").blur(function(){ ///alert($(this).val()); $(this).val($(this).val().replace(/\s\s+/, ' ')); }); }); I've also tried removeAll(), but it won't work at all. any help would be great, thanks.   I'm trying to retrieve data from a php file named return that contains <?php echo 'here is a string'; ?>. I'm doing this through an html file containing ` div { color:blue; } span { color:red; } var x; $.get("return.php", function(data){ x = data; }) function showAlert() {alert(x);} $(document).ready(function(){ alert(x); }); ` When the button is clicked it retrieves and displays the code fine, but on the page loading, it displays "undefined" instead of the data in return.php. Any solutions?

  I am currently working with the jQuery validation plugin, and I want to show only one error-message before the form itself.   I have a script that requires quite e few seconds of processing, up to about minute. The script resizes an array of images, sharpens them and finally zips them up for the user to download. Now I need some sort of progress messages. I was thinking that with jQuery's .post() method the data from the callback function would progressively update, but that doesn't seem to work. • jQuery effect on iframe parent document

  Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this or knows why I am getting an error. I'm using javascript from within an iframe to call a parent dom element then use jQuery UI's effect core to shake it. It works when I change from id to idfield - but our server code breaks since it expects the form with element key id. Is there a work around for this?   Hy I am a uber nube to jquery my question is like this: if I have multiple toggle on same page and the div I`m toggleing must be desplayed in the same div. • Java: I can't interact with my JFrame

  Hi, I have a java application (1.4.2) that uses 2 JFrames. The first is Modal=true and appears on top of the second JFrame. The first JFrame allows the user to "open" a file. Once the file is ready to be displayed, the JFrame is set to setModal=false, and this.dispose() 'd of. This leaves only the second JFrame on the screen. However, I can't interact with it. The code does not throw any errors and appears to run perfectly fine. BUT I can;t interact with the second JFrame. The ONLY way to exit the JFrame is to hit the stop button on my development envirnment. I literally cannot stop the JFrame by clicking the close button, because I can't even interact with that portion of the JFrame. Any thoughts?

  Hello, I would like to be able to click on an achor element from a page inside a jQuery tab and have that new page load directly inside the original tab. I used sample code from the jQuery tutorial page but to no avail! When I click on the anchor tag, I get redirected to www.google.com but lose my tabs. I have been waiting for its new edition and it is ready now, as we can see in this Steve's blog post It is updated a lot taking into account all new features of ASP.NET MVC 2, .NET 4 and Visual Studio 2010. In addition, "SportsStore" tutorial of this edition uses Ninject instead of first edition's Castle Windsor for DI. I wonder, why? Does it mean that Castle Windsor became a little outdated?

• JQuery: Specify placement of error messages inline using Metadata and Validate plugins

  I'm doing form validation using JQuery with the validate and metadata plugins. I'm using the metadata plugin so I can specify the rules and messages inline in the html form instead of in the javascript in the page . I'm getting an error when I try to specify the location of the error message using errorPlacement. (If I specify it in the section it works fine, but not if I specify it inline.)   Our web app offers a service that allows a "Publisher" to create a website (we give them a CMS system) that is ready to provide this service to "Members" (think Shopify). We have some possible clients that wish to become "Publishers" but they already have existing websites (vbulletin, word press blog, etc) with their own user base. We wish to develop an API that would allow these "Publishers" to keep using their own websites, and embed our services into them. Our main business requirement is that once "Members" are logged into the "Publishers" existing system, they should be able to also access our website without having to log-in again OR have to create another account there. The process should be seamless to the "Member" and "Publishers" should not have to sync their user base with our system. We also want to use an existing API authentication/authorization system instead of creating our own (OAuth, OpenID, etc) What would be the best way to use OAuth to achieve this sigle-sign on design? If OAuth is not the best tool, is there any other one out there that fits our requirements?

  There's a database engine that looks amazing for a free tool and that is Scimore. Have you had much experience with it? If so, how does it rate..particularly against Firebird? How resilient/self reliant is it? (Meaning how much downtime/maintenance is expected?) The scale out capabilities also look very interesting. I just downloaded it and have been playing around and so far it looks good. I had been looking for an easy to deploy single-user type embedded database (which Scimore has an option) and was toying with MS SQL Compact Edition and SQLite and remembered this database from a trial a few years ago. (Windows platform) I was about ready to settle in on SQLite but started thinking about other projects which are multi-user and wanted to stick with a single solution...which is why I started looking at Firebird as well.

I usually upload my drupal into a subfolder "drupal" and I ask my customers to check the website in such subfolders until when it is ready. Then I asl to change the default folder in Apache to the "drupal" one. Sometimes my customer cannot change Apache configuration, so I was wondering if I can use a php script to forward users from root folder to the drupal one, or I should move the website to the root folder (which I would prefer to avoid, because is time consuming). thanks

• Deferring signal handling in Linux

  I'm trying to figure out how to block a signal in Linux kernel 2.4 (user space) from invoking its handler, but keep it available to be handled later, preferably as soon as I re activate the handling of said signal. The function sigprocmask seem to come up in all my search results, but I can't find a good, clear description that explains whether the blocked signal gets "saved" to be handled later, and if so where and how do I handle it when I'm ready for it. Can someone please clarify what's going on, preferably with a code example? Thanks in advance.
