• Pass a variable from postDispatch() to view instance in Zend Framework

  I have a controller plugin with postDispatch() hook, and there I have a $variable. How to pass this variable to the view instance? I tried Zend_Layout::getMvcInstance()->getView(), but this returns new view instance (not the application resource). The same with $bootstrap->getResource('view'). I don't want to pass it as a request param. Now, as a workaround I do it using Zend_Registry. But, is it the best way?

• xampp php not working

  so I have my PHP file (it all works fine the php side of it I know this for a fact) located in xampp's htdocs 'contact.php' so In my webpage I have it linked up to there "http://localhost/contact.php" however when I press the button and it runs the php i get "Not Found HTTP Error 404. The requested resource is not found." am I linking it wrong? have I put it in the wrong folder (should I put it in the php www folder / how do I link that up?) cheers

For example: Eclipse: Cmd|Ctrl+Shift+R - Open Resource IntellIJ: Cmd|Ctrl+Shift+N - Open File TextMate: Cmd+T - Go to File In Xcode, I have found no such options. Please, please tell me I just overlooked it in my growing frustration. Is there a "Go to file" or "Open File" shortcut in Xcode?

  I have a jar file with resources (mainly configuration for caches, logging, etc) that I want to distribute. I'm having a problem with the relative paths for those resources, so I did what I've found in another stackoverflow question, which said that this was a valid way: ClassInTheSamePackageOfTheResource.class.getResourceAsStream('resource.xml'); Sadly this does not work. Any ideas? Thanks! PS: Obviously I cannot use absolute paths, and I'd like to avoid environment variables if possible

  I already have an iPhone application (version 1.0) available in the App Store and am ready to submit a newer version (version 1.1). How do I test the new upgrade to make sure that the current sqlite database and property list files on the earlier version do not get deleted/overwritten etc? The new version assumes the old data in both the sqlite database and property lists remain.   Is there a good resource to get run times for standard API functions? It's somewhat confusing when trying to optimize your program. I know Java isn't made to be particularly speedy but I can't seem to find much info on this at all. Example Problem: If I am looking for a certain token in a file is it faster to scan each line using string.contains(...) or to bring in say 100 or so lines putting them to a local string them performing contains on that chunk.
