  Is it somehow possible to link Facebook address each username is given to Gmail? Obviously, there is the "Accounts, Send mail as" feature, but that used to return an error ... • Trying to mount an NFS directory from a Mac with another user

  I have a username on an ubuntu server, lets call it user a. I want to mount a directory from that server to my Mac, on which I have another username, lets call it user b. My problem is that, after I mount the directory (using the disk utility app) I can view files on the server but can't modify or create new files on it. I checked, and if I change the permissions of the server directory so that its open to everyone (chmod 777), I can write to it. So what I need to know, is how can I specify the username and password in the NFS client when setting up the mount? That is, I want to specify that I'm trying to log in as user a to the server.

• Windows program to remove titlebar, frame, etc from a window?

  I like playing computer games in windowed mode, as opposed to full screen. I don't like staring at the title bar, frame, and other UI junk. I also don't like seeing other stuff on my desktop around the window. Is there a simple Windows program that will strip the UI chrome off of an arbitrary window from some other application? Extra points for an easy way to put a black screen underneath the window, hiding the desktop. Note: I'm looking specifically to handle windows that are smaller than my desktop size. There's a variety of 'windowed maximized' options that make a window exactly the desktop size, and positioned so all the UI decorations are off screen. (E.g.: ShiftWindow). I'm trying to strip all the decorations away from a window that's smaller than desktop size.

Mozilla says the following: Firefox will not run at all without the following libraries or packages: * GTK+ 2.10 or higher * GLib 2.12 or higher * Pango 1.14 or higher * X.Org 1.0 or higher Of course i need to install all these dependencies without root privileges as well, but the thing is i don't know exactly how to do this. I've tried a few things i found on the internet, but to no avail.

• svnserve, Mac OS X Lion Server and user accounts

  I am trying to use the "built-in" user accounts of my Mac OS X Lion server to grant access to repositories. Currently I am using the conf/passwd file (which works), but I don't like the fact that the passwords are visible as plain text. Is there a way to "connect" the svnserve access restriction to the normal user accounts that are already on the system? Thanks PS: I am not wanting to connect via Apache/WebDav - there I know it works. I want to connect via svn:// using the existing user accounts.

• cygwin: ~ != $HOME

  When I start cygwin, my ~ dir is the same as $HOME. After some time, ~ dir changs, while $HOME stays the same. I am puzzled by this, not sure where to look. Maybe someone experienced this, or has some clue what's going on? When I start: winuser@mybox ~ $ echo $HOME /cygdrive/c/cyguser winuser@mybox ~ $ echo ~ /cygdrive/c/cyguser Later, ~ changes to /cygdrive/c/winuser, which is non-existent. When I restart cygwin, everything is back to normal. What could be causing this?

  Users are authenticated by mod_auth_kerb which works great. Therefore I need to set Require valid-user If there is no valid user Apache fails with an 401 Authorization Required. I would like Apache to deliver the website anyway but not providing a remote_user to the underlying script. This is related to How to tell mod_auth_kerb to do its job despite no "require valid-user". But with the important difference that on a whole subdirectory on every url a kerberos negotation should be initiated, and if it fails it should deliver the content anyway.

• Is there a way to manage browser [chrome] session cookies with a fast toggle for multiple users?

  I feel I should go into more detail. My wife and I share a laptop and browse email. Currently we keep coming back to each others gmail accounts, having to log out and log back in. Are there any good extensions or addons that would allow us to toggle back and forth between these? This does not necessarily need to apply to just gmail but include any cookie, session, etc. I'd be willing to use Firefox if such an extension exists on it as well. Much appreciated!

  I know this question is not technical, but i did not find the "stackoverflow for legal issues" and I guess all you super users out there might know the answer. Here is my (potential) problem: I have a free email account at a (inter)national email provider. I used the words "wikileaks" and "twitter" lately in my email. Some over-ambitious national security organization legally requests access to all accounts that behaved similarly. Q1: Can I request the who-, when-, and why-information related to this legal request from my provider? Does he have to tell me which (inter)national organizations (legally) requested my account data? Q2: Does the situation change if I live in Germany (and have a German provider)? I guess here are some German users. And I know that such a legal policy exists for our national credit rating agency. I can request who got access to my data, they have to tell me. Please answer only if you know a good answer, I don't want to start a long discussion on this none-technical question.   The problem is: when I put 2 controls of the same type on a page I need to specify different prefixes for binding. In this case the validation rules generated right after the form are incorrect. I probbly missed some steps but I cann't find them eventhough I read many tutorials, probbly since I am new in AJAX, so I need to be guided step-by-step. These are the steps I've already done: Downloading AJAX ToolKit. Adding These Controls to the ToolBox. creating new ASP.NET Website (I heard about AJAX-Enabled Option, but I dont have this option) Adding a AJAX Tool. And thats it. • Trouble adding video controls to video selected by XML comboBox

  Hello, it's been a few years since I've touched flash, so perhaps I'm just overlooking something. If anyone could look at the code and offer any suggestions that would be awesome. What's working, I select a video from a combobox that is populated from an XML file, pick the video and it plays. I've been trying to add pause/play, stop, forward and reverse functionality, once I get that to work I also want to add a video scrubber(slider), and previous/next buttons to go to the previous/next video as listed in the xml file. At the moment I have a component button on the stage called playButton, which I'm trying to use for pause/play functionality. Below is my code, the player control is at the very bottom. • Strongly Typed Controls in .NET

  I am working on a Windows Forms app for quite some time now, and I really find myself doing more typecasts in the GUI code than I ever did in my underlying business code. What I mean becomes apparent if you watch the ComboBox control that accepts some vague "object" as it's item. Then you go off and may display some DisplayMember and a ValueMember and so on. If I want to retrieve that value later I need to typecast my object back to what it was. Like with strings getting the value takes string value = (string)combobox1.SelectedItem; Since there are generics in the Framework for quite some time now, I still wonder why in the Hell not one control from the standard toolbox is generic. I also find myself using the .Tag property on ListViewItems all the time to keep the displayed domain object. But everytime I need to access that object I then need another typecast. Why cant I just create a ComboBox or ListView with items of type ListViewItem Am I missing something here or is this just another example of not perfectly well thought through controls?

• C# ASP.NET Binding Controls via Generic Method

  I have a few web applications that I maintain and I find myself very often writing the same block of code over and over again to bind a GridView to a data source. I'm trying to create a Generic method to handle data binding but I'm having trouble getting it to work with Repeaters and DataLists. Here is the Generic method I have so far: public void BindControl<T>(T control, SqlCommand sql) where T : System.Web.UI.WebControls.BaseDataBoundControl { cmd = sql; cn.Open(); SqlDataReader dr = cmd.ExecuteReader(); if (dr.HasRows) { control.DataSource = dr; control.DataBind(); } dr.Close(); cn.Close(); } That way I can just define my CommandText then make a call to "BindControls(myGridView, cmd)" instead of retyping this same basic block of code every time I need to bind a grid. The problem is, this doesn't work with Repeaters or DataLists. Each of these controls inherit their respective "DataSource" and "DataBind" methods from different classes. Someone on another forum suggested that I implement an interface, but I'm not sure how to make that work either. The GridView, Datalist and Repeater get their respective "DataBind" methods from BaseDataBoundControl, BaseDataList, and Repeater classes. How would I go about creating a single interface to tie them all together? Or am I better off just using 3 overloads for this method? Dave

  I have created a Website Project in VS2010. My Controls are not rendered correctly. The JS that is produced is not correctly formatted. • ASP.NET catching controls from html generated from the database

  I have a set of websites that basically do the exact same thing in terms of functionality, the only thing that varies is the css and how the html is laid out. Is there a way to generate the html from a database (ie retreiving the html from a table) and then catching the controls (like buttons, textboxes etc) from the code behind?
