  • How to rewrite to a virtual directory with a different application

    Hi, I have a CMS application that manages multiple websites, today whenever i change the codebehind of one of these websites - i have to rebuild the dll for all websites, deploy it - this disconnects all current sessions and is really bad. The iis is configured to listen to all domain requests, if the request is to one of the websites' domain , the application rewrites it, or example, if someone requests for http://www.example.com, and example.com is configured in the application to be website 12, it is rewritten to http://www.example.com/websites/12/default.aspx. This is done for all websites. We want to seperate the dlls of the websites from each other, and from the main CMS, we have a virtual directory to each websites, but when trying to rewrite to it, we discover that IIS support this (we get an "Could not load type '_12._Default'". error). How can we perform this rewrite so it does rewrite to virtual directories, or if anyone has any other solution for the initial dll seperation problem. Thanks in advance

    Im in the process of writing a test for a small application that follows the MVP pattern. Technically, I know I should have written the test before the code, but I needed to knock up a demo app quick smart and so im now going back to the test before moving on to the real development. In short I am attempting to test the presenter, however I cannot even get an empty test to run due to an Internal.ExpectationException. The exception is raised on a unexpected invocation of an event assignation. Here is the presenter class, public LBCPresenter(IView view, IModel model) { m_model = model; m_model.BatteryModifiedEvent += new EventHandler(m_model_BatteryModifiedEvent); } Model Interface public interface IModel { event EventHandler BatteryModifiedEvent; } And here is the test class, I can't see what im missing, ive told NMock to expect the event...   • SQL server virtual memory usage and perofrmance

    Hello, I have a very large DB used mostly for analytics. The performance overall is very sluggish. I just noticed that when running the query below, the amount of virtual memory used greatly exceed the amount of physical memory available. Currently, phsycial memory is 10GB (10238 bytes) where as the virtual memory returns significantly more 8388607 bytes. That seems really wrong, but I'm at a bit of a loss on how to proceed.   • event.stopPropagation(); doesn't behave as expected

    I read couple articles related to event.stopPropagation(); but none of the solutions provided works for me. Basically what I have is an accordion widget with all the elements collapsed by default. On each element header (dt tag) there is also a checkbox. Clicking the checkbox shouldn't trigger the accordion to make its elements expand. <dt data-toggle="collapse"> <span class="subscribe-checkbox"><button type="button" class="btn toggle-btn" data-toggle="button"></button></span> </dt> <dd> <p>Accordion content...</p> </dd> Clicking the span (which should act as a checkbox ) should add class "checked" to it. However it also expands the accordion element (dd tag). What I'm doing in jQuery is: $('.accordion-group .btn.toggle-btn').click(function (event) { event.stopPropagation(); }); While the accordion content isn't shown ( which is good) the element doesn't change class either, so it doesn't become 'checked'.   • JPanel not listening to key event when there is a child component with JButton on it

    I'm working on a map editor for my college project. And I had a problem that the map panel is not listening key event while it should. This happens when I add a ToolBarPane (which extends JPanel) with JComponent such as JButton, JComboBox that implements ActionListener on it AND the map panel (which extends the JPanel) together on to the Frame (I used BorderLayout). I have System.out.println statement to test if the key press is received, and it's not printing, if I remove the ToolBar, the key listener works again, so is the mouseListenner is disabled just like the keyListener, which means I can't handle press events etc, but the mouseListener works fine and I can still handle mouse move event. Here is a screen shot how it works without the ToolBarPane http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/3232/sampleku.png note that you can use the mouse to put images on the map, you can also select images using the mouse just like a laser tool, and by pressing number key you can switch between different images, this works fine until I add the ToolBarPane which shows like this: img291.imageshack.us/img291/8020/failve.png (please add http before that, i can only post one hyperlink) (I can't post images here cuz im a new user) With the ToolBarPane on I was no longer able to handle the key event. I guess it might by that the focus as been transfered to that panel somehow, but not sure at all. Does and body know this and can help me out? Thanks very much

  • Network Services disabled (not starting) on Windows XP

    I am currently running Windows XP Service Pack 3 on my system. But today, when I failed to connect to the internet, via a LAN cable, I realized that almost all of the vital network services had stopped functioning. Any attempts to start it through services.msc gives me the following message: Could not start the DNS Client Service on Local Computer Error 1068: The dependency service group failed to start All my software or services that are related to networking have stopped functioning, for example, Windows Firewall is turned off permanently, so is my Avast Anti-Virus' service of Real Time Shields and Web Shield. When I insert the LAN wire into my laptop, it registers itself, but this is what I get when I do a ping localhost C:>ping localhost Unable to contact IP driver, error code 2 Moveover, with ipconfig I get this : Windows IP Configuration An internal error occurred: The request is not supported. Please contact Microsoft Product Support Services for further help. Additional Information: Unable to query host name On some further poking around, I saw that none of the "NETWORK SERVICE" process in task manager, except svchost.exe were running. Also, when I first opened the task manager, I saw some 20 processes running with username column empty for most of them. With some search in Google, I found out that these services were important, DHCP DNS Net logon Network connection Network location Awareness TCP/IP Net BIOS Helper none of them, except Network Connections are working, they do not start. The event viewer of my system shows a bunch of 7000 and 7001 event errors. I have tried re installing the network driver, booting in safe mode with networking and tried to enable those services mentioned above. I had disabled System Restore some time back, so I have no restore points for my system. I tried a lot of things from Google searches but none of them worked. Also, with such a long list of issue, I am a little confused as to what should I search on the internet. :( One more thing I would like to mention, previous morning, my anti-virus Avast detected a RootKit buried deep in my system folders. It was removed, but maybe this was a problem caused by the root kit. I did run a boot-time scan but no viruses were found. Please please please advice. Is formatting and re-installation of Windows my only option?

  • Using virtual fields in Doctrine_Query

    Is there a way to insert logic based on virtual fields into a Doctrine_Query? I have defined a virtual field in my model, "getStatus()" which I would ultimately like to utilize in a Where clause in my Doctrine_Query. ... ->AndWhere('x.status = ?',$status); "status", however, is not a column in the table it is instead computed by business logic in the model. Filtering the Collection after executing the query works in some situations, but not when a Doctrine_Pager is thrown in the mix, as it computes it's offsets and such before you have access to the Collection. Am I best off ditching Doctrine_Pager and rebuilding that functionality after modifying the Doctrine_Collection?

    I have this function that gets the fileData as a byte array and a file path. The error I am getting is when it tries to set the fileInfo in the code bewlo. And the error message is 'E:/WEBS/webapp/default/images/mains/myimage.jpg' is a physical path, but a virtual path was expected. Also, what it is triggering this to happen is the following call properties.ResizeImage(imageName, Configurations.ConfigSettings.MaxImageSize, Server.MapPath(Configurations.EnvironmentConfig.LargeImagePath));

  • Pure virtual destructor in interface

    Hello all. Here is my problem. I'm making C++ dll, which extensively relies on instance object exports. So i return my actual instances as a pointers to interface through some exported factory method. Interfaces i use are purely virtual, to avoid linking problame. So i need a pure virtual destructor too, and i implemented one (with empty body, as i googled it). All compiles perfectly well, except... I can't see, if the actual destructors are called or not - because when i added some std::cout << "hello destructor"; i never get to see it. I have some explicit "delete obj", that's not the problem. Am i missing something? Is there another way to delete my object through interface?

  • Core jQuery event modification problem

    I am attempting to overwrite a core jQuery event, in this case the keydown event. My intention is to preventDefault() functionality of Left(37), Up(38), Right(39) and Down(40) to maintain the consistency of hot keys in my web application. I am using the solution provided here for the conditional charCode preventDefault problem. For some reason, my function overwrite is simply not firing, and I cannot put my finger on the problem. I am afraid that over the past 30 minutes this issue has resulted in some hair loss.   • How to Prevent PostBack Event Handler from Firing

    I have a custom class (ServerSideValidator.vb) that validates user input on server side (it doesn't use any of the .NET built in validators, therefore Page.Validate() is not an option for me). I am calling the Validate() method on page.IsPostback event and the class performs without any problem My issue is, when validation fails (returns false), I want to stop the postback event handler from firing, but load the page along with all the controls and user-input values in them. If I do, Response.End(), the page comes up blank. I can programmatically instruct the page to go to the previous page (original form before postback), but it loses all user-inputs. I thought of creating a global boolean variable in the page code behind file and check the value before performing any postback method, but this approach takes away from my plan to provide all functionalities inside the class itself. The page object is being referenced to ServerSideValidator. Seems like all the postback related properties/variables I come across inside Page class are 'Readonly' and I can't assign value(s) to control/prevent postback event from firing. Any idiea on how I can accomplish this? Please let me know if you need further details

    I have a Ubuntu server which I want to be my continous integration server (for the Zend Application based projects) and the staging server as well. The team is pushing source files to the repository: /home/git/repositories/testing.git Then Hudson does the build, and the master branch is exported (maybe cloned is a better word) by git hudson plugin to: /var/lib/hudson/jobs/test/workspace/ The workspace contains .git folder as well, which is not necessary on my staging website. How do you set up virtual host to see the staging version of the content of the repository? Does the virtual host point to the workspace, or shall I export the files to another directory? What about the permissions and security? Hudson is the owner of all the workspace files. Do I have to do some post-build actions to set up access? P.S. If this question is more apropriate to serverfault, please migrate.

    When it comes to virtualization, I have been deliberating on the relationship between the physical cores and the virtual cores, especially in how it effects applications employing parallelism. For example, in a VM scenario, if there are less physical cores than there are virtual cores, if that's possible, what's the effect or limits placed on the application's parallel processing? I'm asking, because in my environment, it's not disclosed as to what the physical architecture is. Is there still much advantage to parallelizing if the application lives on a dual core VM hosted on a single core physical machine?

  • Completed Event not triggering for web service on some systems

    Hi, This is rather weird issue that I am facing with by WCF/Silverlight application. I am using a WCF to get data from a database for my Silverlight application and the completed event is not triggering for method in WCF on some systems. I have checked the called method executes properly has returns the values. I have checked via Fiddler and it clearly shows that response has the returned values as well. However the completed event is not getting triggered. Moreover in few of the systems, everything is fine and I am able to process the returned value in the completed method. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have tried searching around the web but without any luck :( Following is the code..     Just a really quick question here. I'm using virtual functions to read in from a text file. Now, it's virtual because in one aspect I want the values to be normalised, and, in the other respect I don't want them to be normalised. I have tried to do this: bool readwav(string theFile, 'native'); So in theory, if the 'native' is used, this method should be called, however, if 'double' is called then a different version of the method is called. Same for if the value is empty, it should just perform the native option. First question, why doesn't the declaration above work? Also, is this the best route to go down? Or, would it be better to have just one class method that switches between the options. Thanks :)

    I would like to use Esper to generate episodes of events. I am trying to detect the changes in robot movement during each time period and was wondering what would be the best way of implementation. The rules for generation of episodes from the events would be If the new event time(eg. 7sec, robot A) of a robot is more than 3 sec than the latest event(eg. 3 sec, robot A) of the same robot, the new event belongs to a new episode. Each episode should represent only one robot (eg. 2sec, robotA and 3sec, robotB should output 2 episodes) Input data: Event Time Robot Position 1 1 A 0 2 2 A 1 3 6 A 2 Output data should be: Array[0]={Event 1,Event 2} Array[1]={Event 3} //more than 3 sec Input data: Event Time Robot Position 1 1 A 0 2 2 A 1 3 4 B 0 4 6 A 2 Output data should be: Array[0]={Event 1,Event 2} Array[1]={Event 3} //different robot Array[2]={Event 4} Please help provide suggestions. I have tried using mulitple listeners, one for each robot, to create episodes and it works but I am trying to use a single EPL statement to do it. I have tried win:time_accum(3sec) group by robot but the second example output: Array[0]={Event 1,Event 2, Event 4} Array[1]={Event 3} as the time window is shifted everytime an event comes in, the system still thinks that event 4 is less than 3 sec due to event 3. how do I create a unique time window for each robot?   • jQuery .die isnt killing an attached event?

    Hi I've just started experimenting with .live and .die and having some great results but one thing isn't working. I've been tinkering with firebugs console to try out my written code live to see if i can figure out the reason why .die isn't killing off an attached event. First if i do this //attach ajax submission $('a[href$=edit]').live("click", function(event) { $.get($(this).attr("href"), null, null); return false; }); Then as expected when I click on a link the ajax fires off and my server side code injects a form for inline editing. But sometimes I want to disable this behaviour and also make the link unclickable so I do the following //unbind ajax form creation when we click on a link, then disable its semantic behaviour $('a[href$=edit]').die("click").click( function(){ return false; } ); which works but if then try to remove this and restore that ajax goodness with the code below it doesn't work, Instead the link remains unclickable. I cant figure out why?   • ASP .NET Dynamically adding EventHandlers to button on Page_Load. EventHandler's do not fire the fir

    Background: I am customizing an existing ASP .NET / C# application. It has it's own little "framework" and conventions for developers to follow when extending/customizing its functionality. I am currently extending some of it's administrative functionality, to which the framework provides a contract to enforce implementation of the GetAdministrationInterface() method, which returns System.Web.UI.Control. This method is called during the Page_Load() method of the page hosting the GUI interface. Problem: I have three buttons in my GUI, each of which have been assigned an Event Handler. My administration GUI loads up perfectly fine, but clicking any of the buttons doesn't do what I expect them to do. However, when I click them a second time, the buttons work. I placed breakpoints at the the beginning of each event handler method and stepped through my code. On the first click, none of the event handlers are triggered. On the second click, they are triggered. Any ideas?
