• how did i break :method -> :delete

  i refactored my entire application and gave it a whole new design. The one thing that seems to be broken is all the original link_to methods I had which were :method = :delete are now getting sent as a GET request. The only thing I did that I can remember that might cause it is delete jquery-rails from the gemfile (I'm just getting it from google ajax). Does anyone have any other ideas what I could have deleted?

• Difference between macros and functions in C in relation to instruction memory and speed

  To my understanding the difference between a macro and a function is, that a macro-call will be replaced by the instruction in the definition, and a function does the whole push, branch and pop -thing. Is this right, or have I understand something wrong? Additionally, if this is right, it would mean, that macros would take more space, but would be faster (because of the lack of the push,branch and pop instructions.), wouldn't it?

  The Core Data Programming Guide talks a lot about what not to overwrite. So the question is: What is good to overwrite? Like I see it, I can't overwrite -init or -initWithEntity:insertIntoManagedObjectContext: So where else would be a good overwrite point to set up some basic stuff? Or is it generally not needed to do custom initialization? Does the whole thing rely only on accessing properties which then start to do fancy things? So no custom initializations?

  Hello, I've been playing today with stored procedures. I'm stoned that I picked the basic of it up so easily. (I'll also try triggers very soon). Now, I'd like to know how to save my SPROC under the stored procedure folder (Programmability - Stored Procedure) so that I can access it by name (eventually from my C# application).   Hi, I'm using ruby to sort an array where each element in the array is another array. I have this: Data = Data.SortBy { |Info| info[3] } example data in this column: 3.1 2 5.65 -1 0.4 -9.43 -10.87 -2.3 It should sort this into: 5.65 3.1 2 0.4 -1 -2.3 -9.43 -10.87 But it comes out like this: 5.65 3.1 2 0.4 -1 -10.87 -2.3 -9.43 It's only comparing the first char of the float... not the whole number?

  I have a dictionary: D = { "foo" : "bar", "baz" : "bip" } and I want to create new dictionary that has a copy of one of it's elements k. So if k = "baz": R = { "baz" : "bip" } what I'v got now is: R = { k : D[k] } But in my case k is a complex expression and I've got a whole stack of these. Caching k in a temporary looks about as ugly as the original option. What I'm looking for is a better (cleaner) way to do this.

  Is it possible? Run a cvs diff in terminal at the project root that outputs only modified files (like local files that aren't in source control and local modified files). I'm running cvs diff --brief but I still have too many results since my project is large, and with a lot of subdirectories - it shows the whole hierarchy and I just want to know which files are different from HEAD revision. I'm using Linux.

  I am aware that the follow will show a hand cursor: component.mouseChildren = true; component.useHandCursor = true; component.buttonMode = true; When I do the above on a List component, the hand button is shown and the whole component loses it's interactivity (Hand cursor is shown even on scrollbars). So how can I show the hand cursor only when rolling over the list items?
