Why I am getting type error undefined from my jquery from my php json?

Cross-Browser jQuery text-zoom implementation

I've got some code to increase/decrease font size. This is giving me a headache because each browser seems to implement the $.css('font-size') differently (see jquery bug). The part that's really killing me, though, is that Firefox is scaling up okay, but when I use the scale down function below, it scales up. Webkit & IE are both working as expected. Any ideas on that? Browser loading strategy, <head>...<body>

I am inspecting some interesting behaviors of browser, I don't know it's in standard or not. If I put everythin inside <head></head>, the browser will only begin to render the page after all the resouces in head is retrieved. So I am thinking that put as little as possible things into head is one of the important website optimization techniques, is it right? My question is: If I put script/css in body or other parts of the html, how can I know that script has been loaded successfully so that I will not be calling a undefined function?

How to get SQL Server Date in its native format?

I need to get a Date from an SQL Server Database (SQL Server 2000), the date is stored as such: 2009-09-30 00:00:00.000 I want to pass this date into a Classic ASP function to use this date in the Database somewhere else, however when I get the date, it converts in my ASP code to a locale-dependant version, such as: 30/09/2009 I just want the date as-is as formatting the date so it is correct again seems unnecessary, although if this the only way then fine - is there any way to treat it as string data so it stays like that, so it can be inserted back into the database as the same date, without needing conversion?

I am trying to get a list of values within a div that I will format later using the .each() method. R has a qr() function, which performs QR decomposition using either LINPACK or LAPACK (in my experience, the latter is 5% faster). The main object returned is a matrix "qr" that contains in the upper triangular matrix R (i.e. R=qr[upper.tri(qr)]). So far so good. The lower triangular part of qr contains Q "in compact form". One can extract Q from the qr decomposition by using qr.Q(). I would like to find the inverse of qr.Q(). In other word, I do have Q and R, and would like to put them in a "qr" object. R is trivial but Q is not. The goal is to apply to it qr.solve(), which is much faster than solve() on large systems.

xslt dropdown problems

I have a page with two drop down boxes created in a xslt. I am using onchange in both blocks to call a javascript function. If both drop downs are loaded on the page only the first drop down has a working onchange. I checked the view source code and it shows both onchange events. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? ex: two drop downs, select first one, it refreshes, select second it does nothing, select first one and it still refreshes. code removed.

Having issues when trying to insert an ajax response which is an html block into an element on IE 8

Hello Everyone just like my title states, I am having issues with IE8 and innerHTML. For whatever reason, when I make an ajax call which returns an html block and try to insert it into an element using innerHTML, the browser gives me an error "Unknown Error Code: 0". The interesting part of this is that, if the message response does not have html element, innerHTML works. My code is like so: setTimeout(function() { element.innerHTML = context.response.message; }, 1000).bind(context) WORKS: context.response.message = 'String'; Does not WORK: context.response.message = '<p>String</p>';

Batch file search and replace using wildcards I have a html (txt) file I am using as a template or sourcefile to create further html files. Filename = pg_0001.htm and it contains a line of code thus: pg_0001.jpg I want to parse the pg_0001.htm sourcefile, increment and replace the jpeg string, like this: "pg_0002.jpg", and then output the edited htm file to a new filename pg_0002.htm I then take each newly created file (pg_0002.htm, pg_0003.htm etc) as the sourcefile and repeat the processing until I have reached my target goal (let's say 100 newly created htm files containing code to display the corresponding jpeg. It must be done this way (fileX.htm containing fileX.jpg) because there is other javascript that uses these incremented filenames as function input. I used to know how to write incrementing batch files many years ago but I'm old & very rusty now. Can anyone please help me do this? Many thanks in advance. regards Harry

EASY: How does one release memory correctly in the attached C array?

Inside the HTML that calls this JavaScript code I find myself in need of knowing if a certain function from helpers.js has been called. I have attempted to create a global variable by defining: var myFunctionTag = true; In global scope both in my HTML code and in helpers.js. So it is impossible even to load the page the first time... Therefore I would like to change my code so that I can handle each row as a single entity, with its own refresh period. So when the user first loads the page, he sees n rows (one per device) with the ajax loader image... then an update cycle should start independently for each row, so that the user sees data gathered from each database... then ajax loader when the script is trying to retrieve data, then the gathered data once it has been collected or an error message stating that it is not possible to gather data since hour xx:yy:zz. So rows updating should be somewhat independent from the others, like if each row updating was a single closed process. So that rows updating is not done sequentially from the first row to the last. I hope I've sufficiently detailed my problem. Currently I feel like I am at a dead-end. Could someone please show me somewhere to start from?

Database Abstraction & Factory Methods

I'm interested in learning more about design practices in PHP for Database Abstraction & Factory methods. For background, my site is a common-interest social networking community currently in beta mode. Currently, I've started moving my old code for object retrieval to factory methods. However, I do feel like I'm limiting myself by keeping a lot of SQL table names and structure separated in each function/method. Questions: Is there a reason to use PEAR (or similar) if I dont anticipate switching databases? Can PEAR interface with the MySqli prepared statements I currently use? Will it help me separate table names from each method? (If no, what other design patterns might I want to research?) Will it slow down my site once I have a significantly large member base?

List replies in a winform

In my C# app I get an xml from a server that contains some replies like in a forum thread (with elements like author, time, body, title, whatever). When I get this xml, I create a new form in which i want to display these replies, and a little text box with an "add reply" button. I'd also like some edit buttons on perhaps my own replies in the reply list displayed in the form. The simplest way that came to my mind to display the replies is to put a web browser control in the form, generate a full html page in a string from the xml, and throw it in that web browser control. And under it i can put the text box with the add reply button. Everything is ok, except that i have no idea of how i could implement the edit function on my own replies (i mean i could add a link in there... but link to what) I would like to know if there is a way to get that edit event from the web browser control (my guess is i can't) or another (maybe simple/easy) idea of displaying the replies in a winform using other controls

The plugin enables the moving of DOM objects in realistic ways using velocity, gravity, wind etc. However I want to use the plugin to calculate where objects are to be placed inside a canvas element, not DOM objects.
