• FullCalendar: Change agendaDay background-color..

  While I have seen this question asked, I haven't seen the answer. Basically, I just want to be able to color the background-color of the TD from a certain range.. Say I have my calendar that has slot minutes every 15 minutes and from 9am to 9pm, I would like to only color differently 10am to 3pm. This information would be coming from a feed but that is not an issue. I haven't found the TDs relating to a set time inside the calendar. Perhaps I missed something? :) I am rather new to jQuery and fullCalendar. Also, another quick question that is unrelated to the main one: is it possible from an event handler to get the id of the calendar that launched it? I have multiple calendars on my page to simulate something like a Gantt view. This will let me be able to fetch the right feed and populate the right events. Thank you for your time.

• A good web 'desktop' JavaScript, CSS, or both, library that likes ASP.NET Web Forms

  I've come across, in passing, several suites of functions, widgets, frameworks, etc. that seek to produce a desktop like experience on the web. Most are JavaScript and CSS tools that handle web content on an emulation of the desktop-paradigmed UI, e.g. TreeView + Content == Explorer. Is there such a library nicely compatible with ASP.NET Forms without weeks of grief? I'll also settle for something similar, but instead of native ASP.NET, a library for any of the open source CMS products for ASP.NET. (Umbraco is at the top of my list, followed by mojoPortal. I aspire to the level of coding their creators easily demonstrate in the product. [PS, I don't want a 'desktop' ux per se, just light and simple dynamic layout for drag 'n drop, dock windows, a dock bar?.. and other fancy magic.

  Hi All, i am new to the web development environment, having came from a unix/c environment. i've been recently asked to create a web app, which i thought would require postgresql, java/j2ee, and javascript for the client interface. as i had wanted a nicer gui, i've been reading up on extjs, which looks really nice to me. a colleague mentioned that the time needed time needed to learn all these various pieces is time consuming, and Jdeveloper seems to provide most of what we'd need (i was shown a demo, which appears to be able to generate some nice web interfaces). what are the pros and cons with the different approaches ? some i can think of: - jdeveloper is an integrated ide, which creates UI easily, tightly integrated with database. (pro) - jdeveloper will be heavier? (con) - wizard generated code may be harder to refactor ? • Is this the correct way of speaking to a "Content Manager" Class?

  I am creating a silverlight site. I am currently breaking out my ideas into pieces of functionality. One of the idea's I have is the concept of a content manager. This is essentially a UI control with 4 regions. Top, Bottom, Right & Left. I also have a collection of objects that are considered "Menu Items". These are controls that function as a way to navigate around, similar to links. The idea I have is to implement an IMenuItem interface. Among the standard pieces of information (Text, PageReference, etc) I was also going to hold a reference to the content manager. My idea behind this thinking is that I can pass the PageReference to a property on the ContentManager and then call a method which knows how to update the content manager accordingly. Is this the best way of implementing this or is their some sort of pattern for it?

• swfobject in Uploadify not working with IE 7 or 8

  I am using Uploadify and have a pop up which is loaded by jQuery by Ajax. The page on which the popup lives on has an include to swfobject (from Google's Code Api) and the Uploadify button should appear. This works great on FF and Chrome but IE gives me a javascript error Unknown runtime error line 4 character 5942 Anyone got any ideas how to fix this problem?   I'm using jQuery to POST an Id to my route, for example: http://localhost:1234/Load/Delete with a POST Parameter Id = 1 I'm only using the default route in Global.asax.cs right now: routes.MapRoute( "Default", "{controller}/{action}/{id}", new { controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = "" } ); When I perform the POST, in my ActionFilter filterContext.RouteData.Values["Id"] is set to the default value of "". Ideally, I'd like it to use the POST Parameter value automatically if the URL comes up with "". I know it is posting properly because I can see the value of "1" in filterContext.HttpContext.Request.Params["Id"]. Is there a way to get RouteData to use a POST parameter as a fall back value?

  Why is the unit test useful when the view is not unit testable in MVVM? In MVVM, we have the models, view-models, and views. The claimed advantage is that MVVM can make the models and view=models unit testable. But all the three parties belong to the same application. If the views are not unit testable, why test the other two? Will unit testing the other two and leave one not tested improve the quality? Removing all the code-behind from the views sounds weird to me. How about the code-behind only handles the pure UI operations?

• Page.ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptBlock problem in chrome, not registering

  Hello! I am using Page.ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptBlock to register a variable that tells the site to show something for the user (Don't need to get in to what is show). I am going to try to use RegisterStartupScript instead and see if i get any other result, i will get back on that. In my site i use jquery to look for that variable and do something if it exists. This works very well in IE 6,7,8 & FF but not in Chrome. In Chrome it works sometimes but most of the time it does not work, the variable does not get inserted on the page. The variable is beeing inserted in the Page_PreRender. Someone that has got a workaround for this or have experienced the same problem? Thanks

I setup shiro plugin with wildcard realm, with my own tables. I may use permission based (rather tan role based) access control as it scales well. Now, the steps for it. assign the permission string to the subject, and save it in the db check the permission through isPermitted, hasPermission (or relevant tags in GSP). Now, 1. when to use the accesscontrol through filter? 2. is there a closure injected into the controller where I can define the permission for the actions in it? 3. How do I create a typical access control scenario like only the creator of (something, a post etc) can delete it? thanks a lot.. Babu.

• Adding rows to UItableview and passing data between Viewcontrollers

  I have a list of websites in a plist, when the app loads this populates a tableview (which is inside a navigation controller) But I have added an add button to the navigation bar and then created another View Controller to deal with inputting of the new website (Like Title and URL). It is very similar to how the contacts app looks. There is a table view and when you tap add, the add UI slides up. I have got all this working great so far. My Problem is what happens when the user taps Done. I can add the website to the plist (each website is a dictionary in the plist with 2 keys, atm) But then how do I tell the tableView to update? The table view has not been removed from the main window, just the add view has been added on top of the "screen". Another way of asking is, when you tap Save on Add a Contact screen: (not my image) How does the new contact's data (Xyz's data) get shown on the tableview?

• Programmatically change the default code page in Windows XP? (from Delphi)

  Could anyone advise how to programmatically change the default Windows XP code page (I'm doing this from Delphi)? (This would be the equivalent of going into Control Panel - Regional Settings - Language for non-Unicode applications). In this case, I want to switch to Chinese (PRC) and so am writing to the following registry strings: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Nls\CodePage\ ACP=936 MACCP=10008 OEMCP=936 (Which is exactly what changing the non-Unicode codepage drop down in Control Panel does). There must be another setting which I need to change - and I'd prefer to use a Win API call (if available) rather than writing to the registry myself. I've also tried setting HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Nls\Language\ Default=0804 (Chinese PRC) to no avail. I don't want to change the 'locale' per se as this will also change time / date settings, separators, etc. etc. This is because I'm using an ANSI application that needs to render Chinese characters, and I'm writing a tool to automatically switch the system show the characters (while leaving other aspects of the UI intact). • Posting a form and redirecting to action ASP.NET MVC

  I have a navigation bar that uses JQuery to move between 4 stages of signup process. However I need to make sure everything is working with JS disabled. So I have these 4 link images at the bottom of the page and I need so that if one is clicked it posts to the current action so I can save all the form data and then redirect to the next stage. The redirect is easy enough as I will just pass a parameter in the route or form but I don't know how to post the method using just action links. I could put 4 different submit buttons with different classes for the image backgrounds etc but this feels wrong. Any ideas?

• android app working on simulator but not on phone

  i have this app that i developed and it works great on the simulator with no errors what so ever. but the moment i try to run the same on the phone for testing, the app crashes stating filenotfoundexception. it says the file /res/drawable/divider_horizontal.9.png is missing. but actually speaking, i have never referenced that file through my code. i believe its a system/os file that is unavailable. i have a custom list view, i guess its the divider there... could somebody please suggest what is wrong here. i believe this is a similar issue discussed here..but i am unable to make   I am trying to navigate to an MVC action by POSTing rather than GETting. (The action is a DELETE, and I don't want it reachable by an external link.) I am using a link in a grid generated by Ajax.ActionLink("Remove", "Delete", new { saID = Model.Said, id = e.id }, new AjaxOptions { HttpMethod = "POST", Confirm = "Are you sure you want to delete this item?" }) Which generates the following HTML: <a href="/Equipment/Delete/102424/229933" onclick="Sys.Mvc.AsyncHyperlink.handleClick(this, new Sys.UI.DomEvent(event), { insertionMode: Sys.Mvc.InsertionMode.replace, confirm: 'Are you sure you want to delete this item?', httpMethod: 'POST' });">Remove</a> My problem is that when I click on the link, I am reaching the Delete action via a GET rather than a POST, AND the Confirm dialog is not taking place. I have been googling this for several hours and just keep getting wrapped around the axle. What am I doing wrong?

• How do I use the iPhone Simulator in 3.2 (not iPad Simulator)

  I'm fixing my app to be a universal binary. Testing on the simulator seems to default to the iPad. For small corrections like checking orientations and small UI updates, the only way I can find to get the iPhone version is to plug in my iPhone and build and run on device. Loading the debugger takes valuable time, when running on simulator is so much faster for this kind of work. Can I set the simulator to default to iPhone for this? Setting it to 3.1.3 doesn't work because of the 3.2 code I have in the binary for the iPad.

• Dynamically creating GWT screens using Metadata?

  I have an AWT applet application that needs to be ported over to GWT. The applet screens are described in meta data and the applet renders each screen dynamically using reflection. We'd like the same thing in GWT/ExtGWT. I've built a working version of this ExtJS whereby the metadata is turned into ExtJS Screen configs in the form of JSON. The drawback with this approach is the "wiring" of controls to data needs to be written in Javascript. GWT is preferred since it'd be all Java code, no JS. Upon digging in it's possible to render the screens using GWT off the metadata using GWT.create(). The problem I'm having is the wiring to hook a dynamically created button for example to an event handler requires reflection which is not supported in GWT. Is this conclusion correct? and if so, are there any other ways to achieve this type of dynamic UI using ExtGWT?

• What components of your site do you typically "offload" or embed?

  Here's what I mean. In developing my ASP.NET MVC based site, I've managed to offload a great deal of the static file hosting and even some of the "work". Like so: jQuery for my javascript framework. Instead of hosting it on my site, I use the Google CDN Google maps, obviously "offloaded" - no real work being performed on my server - Google hosted jQueryUI framework - Google CDN jQueryUI CSS framework - Google CDN jQueryUI CSS framework themes - Google CDN So what I'm asking is this, other than what I've got listed... What aspects of your sites have you been able to offload, or embed, from outside services? Couple others that come to mind... OpenAuth - take much of the authentication process work off your site Google Wave - when it comes out, take communication work off of your site

• How to avoid "The name 'ConfigurationManager' does not exist in the current context" error?

  I am using VS2008. I have a project connect with a database and the connection string is read from App.config via ConfigurationManager. We are using L2E. Now I added a helper project, AndeDataViewer, to have a simple UI to display data from the database for testing/verification purpose. I don't want to create another set of Entity Data Model in the helper project. I just added all related files as a link in the new helper project. When I compile, I got the following error: Error 15 The name 'ConfigurationManager' does not exist in the current context C:\workspace\SystemSoftware\SystemSoftware\src\systeminfo\RuntimeInfo.cs 24 40 AndeDataViewer I think I may need to add another project setting/config related file's link to the helper project from the main project? There is no App.config file in the new helper project. But it looks I cannot add that file's link to the helper project. Any ideas?

  I am looking for a lightweight php framework with the following qualifications: ability to write my own sql queries ( i simply don't trust CakePHP like method where the framework does your sql for you); ability to integrate Jquery easily; built-in templating, or relatively easy to introduce Smarty (or another templating engine) into it; MVC; fast Any advice/comparison? i have looked into CodeIgniter, Symfony and CakePHP so far. Symfony is slow, and CakePHP is too inaccessible ...so far my choice would be CodeIgniter. I played with it a bit, but i would like to hear more experiences. I am looking for a framework that will "enforce" organization of my app in a logical way - MVC seems like a great choice.

• Why doesn’t ABPersonViewController show any properties besides the name?

  For some reason, ABPersonViewController is unwilling to display any properties aside from the name, no matter what properties are set for it to display. I’m unable to use the AddressBookUI controllers to let a user select a contact to display, since my UI has custom requirements, otherwise I’d go that route (as Apple does in their sample project.) • Spring MVC - Cannot map request parameters as a Map parameter in method?

  What I want to do is passing a map to the method in Controller using @RequestParam, but it seems not working. While this is working in Struts 2. • CrossPost access to data

  Hi, I have a search form on a page that posts back to itself and shows the results, all works fine. I now have a requirement to put the same search form on the site home page. This needs to post back to the search form and run the findResults code. Using the PostBackURL parameter on the home page form's submit button I can hit the search page ok. However, when using the following code in the Page_Load section of the search page I hit the problem of not being able to access data from the posting page as I get the following error message on the line starting "yearList.SelectedValue....": "'Site._default1.Protected WithEvents yearList As System.Web.UI.WebControls.DropDownList' is not accessible in this context because it is 'Protected'". • NSStepper ignores current NSTextField value

  I have the same initial problem as described in Integrate NSStepper with NSTextField: I need to have a NSTextField working with a NSStepper as being one control so that I can edit an integer value either by changing it directly on the text field or using the stepper up/down arrows. Using bindings as commented on by carlosb results in a usable UI. However, in the initial question carlosb describes the following: Problem is that if I edit the text field then click the stepper again it will forget about the value I manually edited and use the stepper's internal value. This is why I am posting a variation on this question again. carlosb's use of bindings doesn't solve this problem. This happens in both the current project I am working on and a test project I have created. The test project can be found at GitHub. You can download it there (even without git) via the "Download Source" button in the top right. Is there a clean way to solve this issue?
