    In Windows, I can set the processor affinity of driver code using KeSetSystemAffinityThread, and check which processor my code is running on using KeGetCurrentProcessorNumber. I'm trying to do something similar in a Linux kernel module, but the only affinity calls I can see are for userland processes. Is there any way to do this, so that I can run assembly code on a specific processor? (i.e. sgdt)

    Hi, I installed Ubuntu 10.04 on a usb stick in persistent install mode. So I could boot the laptop or my desktop computer with the stick, at boot time. Once I needed the 8GB stick for another purposes so I thought about coyping it to my desktop doing from mac os x: dd if=/dev/disks3s of=/Users/jack/Desktop/usb_copy Now I am trying to do the opposite, after having used the stick, which was formatted to NTFS, just doing dd if=/Users/jack/Desktop/usb_copy of=/dev/disks3s but although I can see that almost of the files are there, I can not boot again. IT is also strange the the file permissions are kind of strange, something like _user What can I do ? Thanks

So, i have a application that displays tasks and i created an option in the Settings menu that lets you choose in how many days all (Never, 10 days, 20 days or 30 days) these tasks should be automatically deleted. So when i open up the app there will be a method that will be called and check if theres any tasks to be deleted. I did that to challenge myself, but i'm hitting the wall with my head and i cant come up with something. So here i am in need of help! A little more information: i was trying to do something with java/android code, but from past searches i saw people dealing with it using SQL functions. Is it better? Thanks in advance guys!

I'm showing you the problem because it's difficult to explain: matched = ~/.tcsh glob(matched, 0, NULL, &pglob); glob put all matched files in a char ** and when I print it I have: case[0] = .tcshrc case[1] = I should have .tcshrc~ in case[1], but nothing =S, I've seen a flag "GLOB_TILDE" like this " glob(matched, GLOB_TILDE, NULL, &pglob); But it doesn't change anything! Can someone help me?

But, today I do not see this option. More over, I do not think I have a solution file, and I think that has something to do with it. I'm aware there are web application projects and web site model, and web site model is basically just a "directory". But can web site model, also, have a solution file for this setting or not a solution file? What determines that? I am interested in using this method on on a web site, i.e directory only model.

The url format is like this: /purchase.php?cDd=1&transaction_id=xxxxxxx&verify=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx=&method=creditcard&type=purchase transaction_id= is populated with a sept of numbers verify= is populated by a string of numbers, letters in both caps and lower case Basically I would like to only match URLs which finish by "&method=creditcard&type=purchase" I have tried to just put &method=creditcard&type=purchase but it does retrieve other URLs too Would anyone has any ideas

    we were working on our sandbox trying to get the facebook like button set up for our site. Like an idiot, I set our sandbox URL as the domain. Here's the question: is there any going back once I've done this? I tried to reset the domain but it doesn't seem to have taken. And, here's a related question: if i just go and make a like button (iFrame version) it spits out an app_id as part of the code. If that app_id isn't hooked up to an actual application w/domain, will it work after we move it to our QA server and then on to production? Or will it, once we've tested on our sandbox, establish the sandbox as it's domain and then we're back where we started? We can't change code once it moves on to QA, it's just bad form...so what do I do?

  • Bash PS1 settings - how to get the current folder back as the terminal title

    Hi all. I recently added these lines to my ~/.bashrc file to show the current branch if i'm in a git working folder, and it works nicely for that. However, what i've lost is that the current folder name used to be shown in the tab for the terminal i have open, and now it isn't: it always just says 'Terminal'. Can i get that back and still keep the git stuff? Here's the lines in question - it's the second one that's the issue, as commenting out just the second line fixes the problem. source /etc/bash_completion.d/git PS1='\h:\w$(__git_ps1 "\[\e[32m\][%s]\[\e[0m\]")$ ' I've been looking at explanations of the options for PS1 but can't see anything about the terminal window's title in there.     Hi! I have a smart client application being deployed with a CickOnce webpage. here's the current scenario. User runs the application, and the application shows a login form. User enters ID/Password in the login form, and the application sends that information to the server. The server authenticates the user and sends configuration and data to the application. Different users have different configuration and data for their application. I was concerned that anyone can download the application from the webpage if they know the URL. So I'm trying to change the authentication scheme, so that users can login at the webpage to download the application. I want to send the authentication info from the webpage(Program running at the server) to the smart client app, so that application can download the configuration information from the server, without prompting users to make a login again. How can the webpage send the ID/Passoword to the application securely?
