  To ensure that my scientific analysis is reproducible, I'd like to programmatically check if there are any modifications to the code base that aren't checked in, and if not, print out what commit is being used. For example, if there are uncommitted changes, it should output Warning: uncommitted changes made. This output may not be reproducible. Else, produce Current commit: d27ec73cf2f1df89cbccd41494f579e066bad6fe Ideally, it should use "plumbing", not "porcelain".

  Hi, I'm needing to dynamically display the title of a node within a block. I would have thought this would be simple, but all the code snippets I've tried don't seem to work (e.g. <?php print $node->title; ?> ) I've checked and tested that the PHP input format is on and working with other PHP bits and bobs, and everything seems OK. Any ideas?

• Protocol error in TDS stream

  What are the possible causes of this type of error - "[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Protocol error in TDS stream"? And how can this be fixed? My application runs in C++ calling stored procedures implemented in SQL Server. There's this one SP (containing select and update statements) that causes this problem, after which all succeeding queries will return that the cursor is in an invalid state. I've checked the SP but I don't see any possible problem.

I checked Qt, wxWidgets, and GTK+. Is there an example of a GUI toolkit (written in any language) that uses composition instead of inheritance to separate the various widgets?

• Reading HTTP server push streams with Python

  I'm playing around trying to write a client for a site which provides data as an HTTP stream (aka HTTP server push). However, urllib2.urlopen() grabs the stream in its current state and then closes the connection. I tried skipping urllib2 and using httplib directly, but this seems to have the same behaviour. Is there a way to get the stream to stay open, so it can be checked each program loop for new contents, rather than waiting for the whole thing to be redownloaded every few seconds, introducing lag?

• Iframe Facebook application and cookies [Internet Explorer]

  I have downloaded the IBM P3P editor, created files and uploaded them to my server. And cookies are still not recognized in Internet Explorer. I've checked the P3P validation tool and it seems to validate. The application can be viewed here: apps.facebook.com/naplesnews and the iframe points to www.naplesnews.com/facebook/app/. Again www.naplesnews.com/facebook/app/ seems to validate with no issues as well. Any idea what I'm missing here?

Each time a cell is found to be open and added to the stack, I want it added to a list of cells already checked. I want to be able to say in the if loop if(thisCell is not in checkedCells).   Hi, I have a war file and when deploying it thro the admin console in websphere i am getting the following error after specifying the war file location and the context-root. The EAR file might be corrupt or incomplete. org.eclipse.jst.j2ee.commonarchivecore.internal.exception.DeploymentDescriptorLoadException: WEB-INF/web.xml Any suggesstions to resolve this issue?
