• Enable Query Strings in Code Igniter

  Hey, I am trying to implement Twitter's OAuth into my Code Igniter web application at which the callback URL is /auth/ so once you have authenticated with Twitter you are taken to /auth/?oauth_token=SOME-TOKEN. I want to keep the nice clean URL's the framework provides using the /controller/method/ style of URL but I want to enable query strings as well, there will only ever be one name of the data oauth_token so it's ok if it has to be hard coded. Any ideas? I have tried tons of the things people are saying to do, but none work :( PS: I'm using the .htaccess method of URL rewriting.

• Using Regex to remove Carriage Returns in a CSV file in Notepad++

  I have a CSV file I need to clean up. This is a one-time thing so I'd like to do it in Notepad++ if possible. The CSV file has two fields, one of which is wrapped in quotes. I'd like to remove any Carriage Returns from within the quoted field. I was trying to use this pattern but can't get it quite right... (.*)\"(.*)\n(.*)\"(.*) Also correct me if I am wrong, but I presume the "replace with" value would be something along the lines of: \1\2\3\4 Thanks in advance. I'm also open to alternate solutions such as a quick and dirty PERL script.

• Tmp issues with java service on windows 2008 service

  Hello! I am having a rather nasty problem with windows 2008 server. We have a java application that is running as a service using the local services user. The problem is this user does not have access to read/write to the specified java tmp directory (specified by the system). This means that every time the application tries to create a tmp file an IOException is thrown. Is there any way to make a java application that need access to the tmp directory run as a service without: Creating a new user specifically for the purspose Specifying a new tmp directory (which you will have to clean up yourself)

• HAML-like syntax for non-HTML documents?

  I love using HAML for HTML documents. It has clean syntax that's much more attractive than ERB. It works perfectly for HTML documents. What about for non-HTML? Such as, for example, an email or text document with certain automatically-substituted components? I've been falling back to ERB, but don't like the heavy syntax compared to HAML. Is there any way to use HAML for ordinary documents without having divs and html elements appear when % and . start a line? Or is there some alternative to both HAML and ERB that I should investigate?

• compiler warning on (ambiguous) method resolution with named parameters

  One question regarding whether the following code should yield a compiler warning or not (it doesn't). It declares two methods of the same name/return type, one has an additional named/optional parameter with default value. NOTE: technically the resolution isn't ambiguous, because the rules clearly state that the first method will get called. See here, Overload resolution, third bullet point. This behavior is also intuitive to me, no question. public void Foo(int arg) { ... } public void Foo(int arg, bool bar = true) { ...} Foo(42); // shouldn't this give a compiler warning? I think a compiler warning would be kind of intuitive here. Though the code technically is clean (whether it is a sound design is a different question:)).

• Getting rid of a dangling changeset after rebase in mercurial

  Hi, I did a hg update --force <repo> to get another seemingly unrelated repository into the current one. Afterwards I merged the first changeset of the other repo (to get renamings "right"). A rebase of the other repository starting from the second changeset left the first changeset (here: revision 5431) dangling in the repository: o changeset: 5433:68c67c7e0bbb | o changeset: 5432:331ee440893a |\ | | | o changeset: 5431:1023b4c44f18 | o changeset: 5430:15aff858ec36 To clean things up I'd like to get rid of revision 5431. • Referencing Excel Sheets with JET Driver Sheets Are Duplicated with Underscores

  I'm referencing an excel document with the JET database driver, which was working just fine until one day the application failed. Upon further investigation I noticed that the tabs were duplicated in some instances (all tabs actually) - i.e. Tab1$ and Tab1$_. I've researched this issue and found that it is caused by the user applying a filter. Now the filters have been removed, no special formatting, frozen panes, or print formats, but still I have these tabs duplicated. Normally I'd code around this, but since we're in a code freeze I need to come up with an Excel based solution. I want to get rid of those crazy underscored tab names / reverences. I could probably run a program to clean up the file if necessary, to send it back to the users, but I want to explore Excel options first. Thoughts? I have Excel 2010, and access to any other version as well.

• qmake -project command gives QFileInfo warning in Qt 4.6

  I've upgraded to Qt 4.6 on my Mac (OS 10.5). When I go to a project directory and run: qmake -project Qt returns this warning (although it doesn't say it's a warning, I assume it is since the .pro file gets created anyway): QFileInfo::absolutePath: Constructed with empty filename I did a completely new install thinking that the "upgrade" wasn't clean for whatever reason, it still does it. Any ideas as to why? • Best way to get record counts grouped by month, adjusted for time zone, using SQL or LINQ to SQL

  I'm looking for the most efficient way to suck out a series of monthly counts of records in my database, but adjusting for time zone, since the times are actually stored as UTC. I would like my result set to be a series of objects that include month, year and count. I have LINQ to SQL objects that looks something like this: public class MyRecord { public int ID { get; set; } public DateTime TimeStamp { get; set; } public string Data { get; set; } } I'm not opposed to using straight SQL, but LINQ to SQL would at least keep the code a lot more clean. The time zone adjustment is available as an integer (-5, for example). Again, the result set what I'm looking for is objects containing the month, year and count, all integers. Any suggestions? I can think of several ways to do it straight, but not with a time zone adjustment.

  Should the HTML5 database be used to store any form of private information? Say we have the following scenario; You're browsing a web-mail client, that uses the web database to store mail drafts after you've written some information you close the web browser. What's to stop me from getting access to this information? If the webpage tries to clean out old information when opened a user-script could easily prevent the website from fully loading and then search through the database. • How to catch exceptions from another program (for logging)?

  I am working on a tool that monitors a number of applications and ensures they are always running and in a clean state. Some of these applications have unhandled exceptions which do occur periodically and present the 'send crash report' window. I do not have the source code to these applications. Is there any mechanism I could use to catch the exceptions, or simply identify their exception type, as well as identify the application's main executable file that threw the exception. I'm not trying to do anything crazy like catch and handle it on the applications behalf, I'm simply trying to capture the exception type, log it and then restart the application.

• iOS Facebook SDK: FBRequestDelegate only works on AppDelegate??

  Hi guys, I want to encapsulate all my Facebook interactions within a FacebookFacade class to keep things clean and tidy. I have an instance of the iOS SDK Facebook class within my FacebookFacade. My problem is that when I make a Graph API call within the facade, such as: [self.facebook requestWithGraphPath:@"me" andDelegate:self]; the only method of FBRequestDelegate that gets called is requestLoading: and nothing else. I have tried putting similar code in other places, like in controllers and other models, and there too not all of the FBRequestDelegate methods get called, only requestLoading:. In fact the only way I can get the other FBRequestDelegate methods to be called is to put all my Facebook logic in the AppDelegate and make my AppDelegate the FBRequestDelegate. Why is this the case? Am I missing something here? I definitely do not want to use the AppDelegate as my FBRequestDelegate as I don't want to confuse the purpose of the AppDelegate. Thanks.

• Eclipse Java EE - Galileo - Unable to view plugins

  I am new to Eclipse so I am having a hard time troubleshooting this problem. I have a new installation of Eclipse Java EE - Galileo on Windows, and I am unable to see any changes made in the IDE after installing plugins. I have verified that the plugins are installed via installation details, but see no changes made. For example, after installing the maven integration plugin m2eclipse I go to File-New-Project ... and I have no option for maven. After installing the QuickRex plugin I have no view for it etc. I have tried re-installing the plugins, re-installing Eclipse, and starting Eclipse with the -clean option, but nothing has resolved the issue. Any ideas? Thanks!

• Strategies for generating Zend Cache Keys

  ATM i'm manually generating a cache key based on the method name and parameters, then follow to the normal cache pattern. I want to avoid the duplication of parameters to the cache creation method and also to the model method, so i'm thinking of moving the caching logic away from my controller class and into model class packaged in './model/DbTable', but this seems incorrect since the DB model should only handle SQL operations. Any suggestions on how i can implement a clean patterned solution?

• Git + Capistrano = Automatic Release Notes Generator ?

  We use git (github) and capistrano (like 99% of the Rails shops out there) to deploy our app to production. What I'd like to do is, after every cap * deploy generate a text file containing all the git commit comments since the last deploy. I can then take that list of commit comments, clean it up, and put it somewhere for consumption. "git log" http://book.git-scm.com/3_reviewing_history_-_git_log.html has plenty of options for fetching log messages, but I don't see an easy way in capistrano to return the current and previous commits, or even the last date/time a deployment occurred, so I can pass that to git log Thoughts? I can't be the first one doing this... Thanks!

  As noted by the title, what is the best way to configure an IIS 6.0 deployment of an ASP.NET MVC application such that connections to hidden shares are ignored? The application in question is using wildcard mapping to allow for clean URLs since we are planning on upgrading to IIS 7.0 in the near future and we are also handling the caching and compression issues with a custom library so we would like to avoid turning wildcard mapping off unless absolutely necessary.   Hi to all, in this question i asked how to split text by whitespace, now i split it, but now i can't display this text in QTextEdit. I make so: QStringList list = line.split(QRegExp("\\s+")); for (int i = 0; i < list.count(); i++){ table.push_back(list[i]); this->ui->textEdit->setText(table[i]); //output text in qtextedit } But i see clean textedit after that. But if i make for example: this->ui->textEdit->setText(table[2]); I see third word in QTextEdit. What's wrong? Thank you.

  I've got a string like this: #################### Section One #################### Data A Data B #################### Section Two #################### Data C Data D etc. I want to parse it into something like: $arr( 'Section One' => array('Data A', 'Data B'), 'Section Two' => array('Data C', 'Data D') ) At first I tried this: $sections = preg_split("/(\r?\n)(\r?\n)#/", $file_content); The problem is, the file isn't perfectly clean: sometimes there are different numbers of blank lines between the sections, or blank spaces between data rows. The section head pattern itself seems to be relatively consistent: #################### Section Title #################### The number of #'s is probably consistent, but I don't want to count on it. The white space on the title line is pretty random. Once I have it split into sections, I think it'll be pretty straightforward, but any help writing a killer reg ex to get it there would be appreciated. (Or if there's a better approach than reg ex...)

  I'm trying to clear the div's innerHTML before repopulating it. I tried removeData() but once that's called, when I try to add the data, I get nothing from the next line after remove whereas if I remove the removeData() it's fine again. I just want to clear out any previous content in that div before I re-populate it. divToUpdate.removeData(); //clean out any existing innerHTML div content first divToUpdate.html(data); It looks like it never gets to my divToUpdate.html(data) for some reason after it calls that removeData();

• System.Diagnostics.Debugger.Debug() stopped working

  I'm working on a program which uses the System.Diagnostics.Debugger.Break() method to allow the user to set a breakpoint from the command-line. This has worked fine for many weeks now. However, when I was working on fixing a unit test today, I tried to use the debug switch from the command-line, and it didn't work. Here's what I've tried: I've confirmed that the Debug() method is really being called (by putting a System.Console.WriteLine() after it) I've confirmed that the build is still in Debug I've done a clean build I've restarted Product Studio A quick Google search didn't reveal anything, and the API documentation for .Net doesn't mention anything about this function not performing correctly. So... any ideas?

  How can I use grails domain classes (which is in groovy) in service layer which is in Java/Spring. When using the grails MVC, everything is fine as I can use controller to access domain objects and call CRUD and other dynamic methods on them. But, what I am wondering is is there a clean way to do it from Java - say the service layer. For example, I may want to develop a reporting framework where I need to use domain objects to access the DB. I Hope the question is clear. This should be a standard problem that everybody must have faced in a reasonably sized project. I am just wondering how it is solved..maybe I am missing something here. thanks.

• C++ boost or STL `y += f(x)` type algorithm

  hello. I know I can do this y[i] += f(x[i]) using transform with two input iterators. however it seems somewhat counterintuitive and more complicated than for loop. Is there a more natural way to do so using existing algorithm in boost or Stl. I could not find clean equivalent. here is transform (y = y + a*x): using boost::lambda; transform(y.begin(), y.end(), x.begin(), y.begin(), (_1 + scale*_2); // I thought something may exist: transform2(x.begin(), x.end(), y.begin(), (_2 + scale*_1); // it does not, so no biggie.   I have a git alias (git undo) that undoes everything in the working directory, including new files, changed files, and deleted files: !git reset --hard && git ls-files -d | xargs -0 git rm --ignore-unmatch && git clean -fq On OS X, this works great. On Linux, however, I run into the following issue: if no files have been deleted from the repository, the git ls-files -d | xargs -0 git rm --ignore-unmatch command will fail (xargs will be passed nothing). Is there a way to have xargs silently move on if it receives nothing from git ls-files?

• Build path error in eclipse for android

  Hi, whenever I do a Clean on my project, I get 2 errors: 1.) the project is missing gen folder. 2.) there is a build path error. I go to "Configure build path" and uncheck "Android 1.6". It works. If I do thsi again , i go and this time check "Android 1.6". It again works. Can anyone please tell me why this is happening. Thanks
