• nunit-console.exe problem with Mono

  I could make a dll for NUnit (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2967726/nunit-test-under-mono), but when I tried to run in with nunit-console.exe I get the following error message. • TFS webtest for SSRS reports issue

  I am creating webtests in TFS and trying to test reports execution in SSRS. When I record the initial process, it includes Reserved.ReportViewerWebControl.axd files. These files are what is causing the problem. When I remove the files, the report does not display, however if I keep the AXD files in it works fine. The problem with keeping the AXD files is the reportsession querystring variable that are included. If I run the report after a bit the reportsession has obviously changed. Any help is appreciated.

  I have a client application developed in .net seding a request to wcf service and supposed to send reponse .if execution time with in 1 minute,there is no error,if it exceeds 1 minute the error is Inner exception: This request operation sent to net.tcp://localhost:18001/PitToPort/2008/01/30/StockpileService/tcp did not receive a reply within the configured timeout (00:01:00). The time allotted to this operation may have been a portion of a longer timeout. This may be because the service is still processing the operation or because the service was unable to send a reply message. Please consider increasing the operation timeout (by casting the channel/proxy to IContextChannel and setting the OperationTimeout property) and ensure that the service is able to connect to the client how to increase the time out and how?What is the best solution.

• Spring 3 Controller Exception handler implementation problems

  I was hoping to implement a single "ExceptionController" to handle exceptions that are thrown in execution of my other controllers' methods. I hadn't specified any HandlerExceptionResolver in my application context so according to the API documentation the AnnotationMethodHandlerExceptionResolver should be started. Verified as such in the source. So I am curious to know why the following isn't working. @Controller public class ExceptionController { @ExceptionHandler(NullPointerException.class) public ModelAndView handleNullPointerException(NullPointerException ex) { // Do some stuff log.error(logging stuff) return myModelAndView; } } @Controller public class AnotherController { @RequestMapping(value="/nullpointerpath") public String throwNullPointer() { throw new NullPointerException(); } } I see in the debug logs that the three default exception handlers are asked for handling of the exception, but nothing is done and I see "DispatcherServlet - Could not complete request". Followed by the user being displayed the stacktrace and a 500 Internal error.

• Differences between Django ugettext and ugettext_lazy

  I keep rereading the Django's internationalization documentation and still don't understand when and why should I use django.translation.ugettext_lazy as opposed to django.translation.ugettext? I understand that using ugettext_lazy means that I will deffer from translating the string until the very end. Is it because Django parses the Accept-Language request header or the request.URL for the language code very late during the execution, which would mean that I may not be targeting the user's preferred language code if I was using ugettext? Would that ultimately mean that I should only use ugettext if I want to enforce that the message gets explicitly translated to the language specified in settings.LANGUAGE_CODE, or the currently active language as per django.translation.get_language()?

  Hi We got a problem with NUnit 2.5.3: nunit-console.exe does not return after finishing all tests. The process hangs forever. Example: All tests succeed, but it keeps doing something. • Handle Arbitrary Exception, Print Default Exception Message

  I have a program, a part of which executes a loop. During the execution of this loop, there are exceptions. Obviously, I would like my program to run without errors, but for the sake of progress, I would like the program to execute over the entire input and not stop when an exception is thrown. The easiest way to do this would be by implementing and except block. However, when I do this, it excepts all exceptions and continues with the program and I never get to see the exception message (which I need in order to debug). Is there a way to except any arbitrary exception and be able to print out the exception message in the except block?

• Accessing Google Spreadsheets with C# using Google Data API fails with Mono

  I'm trying to access my Google spreadsheets using the GData API. I have followed the example which looks like: var service = new SpreadsheetsService("myTest"); service.setUserCredentials(username, password); var query = new SpreadsheetQuery(); var feed = service.Query(query); This should return a feed with a list of spreadsheets. However this fails with: Google.GData.Client.GDataRequestException: Execution of request failed: http://spreadsheets.google.com/feeds/spreadsheets/private/full --- System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found. When I try the above link directly in my browser I'm able to download the feed, as long as I'm logged in into my Google account. Some further information: I'm not behind a firewall I have checked my username (maurits.rijk at gmail.com) and password several times I am using Mandriva in VirtualBox on a MacBook All my code is compiled with Mono I tried the same functionality in Java on OS-X. That code runs as expected.

• Java: ArrayList bottleneck

  Hello, while profiling a java application that calculates hierarchical clustering of thousands of elements I realized that ArrayList.get occupies like half of the CPU needed in the clusterization part of the execution. The algorithm searches the two more similar elements (so it is O(n*(n+1)/2) ), here's the pseudo code: int currentMax = 0.0f for (int i = 0 to n) for (int j = i to n) get content i-th and j-th if their similarity > currentMax update currentMax merge the two clusters So effectively there are a lot of ArrayList.get involved. Is there a faster way? I though that since ArrayList should be a linear array of references it should be the quickest way and maybe I can't do anything since there are simple too many gets.. but maybe I'm wrong. I don't think using a HashMap could work since I need to get them all on every iteration and map.values() should be backed by an ArrayList anyway.. Otherwise should I try other collection libraries that are more optimized? Like google's one, or apache one.. Thanks

  Is there a way to store a conversion strategy (for converting some bytes) into a database and then execute it on the run time. If one were to store a complete java file, you would need to compile it, store the class and some how inject into the already running system. I am not sure how this would be possible. But using some kind of dynamic language on JVM would be nice. I see an example of execution of groovy from within spring context here http://www.devx.com/tips/Tip/42789 but this is still static in nature as application context contains the reference to the implementation and cannot be changed by database. Perhaps with JavaConfig of context it is possible. I am exploring options now, specifically with Spring 3.0. Your suggestions in any direction would be welcome.

  I'm building a custom WPF control that derives from TabControl. In the ControlTemplate, I'm using a ItemsControl to display a list that is being bound from the template (an observable collection of type FileMenuItem). During program execution, I'm getting the following error in the output window: ItemTemplate and ItemTemplateSelector are ignored for items already of the ItemsControl's container type; Type='FileMenuItem' The type FileMenuItem is derived from MenuItem. I googled the error and couldn't find anything about it, has anyone run into this while developing custom controls? I can post more code if it would help. Thanks!

  I have a large set of values V, some of which are likely to exist in a table T. I would like to insert into the table those which are not yet inserted. I have a few related questions: Is there a way to construct a select statement such that you provide a list (in this case, 'values') to which sqlalchemy responds with records which match that list? Is this code overly expensive in constructing select objects? Is there a way to construct a single select statement, then parameterize at execution time?

On a test page without an update panel, the code PeopleEditor1.CommaSeparatedAccounts = "domain\\user.account"; works just fine. As soon as I add an update panel around that people editor the picker's text area gets cleared out and future calls to the above snippet are ignored. • application: didFinishLaunchingWithOptions doesn't execute, but RootViewController: viewDidLoad does

  I'm playing around with the iPad SplitView template and it was working fine before I started swapping out view objects in my RootViewController. When it was working fine, the application:didFinishLaunchingWithOptions method would be called and would setup my persistant store objects, then the RootViewController:viewDidLoad method would be called to populate my rootView with data from my store. I opened up IB and started swapping out view objects in my RootView and now the application:didFinishLaunchingWithOptions method never gets called, but the RootViewController:viewDidLoad method still does. Obviously, the app crashes because the viewDidLoad method depends on the successful execution of the didFinishLauchingWIthOptions method to setup the persistent store objects. Does anyone have any thoughts on what is causing this or how I can go about investigating what's causing this? I'm obviously new to iPhone OS development, so I apologize if this questions is absurd in any way. Thanks so much in advance for your help!

• Delphi 2010 buttons losing click event

  I've been experimenting a quite strange problem using Delphi 2010. In one form (a quite complex one) some buttons are automagically losing the click event. I am not dynamically assigning the event or something (they are wired in IDE). The events are fired OK some times but suddenly (and randomly) some of them don't fire the events anymore. Placing a break point in the event doesn't stop the execution. Weird, yes, and I'm lost. I know there is no explanation for this so I only want to ask if there is anybody else experimenting the same problem.

• Problem with the nonresponding threads

  Hello there, I have a web application which runs multiple threads on button click each thread making IO call on different ipAddresses ie(login windows account and then making file operations). There is a treshold value of 30 seconds. I assume that while login attempt if the treshold is exceeded, device on ipAddress does not match my conditions thus I dont care it. Thread.Abort() does not fit my situation where it waits for the IO call to finish which might take long time. I tried doing the db operations acording to states of the threads right after the treshold timeout. It worked fine but when I checked out the log file, I noticed that the thread.IsAlive property of the nonresponding threads were still true. After several debuggings on my local pc, I encountered a possible deadlock situation (which i suspect) that my pc crashed badly. In short, do you have any idea about killing (forcefully) nonresponding threads (waiting for the IO opreation) right after the execution of the button_click?   I was unable to find any reference to this in the documentations... Is assigning to a double (or any other simple type, including boolean) an atomic operation viewed from the perspective of threads? double value = 0; public void First() { while(true) { value = (new Random()).NextDouble(); } } public void Second() { while(true) { Console.WriteLine(value); } } In this code sample, first method is called in one thread, and the second in another. Can the second method get a messed up value if it gets its execution during assignment to the variable in another thread? I don't care if I recieve the old value, it's only important to receive a valid value (not one where 2 out of 8 bytes are set). I know it's a stupid question, but I want to be sure, cause I don't know how CLR actually sets the variables. Thanks

My problem is that I can't seem to get an UpdatePanel to work properly with a CheckBox inside of it. • Segmentation fault on MPI, runs properly on OpenMP

  Hi, I am trying to run a program on a computer cluster. The structure of the program is the following: PROGRAM something ... CALL subroutine1(...) ... END PROGRAM SUBROUTINE subroutine1(...) ... DO i=1,n CALL subroutine2(...) ENDDO ... END SUBROUTINE SUBROUTINE subroutine2(...) ... CALL subroutine3(...) CALL subroutine4(...) ... END SUBROUTINE The idea is to parallelize the loop that calls subroutine2. Main program basically only makes the call to subroutine1 and only its arguments are declared. I use two alternatives. On the one hand, I write OpenMP clauses arround the loop. On the other hand, I add an IF conditional branch arround the call and I use MPI to share the results. In the OpenMP case, I add CALL KMP_SET_STACKSIZE(402653184) at the beginning of the main program and I can run it with 8 threads on an 8 core machine. When I run it (on the same 8 core machine) with MPI (either using 8 or 1 processors) it crashes just when makes the call to subroutine3 with a segmentation fault (signal 11) error. If I comment subroutine4, then it doesn't crash (notice that it crashed just when calling subroutine3 and it works when commenting subroutine4). I compile with mpif90 using MPICH2 libraries and the following flags: -O3 -fpscomp logicals -openmp -threads -m64 -xS. The machine has EM64T architecture and I use a Debian Linux distribution. I set ulimit -s hard before running the program. Any ideas on what is going on? Has it something to do with stack size? Thanks in advance

  Just a quick question: There's the entity (for example User) who is connected with the ManyToMany relationship to the same entity (for example this relation describes "friendship" and it is symmetric). What is the fastest way in terms of execution time to check if User A is a "friend" of user B? The "dumb" way would be to fetch whole List and then check if user exists there but that's obviously the overhead.
