Jquery star rating plugin and cancel rating button

Using this plugin: http://www.fyneworks.com/jquery/star-rating/#tab-Testing I have a simple callback function that picks up the id from the radio buttons: <input type="radio" class="auto-submit-star {split:2}" id="myid" value="1" /> $('.auto-submit-star').rating({ callback: function(value, link){ alert($(this).attr('id')); } }); This works fine, but if the user clicks on the cancel button, then it can't read the id of it. In the js, I think the cancel button is added dynamically with: control.cancel = $('<div class="rating-cancel"><a title="' + control.cancel + '">' + control.cancelValue + '</a></div>') If I add an id to it like this: control.cancel = $('<div class="rating-cancel"><a id="someid" title="' + control.cancel + '">' + control.cancelValue + '</a></div>') How could I read the id? This would be undefined. I can set a class and use $('.myclass').attr('id') but I will have multiple ratings on one page so I'll need something similar to "this". Or is it possible for the cancel button to pick up the id of the corresponding radio buttons?

Setting up a button to trigger both modalPopupExtender and his Click Method

Hey guys, I have this modalPopupExtender, I want it to show a CheckBoxList with some data. I have set up a button to call both the method to fill the CheckBoxes and trigger the modalPopup (TargetControlID). they're all inside an UpdatePanel. with the right triggers. The problem is that when I click the button it shows the modalPopup but doesn't load the method to fill my CheckBoxes... Also, a linkButton inside the poup (linkButtonCheckAll) just closes the popup when clicked. facebook connect button not producing pop-up

This is a really simple question, but I can't seem to find the answer. I am just getting started with Facebook Connect. I would like to use it only for user authentication, so there is no need for my users to create another account. Spinner in Android crashing when visibilty changes while handling OnClick in a button

I have a spinner in UI, which I want to hide when I handle onClick method for a button. But the application is crashing all the time. Is it that I can't use the setVisibility(View.Gone) on spinners (it is not written anywhere). If I comment it out, then application run fine. I am getting NullPointerException and I am using RelativeLayout. Jquery button.click bug?

Is FastCGI still a right answer?

FastCGI is old but it still seems like it must be the right answer in some cases. It seems like the preferred deployment of Perl/Catalyst web applications is with FastCGI. FastCGI was popular with Rails but seems to no longer be. (Why?) The Java world doesn't seem to have anything to do with FastCGI. Is something like Tomcat way better than Apache+FastCGI? Is choosing FastCGI still a good idea or just a lingering technology? Ted

Push a ViewController and It Pops Right Back

I have a view controller with a table view and a UISearchBar. When the view controller is first brought up, the table is populated. A click on a table row pushes another view controller, it animates up and then pops right back down and returns me to the table. It does this whether the search bar has been used or not. I do this push pop kind of action in several view controllers with not problem. My guess is that the UISearchBar is somehow getting in the way. Any one have any idea as to what I'm doing wrong?

TemplateField button causing GridView Invalid Postback

Invalid postback or callback argument. Event validation is enabled using <pages enableEventValidation="true"/> in configuration or <%@ Page EnableEventValidation="true" %> in a page. For security purposes, this feature verifies that arguments to postback or callback events originate from the server control that originally rendered them. If the data is valid and expected, use the ClientScriptManager.RegisterForEventValidation method in order to register the postback or callback data for validation. I currently have implemented an overlayitem that shows an icon for geopoint on a map application in Android. When the icon is clicked, it brings up an AlertDialog from the onTap method below. I have the following questions: Does anyone know how to display a map message bubble directly above the icon overlayitem with 2 callout buttons one to the left of the title and one to the right of the bubble? Does anyone know how to make the overlayitem draggable so I can press and hold it and drag it across the map. I am trying to duplicate the draggable icon behavior that's available on the iPhone. If so, please share some sample code. Assistance using respond_to to find the right actions to render PDF in ruby on rails

Hi, I am trying out Prince with the Princely plugin, which is supposed to format templates that have the .pdf into a PDF generator. Here is my controller: class TodoController < ApplicationController def show_date @date = Date.today @campaigns = Campaign.all @contacts = Contact.all @contacts.each do |contact| end respond_to do |format| format.html format.pdf do render :pdf => "filename", :stylesheets => ["application", "prince"], :layout => "pdf" end end end end I changed the routes.db to include the following: map.connect ':controller/:action.:format' map.todo "todo/today", :controller => "todo", :action => "show_date" My expected behavior is when I enter todo/today.pdf, it tries to execute show_date, but renders according to the princely plugin. Right now, it says cannot find action. What do I need to do to fix this?

Get to know what HTML-button is clicked with PHP, no Name of value available

I have a wizard with 4 steps and in one of the steps, you can add items. By default, there are 3 time 5 empty input-fields listed. When you click a button, there have to be added some more. The 3 times 5 fields are added by a loop. How can I determine where I have to add some fields (in the first 5 field of the second or the third). I can't use another name for every button, because sometimes there can be more then 3 groups of 5 fields. In my code (PHP), I use the name of the button to know what happened in the form, so the name can't be different for the button in every group ... Further, the whole step is 1 form, so the post can't go to another script ... The value of the button has to be the same for every group. I've been thinking on possible solutions and these came up: On click a javascript adds a value to the post (in a hidden field?) But is this posted with the form? Could it be possible to get the ID of the clicked button? This might be different :-) I need a refresh after the click, so pure javascript isn't a solution either ... It is a very specific question, but I hope someone can give me some direction. Right way to create [self]respawning app in python

I am using jabber bot written in python to log some MUC talks. Sometimes it drops on some network or XMPP problems. In this case I have to start it again by myself. The goal is to make it "self-respawning". I have some variants about how to do it. Bot is one process. Another process monitors its activity and starts it if bot died. Main process spawns bot subprocess and controls it. Also I think daemonizing bot process is useful here. Platform is Linux, as you could guess. What is the right way to solve this problem?

Problem with ActionScript 3.0 button to URL and root movieclip

Okay, so, here's what the problem is. I'm creating a flash site with each page being it's own movieclip and Scene 1 being the menu and other things that stay on the site. I've created a MovieClip called 'HowWorksScene'. The movieclip has 2 buttons that link out to different URLs, however, I'm sure that when 1 of the button scripts work, the same script will work for the other...so here's the problem that I'm having with the Button stop(); VidDemo_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, video); function video(event:MouseEvent):void { var link:URLRequest = new URLRequest('www.youtube.com'); navigateToURL(link); } Problem is that I cannot GET to that frame to even determine an error. The problem preventing me from getting to this point is a call function. In the "HomePage" movieclip, when the button is pressed to go to the next scene, "Homepage" fades out and flys left then the next frame is 1 frame but activates the next movieclipe "HowWorksScene"...but without errors, it simply goes to frame 17 of "Homepage". I've tried doing _root.gotoAndPlay(17); but get an undefined error. So, I guess my question is: What is the BEST way to direct from within a movieclip to a frame in the parent Scene? I've even tried using gotoAndPlay(17, "Scene 1"); And that still did not work. Please let me know ASAP!

.net difference between right shift and left shift keys

I am currently working on an application which requires different behaviour based on whether the user presses the right or left shift key (RShiftKey, LShiftKey), however when either of these keys is pressed I only see ShiftKey | Shift. Is there something wrong with my keyboard? (laptop) do I need a new keyboard driver/keyboard in order to send the different key commands maybe... This is a pretty massive problem at the moment, as there is no way of testing that the code works (apart from unit tests). Anyone had any experience of the different shift/alt/ctrl keys?

I am giving the following method call to my webview client embedded in my layout wv.loadData("<html><body bgcolor=\"Black\"></body></html>","text/html", "utf-8"); when i run this on the device, it shows a white vertical bar on the right side. How to display characters in http get response correctly with the right encoding

Hello! Does anyone know how to read c,š,ž characters in http get response properly? When i make my request in browser the browser displays all characters correctly. But in java program with apache jars i don't know how to set the encoding right. I tried with client.getParams().setParameter(CoreProtocolPNames.HTTP_CONTENT_CHARSET, "UTF-8"); but it's not working. Resume Activity with back button

I have an application I am creating with a DashboardActivity & a SettingsActivity. On the dashboard, I have one object displayed, but when I go into settings, I want to be able to select/deselect X options. Once the user clicks the back button, I save that data locally and to the server. Once the phone receives a success message from the server that it was stored properly, I want to reload the dashboard. I thought I would do this with the onPause and onResume, but they are called when the DashboardActivity is first created. What would be the best way to reload the dashboard by calling my web service after the settings were saved to the server? I am going to: 1) throw up a progress dialog box letting the user know it's being submitted to the server, and once a response is received, 2) go back to the previous activity and call the "refresh" webservice again. Python doesn't work properly when I execute a script after using Right Click >> Command Prompt Here

This is a weird bug. I know it's something funky going on with my PATH variable, but no idea how to fix it. If I have a script C:\Test\test.py and I execute it from within IDLE, it works fine. If I open up Command Prompt using Runcmd.exe and navigate manually it works fine. But if I use Windows 7's convenient Right Click on folder Command Prompt Here then type test.py it fails with import errors. I also cannot just type "python" to reach a python shell session if I use the latter method above. Any ideas?

Right recursive grammar or left recursive?

I have little to no knowledge of what I'm about to ask, so I would like a suggestion based on the level of skills required to implemented a parser for the given grammar ( since I'm a beginner in this kind of formal approach to parsers and languages ). Just by going back of a couple of years, this situation reminds me a little of Pascal grammar vs C/C++ grammar, this left vs right stuff. But I'm not going to do any of that, my purpose is to implement a simple parser for a markup language for documents like Markdown. So considering that I'm starting with a markup language in mind, I want to keep things simple, which is the easiest one to handle between this 2 options and why . Another kind of grammar could be an easier option for me ? If yes which one do you suggest ?
