• Difference between focus and focus-in(out)-event signals

  Hello What's the difference between "focus" and "focus-in(out)-event" signals in GTK+? Which one is emitted firs? How are they related to keyboard(TAB) & mouse clicks. Do they depend on each other? I'm asking this because I want to keep track of currently focused widget within toplevel window and I don't want to test HAS_FOCUS flag of every widget when I need it. The widgets I'm interested of are deep inside other containers, boxes etc. What would be the best way in this situation for keeping & updating focused widget pointer?

  Hi I would like receive an event where messageReceived does not get called within an expected time.   I have created a non-form c# program that uses the NotifyIcon class. The text "(Click to Activate)" shows up when I hover the mouse. So I am getting some events handled. • Retrieving "invalid" value from a NumericUpDown Validating event

  When the user enters a value above numericUpDown.Maximum, the control's value is automatically set to the maximum.   I have a repeater using a LinqDataSource as a data source. When a query string is entered, I'd like to filter the results, but ONLY when a query string is entered. If there is no query string, the results should not be filtered, all results should be returned. I'm trying to add a WhereParameter to my LinqDataSource in the Selecting event of the LinqDataSource, but it's not working. • custom button MouseLeave event

  Hi, I made a custom button with some panels and pictureboxes. With the MouseEnter and MouseLeave I set the appropriate hover images like normal buttons. The problem is that if I move the mouse too fast over the control it sometimes doesn't trigger the MouseLeave event.   What is the best way to get an event from a child or grandchild module up to the parent Shell? For instance, if I have a view in a module that is actually 2 levels away from the Shell, and I have a Window behavior. Is the eventaggregator really the best way to do this? it seems like overkill. I just want my MainShell to watch for a change in the IsDialogOpen Property on the ViewModels in all my child modules. I feel like I am missing the trees for the forest...

• Adobe AIR: touch screen doesn't trigger mouse down event correctly

  i have designed a gaming kiosk app in as3 i am using it on a Sony vaio l pc (like hp's touchsmarts) in windows 7 the app doesn't need any multi-touch gestures (only single touch clicks and drags) so i am using mouse events everything is fine (including mouse click and move events) except that a single touch to the screen (with no move) doesn't fire a mouse down. it is fired only after a small move of the finger outside the app, on my desktop, i see that the small windows 7 cursor jumps immediately to where a finger is placed, meaning this issue isn't a hardware or a windows problem but rather how internally the flash app receives "translated" touch-to-mouse events from the os. for example, in a windows Solitaire game, a simple touch to the screen immediately highlights the touched card. in my app, a button will change to the down state only if i touch it and also move my finger slightly (click events - down and up - are triggered fine) shouldn't the MOUSE_DOWN event trigger exactly like how a TOUCH_BEGIN would in the new touchevent class? any ideas?

  I am trying to understand an issue where event-listener registration on plugins doesn't work in Opera unless i delay them. In particular, this doesn't work: document.onload = function() { plugin.addEventListener("foo", function() { alert('onFoo'); }, false); } while delaying the addEventListener() call somewhat through e.g. an alert() does: document.onload = function() { alert('onload()'); plugin.addEventListener("foo", function() { alert('onFoo'); }, false); } It seems that plugins are only loaded after document.onload. As a non-web-developer, am i missing something simple here? Or is this a known Opera problem with a common work-around?

  I can't seem to capture the scroll event on an iPad. None of these work, what I am doing wrong? window.onscroll=myFunction; document.onscroll=myFunction; window.attachEvent("scroll",myFunction,false); document.attachEvent("scroll",myFunction,false); They all work even on Safari 3 on Windows. Ironically, EVERY browser on the PC supports window.onload= if you don't mind clobbering existing events. But no go on iPad.

  I have some ASP code that I've "inherited" from my predecessor (no, it's not an option to update it at this time...It would take an act of not only Congress, but every other foreign country too) and I'm having an issue sending mail on one of the pages. It is an almost identical code snippet from the other page, but this one throws an error when I try to 'Send'.   I have a flash site that users can view full Screen video. the trouble is, I am making only the video player full screen (hiding the rest of the site behind it). my "toggle full screen" button works in that it reduces the video player back to normal size when the user toggles out of full screen back. but when the user hits the escape key, my flash script doesn't know that the video player should be reduced in size. it seems there's no way to capture the ESCAPE key as a key event. any ideas?

  I'm looking for a way to add an EventListener which will automatically removes itself after the first time it fires, but I can't figure a way of doing this the way I want to. • An event for when xVal validation fails?

  I have a registration form leveraging xVal to handle all validation on the form. It works really well, with one exception: the user doesn't get feedback because another element on the page (a tip telling the user that their username will be their email address) draws on top of the span element xVal spits out when it notices a problem. If I had a way to detect when xVal has a problem with the email field, I could just toggle the visibility of that tooltip and be on my way, but I'm not sure how to do so. I know that xVal uses jquery.validate.js under the hood; is there an event or something I could tie into to do this?

  Hi, I have a list of 179 thumbnail images that I am trying to apply a jQuery lightbox tool to an unorder list of hyper-links. The problem I have is, the jQuery isnt firing until the images have finished downloading, each image is around 23K so on their own, not so big, but as a group this equates to around 4MB. There is a delay on IE (main browser used by clients) of a good 5 seconds before the page has completely downloaded every thumbnail and then allows the jQuery to fire. I have tried putting the jQuery document ready event in various places with no success, and only been able to put a bandaid on by setting the css on the ul to hide using display:none before applying .show() after the lightbox has applied. I was hoping there is a way to make the jQuery scripts fire before all the content has downloaded? Cheers

• getting JSlider bar to move on mouse click event

  Hi, I have a JSlider which shows bet sizes (for a poker game) I am trying to achieve the effect that when a mouse click occurs the slider jumps forward by a bet amount (i.e. a big blind amount) rather than just incrementing by one. If the mouse click happens to the left of the bar i want it to decrement by a fixed amount else increment. I looked into attaching a mouse listener, but do not know how I can use the event to find out on what side of the bar the mouse was clicked. Any ideas?
