  • Accessing E4X nodes having special characters in name without breaking binding chain in flex.

    - by Jonas
I am using E4X to bind some values from xml in flex 3. There is a problem when xml tag's (or attribute's) name has special character in it: having xml content var xml:XML = <tag> <special-name att="val" /> </tag> special-name could not be accessed using xml.special-name.@att because it is interpreted as subtraction, on the other hand using square bracket notation xml['special-name'].@att breaks binding chain. Is there an elegant way to solve this (like special language syntax) without writing custom binding setters and listeners?

  • .uploadifySettings not working as expected

    - by marcgg
I'm using uploadify and the function to change the settings doesn't seem to be working. I'm basing my code from the following example: #(‘#someID’).uploadifySettings(’scriptData’, {‘name’ : some.val()}); So here's what I'm doing: // INITIALIZATION $("#"+elementId).uploadify({ // other data "scriptData": { "token": token } }); Later on I want to update the scriptData: $("#"+elementId).uploadifySettings("scriptData",{"token": "pleasework"}); ... but this is not working, it's still using the scriptData set during the initialization. What am I doing wrong?

  • Error with default argument in Source.getLines (Scala 2.8.0 RC1)

    - by Derek
assuming I running Scala 2.8.0 RC1, the following scala code should print out the content of the file "c:/hello.txt" for ( line<-Source.fromPath( "c:/hello.txt" ).getLines ) println( line ) However, when I run it, I get the following error <console>:10: error: missing arguments for method getLines in class Source; follow this method with `_' if you want to treat it as a partially applied function Error occured in an application involving default arguments. val it = Source.fromPath("c:/hello.scala").getLines From what I understand, Scala should use the default argument "compat.Platform.EOL" for "getLines". I am wondering if I did wrong or is it a bug in scala 2.8 Thanks

  • JavaFx 2.1, 2.2 TableView update issue

    - by Lewis Liu
My application uses JPA read data into TableView then modify and display them. The table refreshed modified record under JavaFx 2.0.3. Under JavaFx 2.1, 2.2, the table wouldn't refresh the update anymore. I found other people have similar issue. My plan was to continue using 2.0.3 until someone fixes the issue under 2.1 and 2.2. Now I know it is not a bug and wouldn't be fixed. Well, I don't know how to deal with this. Following are codes are modified from sample demo to show the issue. If I add a new record or delete a old record from table, table refreshes fine. If I modify a record, the table wouldn't refreshes the change until a add, delete or sort action is taken. If I remove the modified record and add it again, table refreshes. But the modified record is put at button of table. Well, if I remove the modified record, add the same record then move the record to the original spot, the table wouldn't refresh anymore. Below is a completely code, please shine some light on this. import javafx.application.Application; import javafx.beans.property.SimpleStringProperty; import javafx.collections.FXCollections; import javafx.collections.ObservableList; • How to get a list of unchecked checkboxes when submittimg a form?

    - by SzamDev
Hi I have this code for example : $b = ""; while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($rows)) { if ($row['enabled'] == 1) { $b = "checked"; } else { $b = "": } echo ""; } When I execute this code, I will get a list of checkboxes, some of them are checked and others are not. I can use this code to get a list of checked checkboxes. if (isset($_POST['sub'])) { //check if form has been submitted or not $nam = $_POST['nam']; if (!empty($nam)) { foreach($nam as $k=>$val){ // proccess operation with checked checkboxes } } I need to know how I can get list of unckecked checkboxes after submitting the form. Thanks in advance.

  • Naming Optional Parameters in VSB

    - by SteveNeedsSheetNames
In Visual Basic, I have Functions with a lot of Optional arguments. I would like to be able to pass just a few of these Optional arguments to a Function without having to use numerous commas and spaces to get to the ones I want. Somewhere I saw a way to name params such as OptVar:=val, but that does not seem to work. Just wondering if there is a way to do this. This would help readability. Thanks in advance for the replies.

  • .net runtime type casting when using reflection

    - by Mike
I have need to cast a generic list of a concrete type to a generic list of an interface that the concrete types implement. This interface list is a property on an object and I am assigning the value using reflection. I only know the value at runtime. Below is a simple code example of what I am trying to accomplish: public void EmployeeTest() { IList<Employee> initialStaff = new List<Employee> { new Employee("John Smith"), new Employee("Jane Doe") }; Company testCompany = new Company("Acme Inc"); //testCompany.Staff = initialStaff; PropertyInfo staffProperty = testCompany.GetType().GetProperty("Staff"); staffProperty.SetValue(testCompany, (staffProperty.PropertyType)initialStaff, null); } Classes are defined like so: public class Company { private string _name; public string Name { get { return _name; } set { _name = value; } } private IList<IEmployee> _staff; public IList<IEmployee> Staff { get { return _staff; } set { _staff = value; } } public Company(string name) { _name = name; } } public class Employee : IEmployee { private string _name; public string Name { get { return _name; } set { _name = value; } } public Employee(string name) { _name = name; } } public interface IEmployee { string Name { get; set; } } Any thoughts? I am using .NET 4.0. Would the new covariant or contravariant features help? Thanks in advance.

  • How to use jquery ajax to set the content of a div, then call JS from that div

    - by devzero
I'm using JQuery to load the content of an mvc usercontroll: function menuShowModal(a) { $.ajax( { url: a.href, success: function (result) { $('#modalDialog').dialog('close'); var $dialog = $('<div id=\'modalDialog\'></div>') .html(result) .dialog({ autoOpen: true, title: 'Basic Dialog', modal: true }); }, cache: false, type: 'get' }); return false; } The returned HTML looks like this: <input type="text" id="navnet" value="test" /> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready( function () { alert($("#navnet").val()); } ) </script> The problem is that the alert returns "undefined" and not "test" as it should, in other words the JS is executed before the html is inserted, how do I work around this?

  • Protected and Private methods

    - by cabaret
I'm reading through Beginning Ruby and I'm stuck at the part about private and protected methods. This is a newbie question, I know. I searched through SO for a bit but I couldn't manage to find a clear and newbie-friendly explanation of the difference between private and protected methods. The book gives two examples, the first one for private methods: class Person def initialize(name) set_name(name) end def name @first_name + ' ' + @last_name end private def set_name(name) first_name, last_name = name.split(/\s+/) set_first_name(first_name) set_last_name(last_name) end def set_first_name(name) @first_name = name end def set_last_name(name) @last_name = name end end In this case, if I try p = Person.new("Fred Bloggs") p.set_last_name("Smith") It will tell me that I can't use the set_last_name method, because it's private. All good till there. However, in the other example, they define an age method as protected and when I do fred = Person.new(34) chris = Person.new(25) puts chris.age_difference_with(fred) puts chris.age It gives an error: :20: protected method 'age' called for #<Person:0x1e5f28 @age=25> (NoMethodError) I honestly fail to see the difference between the private and protected methods, it sounds the same to me. Could someone provide me with a clear explanation so I'll never get confused about this again? I'll provide the code for the second example if necessary.

  • JSON feed to Java Object

    - by mnml
Hi, I would like to know if there is a webpage/software that can "translate" a Json feed object to a Java object with attributes. For example : { 'firstName': 'John', 'lastName': 'Smith', 'address': { 'streetAddress': '21 2nd Street', 'city': 'New York' } } Would become: class Person { private String firstName; private String lastName; private Address address; public String getFirstName() { return firstName; } public String getLastName() { return lastName; } public Address getAddress() { return address; } public void setFirstName(String firstName) { this.firstName = firstName; } public void setLastName(String lastName) { this.lastName = lastName; } public void setAddress(Address address) { this.address = address; } public String toString() { return String.format("firstName: %s, lastName: %s, address: [%s]", firstName, lastName, address); } } class Address { private String streetAddress; private String city; public String getStreetAddress() { return streetAddress; } public String getCity() { return city; } public void setStreetAddress(String streetAddress) { this.streetAddress = streetAddress; } public void setCity(String city) { this.city = city; } public String toString() { return String.format("streetAddress: %s, city: %s", streetAddress, city); } } I'm not asking that because I'm lazy, but the JSON I would like to parse has quite a lot of attribute.

    Hi I have this code for example : $b = ""; while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($rows)) { if ($row['enabled'] == 1) { $b = "checked"; } else { $b = "": } echo "<\input name='nam[$row[id]]' type='checkbox' value='$row[id]' $b /"; } When I execute this code, I will get a list of checkboxes, some of them are checked and others are not. I can use this code to get a list of checked checkboxes. if (isset($_POST['sub'])) { //check if form has been submitted or not $nam = $_POST['nam']; if (!empty($nam)) { foreach($nam as $k=>$val){ // proccess operation with checked checkboxes } } I need to know how I can get list of unckecked checkboxes after submitting the form. Thanks in advance.

Any other workarounds. I dont know reflection(will it help in my case) Thanks, you guys gave it a try, i did not know this wud be so complex. All i wanted to do was suppose i have method like this public method1(int val) { method2(); method3(); } void method2(int val2) { method4() } i wanted to construct a string as Method1:Method2:method4 and Method1:Method3....
