  • Re-usable views or xibs for use with UIStoryboard

    I find it very convenient to use storyboards, especially to have (and show) an overview of the application. However, I also find it very annoying to replicate the same code and views without the possibility to keep at least a reusable library of the most common xibs. This is especially true with UITableView and its cell. Did some of you have had any idea or best practice to share for dealing with this issue?

I tell people to store the Unicode string Iñtërnâtiônàlizætiøn into each field and then see if it is displayed correctly on output. --- including output as a cell's content in Excel reports, in rtf format for docs, xml files, etc. What other tests should be done?

    Hi there. I have a UISearchBar in the table cell. All done in code (not in IB). When the search bar is activated I want to disable the table view are between the search bar and keyboard, so there is no way to touch and navigate out of this view. Cannot really get it working. Help please.

I'm using Coredata in my app, on first launch I download a data file and insert over 500 objects (each with 60 attributes) - fast, no problem. Each subsequent launch I download an updated version of the file, from which I need to update all existing objects' attributes (except maybe 5 attributes) and create new ones for items which have been added to the downloaded file. So, first launch I get 500 objects.. say a week later my file now contains 507 items.. I create two arrays, one for existing and one for downloaded. NSArray *peopleArrayDownloaded = [CoreDataHelper getObjectsFromContext:@"person" :@"person_id" :YES :managedObjectContextPeopleTemp]; NSArray *peopleArrayExisting = [CoreDataHelper getObjectsFromContext:@"person" :@"person_id" :YES :managedObjectContextPeople]; If the count of each array is equal then I just do this: NSUInteger index = 0; if ([peopleArrayExisting count] == [peopleArrayDownloaded count]) { NSLog(@"Number of people downloaded is same as the number of people existing"); for (person *existingPerson in peopleArrayExisting) { person *tempPerson = [peopleArrayDownloaded objectAtIndex:index]; // NSLog(@"Updating id: %@ with id: %@",existingPerson.person_id,tempPerson.person_id); // I have 60 attributes which I to update on each object, is there a quicker way other than overwriting existing? index++; } } else { NSLog(@"Number of people downloaded is different to number of players existing"); So now comes the slow part.     Hey all, i use some code for inline cell editing from Apples TaggedLocations Example and im now stuck. At the demo Code they save the changes at textFieldDidEndEditing, this works because they asume to edit only the first element in a table view. I have to edit every row at the table view, so my problem is how to get indexPath.row to update the correct object stored in a mutableArray. Or did i miss something? Thanks for your help!

The problem is that aRect is with respect to the subview in the table cell. But i want to make it so that it is with respect to self.view What i tried is this rect = [self.view convertRect:aRect.frame toView:cellView]; but it doesn't work. So how to convert it?

    Below I have the code that allows me to edit a table row inline. However it edits ALL of the TDs within that row. My problem, along with the code, are stated below. Any help is appreciated. <tbody> <tr> <th scope="row">Test</th> <td class="amount">$124</td> <td class="amount" id="" >$154</td> <td class="diff">- 754</td> </tr> </tbody> The above table is just a sample. What I have been trying to accomplish is, to simply edit the TDs within that particular row, but I need it to disregard the diff TD. I have to find number of colorings possible so that there is no monochromatic coloured (same colour) sub-rectangle whose both dimension is greater than 1 (eg - 2x2, 2x3,4x3) I have found a slightly different version of it here But they have said nothing about the algorithm. So, I am looking for an algorithm here !!
