  • C#: Sum of even fibonacci numbers

    - by user300484
    Hello you all! im developping an application that will find the sum of all even terms of the fibonacci sequence. The last term of this sequence is 4,000,000 . There is something wrong in my code but I cannot find the problem since it makes sense to me. Can you please help me? using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; namespace ConsoleApplication1 { class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { long[] arr = new long [1000000] ; long i= 2; arr[i-2]=1; arr[i-1]=2; long n= arr[i]; long s=0; for (i=2 ; n <= 4000000; i++) { arr[i] = arr[(i - 1)] + arr[(i - 2)]; } for (long f = 0; f <= arr.Length - 1; f++) { if (arr[f] % 2 == 0) s += arr[f]; } Console.Write(s); Console.Read(); } } }

  • ASP.NET file transfer from local machine to another machine

    - by Imcl
    I basically want to transfer a file from the client to the file storage server without actual login to the server so that the client cannot access the storage location on the server directly. I can do this only if i manually login to the storage server through windows login. I dont want to do that. This is a Web-Based Application. Using the link below, I wrote a code for my application. I am not able to get it right though, Please refer the link and help me ot with it... http://stackoverflow.com/questions/263518/c-uploading-files-to-file-server The following is my code:- protected void Button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { filePath = FileUpload1.FileName; try { WebClient client = new WebClient(); NetworkCredential nc = new NetworkCredential(uName, password); Uri addy = new Uri("\\\\192.168.1.3\\upload\\"); client.Credentials = nc; byte[] arrReturn = client.UploadFile(addy, filePath); Console.WriteLine(arrReturn.ToString()); } catch (Exception ex) { Console.WriteLine(ex.Message); } } The following line doesn't execute... byte[] arrReturn = client.UploadFile(addy, filePath); This is the error I get: An exception occurred during a WebClient request

  • log4net affecting other projects which don't even use it

    - by Graeme
    I'm seeing something really strange happening with some projects I'm working on. I used log4net in an MVC web site and this was working great. I then was working on a totally unrelated Console application which uses the SharePoint API and as soon as I include the following line (other lines don't cause the problem) SPLimitedWebPartManager spWebPartManager = web.GetLimitedWebPartManager("http://blah/blah.aspx?PageView=Shared", System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebParts.PersonalizationScope.Shared); I get the following message in the console app log4net:ERROR XmlConfigurator: Failed to find configuration section 'log4net' in the application's .config file. Check your .config file for the <log4net> and < configSections> elements. The configuration section should look like: <section n ame="log4net" type="log4net.Config.Log4NetConfigurationSectionHandler,log4net" / > log4net:ERROR XmlConfigurator: Failed to find configuration section 'log4net' in the application's .config file. Check your .config file for the <log4net> and < configSections> elements. The configuration section should look like: <section n ame="log4net" type="log4net.Config.Log4NetConfigurationSectionHandler,log4net" / > I get this twice after a small delay. The delay is probably the request to get the web part manager from the page but I'm not sure why this log4net error is showing up in this project. I've gone through the code and bin folders etc. and found no trace of any log4net mentions. Any ideas why this might be happening?

  • C# Interop with dll

    - by Jim Jones
    Using VS2008 C# am attempting to interop a C++ dll. Have a C++ class constructor: make_summarizer(const char* rdir, const char* lic, const char* key); Need to retain a reference to the object that is created so I can use it in a follow-on function. When I did this in JNI the c code was: declare a static pointer to the object: static summarizer* summrzr; Then in one of the functions I called this constructor as follows: summrzr = make_summarizer(crdir, clic, ckey); Where the parameters all where the requisite const char* type; So in C# using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.Runtime.InteropServices; using System.Configuration; namespace SummarizerApp { class SummApp { private IntPtr summarzr; public SummApp() { string resource_dir = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["resource_dir"]; string license = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["license"]; string key = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["key"]; createSummarizer(resource_dir, license, key); } [System.Runtime.InteropServices.DllImportAttribute("lib\\summarizer37.dll", EntryPoint = "#1")] public static extern IntPtr make_summarizer( [InAttribute()][MarshalAsAttribute(UnmanagedType.LPTStr)] string rdir, [InAttribute()][MarshalAsAttribute(UnmanagedType.LPTStr)] string lic, [InAttribute()][MarshalAsAttribute(UnmanagedType.LPTStr)] string key); public void createSummarizer(string resource_dir, string license, string key) { try { this.summarzr = make_summarizer(resource_dir, license, key); } catch (AccessViolationException e) { Console.WriteLine(e.Message); Console.WriteLine(e.StackTrace); } } Have also tried using IntPtr created using Marshal.StringToHGlobalAnsi(string). Regardless I get a AccessViolationException on the line where I call the native constructor; So what am I doing wrong? Jim

  • Can someone please explain this lazy evaluation code?

    - by Tejs
    So, this question was just asked on SO: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2740001/how-to-handle-an-infinite-ienumerable My sample code: public static void Main(string[] args) { foreach (var item in Numbers().Take(10)) Console.WriteLine(item); Console.ReadKey(); } public static IEnumerable<int> Numbers() { int x = 0; while (true) yield return x++; } Can someone please explain why this is lazy evaluated? I've looked up this code in Reflector, and I'm more confused than when I began. Reflector outputs: public static IEnumerable<int> Numbers() { return new <Numbers>d__0(-2); } For the numbers method, and looks to have generated a new type for that expression: [DebuggerHidden] public <Numbers>d__0(int <>1__state) { this.<>1__state = <>1__state; this.<>l__initialThreadId = Thread.CurrentThread.ManagedThreadId; } This makes no sense to me. I would have assumed it was an infinite loop until I put that code together and executed it myself.

  • .NET 4 RTM MetadataType attribute ignored when using Validator

    - by bart
    I am using VS 2010 RTM and trying to perform some basic validation on a simple type using MetadataTypeAttribute. When I put the validation attribute on the main class, everything works. However, when I put it on the metadata class, it seems to be ignored. I must be missing something trivial, but I've been stuck on this for a while now. I had a look at the Enterprise Library validation block as a workaround, but it doesn't support validation of single properties out of the box. Any ideas? class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { Stuff t = new Stuff(); try { Validator.ValidateProperty(t.X, new ValidationContext(t, null, null) { MemberName = "X" }); Console.WriteLine("Failed!"); } catch (ValidationException) { Console.WriteLine("Succeeded!"); } } } [MetadataType(typeof(StuffMetadata))] public class Stuff { //[Required] //works here public string X { get; set; } } public class StuffMetadata { [Required] //no effect here public string X { get; set; } }

  • XML deserialization doubling up on entities

    - by Nathan Loding
    I have an XML file that I am attempting to deserialize into it's respective objects. It works great on most of these objects, except for one item that is being doubled up on. Here's the relevant portion of the XML: <Clients> <Client Name="My Company" SiteID="1" GUID="xxx-xxx-xxx-xxx"> <Reports> <Report Name="First Report" Path="/Custom/FirstReport"> <Generate>true</Generate> </Report> </Reports> </Client> </Clients> "Clients" is a List<Client> object. Each Client object has a List<Report> object within it. The issue is that when this XML is deserialized, the List<Report> object has a count of 2 -- the "First Report" Report object is in there twice. Why? Here's the C#: public class Client { [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlArray("Reports"), System.Xml.Serialization.XmlArrayItem(typeof(Report))] public List<Report> Reports; } public class Report { [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlAttribute("Name")] public string Name; public bool Generate; [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlAttribute("Path")] public string Path; } class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { List<Client> _clients = new List<Client>(); string xmlFile = "myxmlfile.xml"; System.Xml.Serialization.XmlSerializer xmlSerializer = new System.Xml.Serialization.XmlSerializer(typeof(List<Client>), new System.Xml.Serialization.XmlRootAttribute("Clients")); using (FileStream stream = new FileStream(xmlFile, FileMode.Open)) { _clients = xmlSerializer.Deserialize(stream) as List<Client>; } foreach(Client _client in _clients) { Console.WriteLine("Count: " + _client.Reports.Count); // This write "2" foreach(Report _report in _client.Reports) { Console.WriteLine("Name: " + _report.Name); // Writes "First Report" twice } } } }

  • user input question

    - by jdbeverly87
    My program checks to test if a word or phrase is a palindrome (reads the same both backward and forward, ex "racecar"). The issue I'm having is after someone enters in "racecar" getting it to actually test. In the below code, I marked where if I type in "racecar" and run, Java returns the correct answer so I know I'm right there. But what am I missing as far as entering it into the console. I think my code is ok, but maybe I have something missing or in the wrong spot? Not really looking for a new answer unless I'm missing something, but if possible perhaps a pro at this moving my code to the correct area bc I'm stuck! `import java.util.*; public class Palindrome { public static void main(String[] args) { String myInput; Scanner in = new Scanner(System.in); System.out.println("Enter a word or phrase: "); **//this asks user for input but doesn't check for whether or not it is a palindrome** myInput = in.nextLine(); in.close(); System.out.println("You entered: " + myInput); } { String s="racecar"; **//I can type a word here and it works but I need** int i; **//I need it to work where I ask for the input** int n=s.length(); String str=""; for(i=n-1;i>=0;i--) str=str+s.charAt(i); if(str.equals(s)) System.out.println(s+ " is a palindrome"); else System.out.println(s+ " is not a palindrome"); } }` I'm new at programming so I'm hoping what I got is ok. I know the palindrome test works I'm just needing helping having it test thru where I'm entering it into the console. Thanks

  • Parsing XML via jQuery, nested loops

    - by Coughlin
    I am using jQuery to parse XML on my page using $.ajax(). My code block is below and I can get this working to display say each result on the XML file, but I am having trouble because each section can have MORE THAN ONE and im trying to print ALL grades that belong to ONE STUDENT. Here is an example of the XML. <student num="505"> <name gender="male">Al Einstein</name> <course cid="1">60</course> <course cid="2">60</course> <course cid="3">40</course> <course cid="4">55</course> <comments>Lucky if he makes it to lab, hopeless.</comments> </student> Where you see the I am trying to get the results to print the grades for EACH student in each course. Any ideas on what I would do? Thanks, Ryan $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: "final_exam.xml", dataType: "xml", success: function(xml) { var student_list = $('#student-list'); $(xml).find('student').each(function(){ $(xml).find('course').each(function(){ gradeArray = $(this).text(); console.log(gradeArray); }); var name = $(this).find("name").text(); var grade = $(this).find("course").text(); var cid = $(this).find("course").attr("cid"); //console.log(cid); student_list.append("<tr><td>"+name+"</td><td>"+cid+"</td><td>"+grade+"</td></tr>"); }); } });

  • jQuery + InnovaStudio WYSIWYG Editor

    - by Phil Sturgeon
    I am trying to avoid hard-coding each instance of this WYSIWYG editor so I am using jQuery to create an each() loop based on function name. Annoyingly InnovaStudio seems to explode when I try. Documentation Attempt #1 <script type="text/javascript"> /* id = $(this).attr('id'); if(id.length == 0) { id = 'wysiwyg-' + wysiwyg_count; $(this).attr('id', id); } WYSIWYG[wysiwyg_count] = new InnovaEditor('WYSIWYG[' + wysiwyg_count + ']'); WYSIWYG[wysiwyg_count].REPLACE(id); */ var demo = new InnovaEditor('demo'); demo.REPLACE('wysiwyg-1'); console.log('loop'); </script> Effect Works fine, but of course only works for a single instance of the editor. If I want multiple instances I need to use an each. Attempt #2: <script type="text/javascript"> var wysiwyg_count = 1; //var WYSIWYG = []; var demo; (function($) { $(function() { $('.wysiwyg-simple').each(function(){ /* id = $(this).attr('id'); if(id.length == 0) { id = 'wysiwyg-' + wysiwyg_count; $(this).attr('id', id); } WYSIWYG[wysiwyg_count] = new InnovaEditor('WYSIWYG[' + wysiwyg_count + ']'); WYSIWYG[wysiwyg_count].REPLACE(id); */ demo = new InnovaEditor('demo'); demo.REPLACE('wysiwyg-1'); console.log('loop'); }); }); })(jQuery); </script> Effect Replaces the entire HTML body of my page with JUST WYSIWYG related code and complains as no JS is available (not even Firebug, so can't debug). Does anybody know what the hell is going on here?

  • Informix, NHibernate, TransactionScope interaction difficulties

    - by John Prideaux
    I have a small program that is trying to wrap an NHibernate insert into an Informix database in a TransactionScope object using the Informix .NET Provider. I am getting the error specified below. The code without the TransactionScope object works -- including when the insert is wrapped in an NHibernate session transaction. Any ideas on what the problem is? • USB Barcode Scanner and WM_KEYDOWN

    - by Bryce Fischer
    I am trying to write a program that can will read a barcode scanner. In addition, I need it to read the input even when the application is not the window in focus (i.e., running in system tray, etc). I found this article, titled Distinguishing Barcode Scanners from the Keyboard in WinForms, that seems to solve the exact problem. It is working pretty good, it detects my device and handles the WM_INPUT message. However, it is checking to see if the RAWINPUT.keyboard.Message is WM_KEYDOWN (0x100). It never seems to receive this. The only line of code I've altered in the code provided in the article is adding a Console.Out.WriteLine to output the actual values of that message: Console.Out.WriteLine("message: {0}", raw.keyboard.Message.ToString("X")); if (raw.keyboard.Message == NativeMethods.WM_KEYDOWN) { .... Here is what it outputs: message: B message: 1000B message: 3 message: 10003 message: 8 message: 10008 message: 3 message: 10003 message: 5 message: 10005 message: 3 message: 10003 message: 8 message: 10008 message: 8 message: 10008 message: 4 message: 10004 message: 9 message: 10009 message: 9 message: 10009 message: 3 message: 10003 The value I'm expecting to receive when this completes correctly is: 257232709 Which I verified by scanning to notepad. I don't know if the Operation System is relevant here, but I figured I should mention that I'm running this in Windows 7 64 and Visual Studio 2010 and .NET Framework 3.5. Scanner is a USB Barcode Scanner, Symbol LS2208, setup as "HID KEYBOARD EMULATION"

  • CSharpCodeProvider doesn't return compiler warnings when there are no errors

    - by Sandor Drieënhuizen
    I'm using the CSharpCodeProvider class to compile a C# script which I use as a DSL in my application. When there are warnings but no errors, the Errors property of the resulting CompilerResults instance contains no items. But when I introduce an error, the warnings suddenly get listed in the Errors property as well. string script = @" using System; using System; \\ generate a warning namespace MyNamespace { public class MyClass { public void MyMethod() { \\ uncomment the next statement to generate an error \\intx = 0; } } } "; CSharpCodeProvider provider = new CSharpCodeProvider( new Dictionary<string, string>() { { "CompilerVersion", "v4.0" } }); CompilerParameters compilerParameters = new CompilerParameters(); compilerParameters.GenerateExecutable = false; compilerParameters.GenerateInMemory = true; CompilerResults results = provider.CompileAssemblyFromSource( compilerParameters, script); foreach (CompilerError error in results.Errors) { Console.Write(error.IsWarning ? "Warning: " : "Error: "); Console.WriteLine(error.ErrorText); } So how to I get hold of the warnings when there are no errors? By the way, I don't want to set TreatWarningsAsErrors to true.

  • MSTest Test Context Exception Handling

    - by Flip
    Is there a way that I can get to the exception that was handled by the MSTest framework using the TestContext or some other method on a base test class? If an unhandled exception occurs in one of my tests, I'd like to spin through all the items in the exception.Data dictionary and display them to the test result to help me figure out why the test failed (we usually add data to the exception to help us debug in the production env, so I'd like to do the same for testing). Note: I am not testing that an exception was SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN (I have other tests for that), I am testing a valid case, I just need to see the exception data. Here is a code example of what I'm talking about. [TestMethod] public void IsFinanceDeadlineDateValid() { var target = new BusinessObject(); SetupBusinessObject(target); //How can I capture this in the text context so I can display all the data //in the exception in the test result... var expected = 100; try { Assert.AreEqual(expected, target.PerformSomeCalculationThatMayDivideByZero()); } catch (Exception ex) { ex.Data.Add("SomethingImportant", "I want to see this in the test result, as its important"); ex.Data.Add("Expected", expected); throw ex; } } I understand there are issues around why I probably shouldn't have such an encapsulating method, but we also have sub tests to test all the functionality of PerformSomeCalculation... However, if the test fails, 99% of the time, I rerun it passes, so I can't debug anything without this information. I would also like to do this on a GLOBAL level, so that if any test fails, I get the information in the test results, as opposed to doing it for each individual test. Here is the code that would put the exception info in the test results. public void AddDataFromExceptionToResults(Exception ex) { StringBuilder whereAmI = new StringBuilder(); var holdException = ex; while (holdException != null) { Console.WriteLine(whereAmI.ToString() + "--" + holdException.Message); foreach (var item in holdException.Data.Keys) { Console.WriteLine(whereAmI.ToString() + "--Data--" + item + ":" + holdException.Data[item]); } holdException = holdException.InnerException; } }

  • number->string and related procedures in GIMP scheme scripting

    - by dim fish
    I am frustrated with string-to-number and number-to-string conversion in GIMP scripting. I am runnning GIMP 2.6.8 in Windows Vista. I understand that GIMP's internal Scheme implementation changes over the versions and I can't seem to nail down the documentation. From what I can gather GIMP's Scheme is a subset of TinyScheme and/or supports the R5RS standard procedures. In any case, I usually just look in the packaged script directory for examples when I want to try something new, because that should work for sure, right? For example, grid-system.scm comes with the latest GIMP release and has the expression, (string-append (number->string obj) " ") which is exactly what I want. However, if I use number-string in my own script, or even type it into GIMP's script console (which is how I usually test out new stuff I want to do) it tells me number-string is an unbound variable: > (number->string 3) Error: eval: unbound variable: number->string Other standard procedures from, say R5RS, work just fine: > (string-append "frust" "rated") "frustrated" So, 1) Is there some lurking documentation for current GIMP Scheme scripting other than something drastic like searching GIMP's source code? 2) Can I use the GIMP console to spit out a list of all defined procedures to find something I need? 3) Anyone else confirm that number-string is not defined for the current Windows build, even though it appears in the packaged scripts? My web searches haven't turned up any related problems, and a complete uninstall of all GIMP versions, back to latest puts me in the same scrape.

  • QuickFix Component in Eclipse

    - by Daro Royoss
    My aim is to extend the eclipse QuickFix component and automate the process of solving syntax errors. Basically, the QuickFix component provides a list of solutions and my task is to select the best possible fix and apply it to the buggy code. But, for now I've been requested to print the resolutions for a marker in the console. I've tried to work out a tutorial and I'm kind of stuck right now. The tutorial I've tried to workout is: http://www.informit.com/articles/article.aspx?p=370625&seqNum=21 I've first added the extension in my plugin.xml file <extension point="org.eclipse.ui.ide.markerResolution"> <markerResolutionGenerator markerType="org.eclipse.core.resources.problemmarker" class="org.eclipse.escript.quickfix.QuickFixer"/> </extension> Then i have created the two classes QuickFixer and QuickFix. package quickfixer; import org.eclipse.core.resources.IMarker; import org.eclipse.core.runtime.CoreException; import org.eclipse.ui.IMarkerResolution; import org.eclipse.ui.IMarkerResolutionGenerator; class QuickFixer implements IMarkerResolutionGenerator { public IMarkerResolution[] getResolutions(IMarker arg0) { try { Object problem = arg0.getAttribute("Whatsup"); return new IMarkerResolution[] { new QuickFix("Fix #1 for "+problem), new QuickFix("Fix #2 for "+problem), }; } catch(CoreException e) { return new IMarkerResolution[0]; } } } then the class QuickFix: package quickfixer; import org.eclipse.core.resources.IMarker; import org.eclipse.jface.dialogs.MessageDialog; import org.eclipse.ui.IMarkerResolution; public class QuickFix implements IMarkerResolution { String label; QuickFix(String label) { this.label = label; } public String getLabel() { return label; } public void run(IMarker arg0) { MessageDialog.openInformation(null, "QuickFix Demo", "This quick-fix is not yet implemented"); System.out.println("Label: " + label); } } I've managed to correct all the errors i encountered and then i have run the plugin. I have not been able to get the label printed out in the console.Any suggestions???...

  • Not able to use 7-Zip to compress stdin and output with stdout?

    - by acidzombie24
    I get the error "Not implemented". I want to compress a file using 7-Zip via stdin then take the data via stdout and do more conversions with my application. In the man page it shows this example: % echo foo | 7z a dummy -tgzip -si -so /dev/null I am using Windows and C#. Results: 7-Zip 4.65 Copyright (c) 1999-2009 Igor Pavlov 2009-02-03 Creating archive StdOut System error: Not implemented Code: public static byte[] a7zipBuf(byte[] b) { string line; var p = new Process(); line = string.Format("a dummy -t7z -si -so "); p.StartInfo.Arguments = line; p.StartInfo.FileName = @"C:\Program Files\7-Zip\7z.exe"; p.StartInfo.WindowStyle = ProcessWindowStyle.Hidden; p.StartInfo.CreateNoWindow = true; p.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = false; p.StartInfo.RedirectStandardOutput = true; p.StartInfo.RedirectStandardError = true; p.StartInfo.RedirectStandardInput = true; p.Start(); p.StandardInput.BaseStream.Write(b, 0, b.Length); p.StandardInput.Close(); Console.Write(p.StandardError.ReadToEnd()); //Console.Write(p.StandardOutput.ReadToEnd()); return p.StandardOutput.BaseStream.ReadFully(); } Is there another simple way to read the file into memory? Right now I can 1) write to a temporary file and read (easy and can copy/paste some code) 2) use a file pipe (medium? I have never done it) 3) Something else.

  • Entity Framework lazy loading doesn't work from other thread

    - by Thomas Levesque
    Hi, I just found out that lazy loading in Entity Framework only works from the thread that created the ObjectContext. To illustrate the problem, I did a simple test, with a simple model containing just 2 entities : Person and Address. Here's the code : private static void TestSingleThread() { using (var context = new TestDBContext()) { foreach (var p in context.Person) { Console.WriteLine("{0} lives in {1}.", p.Name, p.Address.City); } } } private static void TestMultiThread() { using (var context = new TestDBContext()) { foreach (var p in context.Person) { Person p2 = p; // to avoid capturing the loop variable ThreadPool.QueueUserWorkItem( arg => { Console.WriteLine("{0} lives in {1}.", p2.Name, p2.Address.City); }); } } } The TestSingleThread method works fine, the Address property is lazily loaded. But in TestMultiThread, I get a NullReferenceException on p2.Address.City, because p2.Address is null. It that a bug ? Is this the way it's supposed to work ? If so, is there any documentation mentioning it ? I couldn't find anything on the subject on MSDN or Google... And more importantly, is there a workaround ? (other than explicitly calling LoadProperty from the worker thread...) Any help would be very appreciated PS: I'm using VS2010, so it's EF 4.0. I don't know if it was the same in the previous version of EF...

  • C#, Asp.net Uploading files to file server...

    - by Imcl
    Using the link below, I wrote a code for my application. I am not able to get it right though, Please refer the link and help me ot with it... http://stackoverflow.com/questions/263518/c-uploading-files-to-file-server The following is my code:- protected void Button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { filePath = FileUpload1.FileName; try { WebClient client = new WebClient(); NetworkCredential nc = new NetworkCredential(uName, password); Uri addy = new Uri("\\\\192.168.1.3\\upload\\"); client.Credentials = nc; byte[] arrReturn = client.UploadFile(addy, filePath); arrReturn = client.UploadFile(addy, filePath); Console.WriteLine(arrReturn.ToString()); } catch (Exception ex) { Console.WriteLine(ex.Message); } } I also used:- File.Copy(filePath, "\\192.168.1.3\upload\"); The following line doesnt execute... byte[] arrReturn = client.UploadFile(addy, filePath); tried changing it to:- byte[] arrReturn = client.UploadFile("\\192.168.1.3\upload\", filePath); IT still doesnt work...Any solution to it?? I basically want to transfer a file from the client to the file storage server without actually loggin into the server so that the client cannot access the storage location on the server directly...

  • RSA Decrypting a string in C# which was encrypted with openssl in php 5.3.2

    - by panny
    maybe someone can clear me up. I have been surfing on this a while now. I used openssl from console to create a root certificate for me (privatekey.pem, publickey.pem, mycert.pem, mycertprivatekey.pfx). See the end of this text on how. The problem is still to get a string encrypted on the PHP side to be decrypted on the C# side with RSACryptoServiceProvider. Any ideas? PHP side I used the publickey.pem to read it into php: $server_public_key = openssl_pkey_get_public(file_get_contents("C:\publickey.pem")); // rsa encrypt openssl_public_encrypt("123", $encrypted, $server_public_key); and the privatekey.pem to check if it works: openssl_private_decrypt($encrypted, $decrypted, openssl_get_privatekey(file_get_contents("C:\privatekey.pem"))); Coming to the conclusion, that encryption/decryption works fine on the php side with these openssl root certificate files. C# side In same manner I read the keys into a .net C# console program: X509Certificate2 myCert2 = new X509Certificate2(); RSACryptoServiceProvider rsa = new RSACryptoServiceProvider(); try { myCert2 = new X509Certificate2(@"C:\mycertprivatekey.pfx"); rsa = (RSACryptoServiceProvider)myCert2.PrivateKey; } catch (Exception e) { } string t = Convert.ToString(rsa.Decrypt(rsa.Encrypt(test, false), false)); coming to the point, that encryption/decryption works fine on the c# side with these openssl root certificate files. key generation on unix 1) openssl req -x509 -nodes -days 3650 -newkey rsa:1024 -keyout privatekey.pem -out mycert.pem 2) openssl rsa -in privatekey.pem -pubout -out publickey.pem 3) openssl pkcs12 -export -out mycertprivatekey.pfx -in mycert.pem -inkey privatekey.pem -name "my certificate"
