  • Concatenate & Minify JS on the fly OR at build time - ASP.NET MVC

    As an extension to this question here Linking JavaScript Libraries in User Controls I was after some examples of how people are concatinating & minifying javascript on the fly OR at build time. I would also like to see how it then works into your master pages. I don't mind page specific files being minified and linked inidividually as they currently are (see below) but all the js files on the main master page (I have about 5 or 6) I would like concatenated and minified.   • Common Table Expressions slow when using a table variable

    I have been experimenting with the following (simplified) CTE. When using a table variable () the query runs for minutes before I cancel it. Any of the other commented out methods return in less than a second. If I replace the whole WHERE clause with an INNER JOIN it is fast as well. Any ideas why using a table variable would run so slowly? FWIW: The database contains 2.5 million records and the inner query returns 2 records.   • Extracting pair member in lambda expressions and template typedef idiom

    Hi, I have some complex types here so I decided to use nifty trick to have typedef on templated types. Then I have a class some_container that has a container as a member. Container is a vector of pairs composed of element and vector. I want to write std::find_if algorithm with lambda expression to find element that have certain value. To get the value I have to call first on pair and then get value from element. Below my std::find_if there is normal loop that does the trick. My lambda fails to compile. How to access value inside element which is inside pair?   • Properly registering JavaScript and CSS in MVC 2 Editor Templates

    How do I properly register javascript blocks in an ASP.NET MVC 2 (RTM) Editor template? The specific scenario I'm in is that I want to use Dynarch JSCal2 DateTimePicker for my standard datetime picker, but this question is in general to any reusable javascript package. I have my template working properly now but it has my JS and CSS includes in my master page and I would rather only include these things if I actually need them: <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="../../Content/JSCal2-1.7/jscal2.css" /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="../../Content/JSCal2-1.7/border-radius.css" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="../../Scripts/JSCal2-1.7/jscal2.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="../../Scripts/JSCal2-1.7/lang/en.js"></script> So obviously I could just put these lines into my template, but then if I have a screen that has 5 DateTimePickers, then this content would be duplicated 5 times which wouldn't be ideal. Anyways, I still want my View's Template to trigger this code being put into the <head> of my page. The problem I discovered in a Unit test (albeit an unlikely event), that the following line could be null: detail.ExpenditureAmounts.FirstOrDefault( amount => amount.isCurrent && !amount.requiresAudit) My original query was a nested loop, in where I would be making multiple trips to the database, something I don't want to repeat. I've looked in to what seemed like some similar questions here, but the solution didn't seem to fit. Any ideas?

    Hey Guys I am trying to remove all the relative image path slashes from a chunk of HTML that contains several other elements. For example <img src="../../../../images/upload/1/test.jpg /> would need to become <img src="http://s3.amazonaws.com/website/images/upload/1/test.jpg" /> I was thinking of writing this as a rails helper, and just passing the entire block into the method, and make using Nokogiri or Hpricot to parse the HTML instead, but I don't really know. Try specifying the type arguments explicitly. However if I just substitute the first line in main with this: IEnumerable<User> list = GetUsers().Where(u => u.Name.Contains("a")); It works fine. Can tell me what I'm doing wrong, please?

I just now realized, however, that the following technique: var testaroo = 0; (function executeOnLoad() { if (testaroo++ < 5) { setTimeout(executeOnLoad, 25); return; } alert(testaroo); // alerts "6" })(); returns the result I expect. If T.J.Crowder's answer from my first question is correct, then shouldn't this technique not work?

This map is similar to the one that can be sent to the .css() method, except that the range of properties is more restrictive. So, why does this work $('#con div').css( { top : function(i) { console.log(i); return (i * 500) + 'px'; } } ); and this doesn't? $('#con div').animate( { top : function(i) { console.log(i); return (i * 500) + 'px'; } } ); The console shows that the function is being evaluated for css, but not for animate. Am I missing something? By the way, I'm using 1.4.2.

Java's pattern matcher doesn't seem to accept \? as a valid escape sequence but it also fails to work with the tester at myregexp.com.
